My delayed entry for this year's @femslashgelion, based on prompt by @freezing-kaiju: RitsuMaya, 'weight gain as a form of recovery'. Not sure I quite got the theme, but I wanted to show them with some weight gain and happy together. Hope you like it!

Day 15: Rosy Maple Moth. I am too far behind to even hope to catch up, but I'm pushing myself to draw anyway. This was fun, and I definitely look forward to seeing her in color! Day 6: Black-veined white butterfly. I was hoping to do some inking and coloring this weekend, but yesterday I was not feeling well after my 2nd Covid vaccine, and today I spent most of the day setting up my new PC after my old one essentially stopped working. So here's another sketch! I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up daily, and my goal was 5 drawings per week, but I'll take what I can get. Gwen and Irisid all dressed up (and masked!) for a New Year's party--in the silliest costumes they could find. This was drawn for a virtual OC party hosted by an art-group on diary.ru, and it was a fun way to do something with others at the end of the year, even at a great distance (and 8 time zones away). Glad to see the tail end of 2020, and looking forward to 2021! It's already looking brighter, and I hope it's the same for all of us. This is a pretty old piece (2006-ish?) that I still love. There are things I could probably touch up, but I feel like I captured the mood I was going for pretty well, and I don't believe in fixing things that aren't broken. I've struggled with art output pretty much since the end of Inktober. November and December so far have been very stressful, and I have found myself with no desire to create things. This happens sometimes, when I step away from the tools and do some soul-searching, try to find things that I am excited about, a good rhythm in life, and chart a pathway forward. Right now it feels like I'm trying to do this while balancing on a ball placed on another ball, which is, for me, impossible. So I've decided to give myself a break until January, when I hope a lot of things will settle down, and I can get back to making art. Until then, I will not feel guilty for stepping away and taking time off to focus on other important parts in my life. WHOO IT'S HERE!! I got my journal from @kinaink this week, and I'm in love. Can't wait to set it up and make it all my own. I backed it through the original kickstarter, but it's still available through kinaink.com, along with really nice sticker sheets and a booklet to kick off the bullet journal experience! That said, I haven't been very motivated to draw lately. My work and personal life have both been stressful, there seems to be more going on than I can handle, and while I know it will all be good eventually, my creative side tends to suffer. I hope starting something new, like a bullet journal, will help to spur me to action and inspire me to do art again.
