The person who only watches movies and shows about fantasy races might be fictionkin or otherkin

Or more likely there are hundreds of people whose interests don't match their alterhumanity!

Or even more likely, there are probably hundreds of people in the world who are alterhuman and have literally no idea!

You've probably met somebody who was alterhuman before, whether you knew or even if THEY knew it at the time.

Can I just say I fucking love when I post a head canon and a fictionkin of an involved character appears in the notes like "yeah this happened" or "can confirm". It makes me smile every time, keep doing it guys I love y'all /p

{ god you ever feel homesick toward a piece of fictional media and forget that you can't just Physically Go Back To It and there's nothing left to experience after you've finished all the official content (other than fanfiction, of course) }

a lot of therian and otherkin positivity i see from non-therian/otherkin just feels so…infantilizing. like instead of just a perfectly fine “guys, respect who they are, respect their choices, it’s not harming your they’re perfectly valid” a lot of it is like “guys, respect their choices, some of them are just playing around! kids love to play dress up and pretend to be their favorite animals! it’s normal and they might even grow out of it! everyone needs some community” and it’s just like. weird. we aren’t kids (at least a lot of us aren’t), our identities aren’t just something we “grow out of.” stop talking about us like it’s just a phase and the only reason you should respect us is that “everybody does weird stuff to cope.” please just treat us normally.
