A man’s no better than the pain he’s caused to the people he loves and what he’s willing to do to set it right.

She hesitated for a moment, then mustered the courage and said, “Why?” She thought he understood her meaning: Why her? Why save her, and now try to rescue her? She had guessed at the answer, but she wanted to hear him say it.
He stared at her for the longest while, and then, in a low, hard voice, he said, “You know why.”

❛ you can miss something but not want it back. ❜
How his heart did ache, setting ablaze at her statement. Facial features turned hard, angry. How could she even assume he didn’t want what they had back ? Did she honestly think he felt nothing for her after all this time ? Emotions strong enough could not be forgotten and neither would the time spent talking with Nasuada as he was kept, prisoner. Lips mashed into a firm line as he pointed a finger in her direction, ❝ Is that what you really think, my Q U E E N ? That I have lost my feelings for you ? If anything, while in exile, I find it hard to forget the time well spent. You, the only one E V E R there for me in my time of need and I the same for you. My feelings for you will N E V E R disappear no matter the distance I travel. Do you understand, Nasuada ? ❞ Her name a slip of the tongue — how it was decadent to his very soul. Thorn had to suffer such sad thoughts, if not annoying loving ones, of his relationship with the Queen of the Varden.

Roran: So here's the tea.
Nasuada: For the last time, it's called a "mission report".
Roran: ...Do you want the tea or not?

'If I had to choose anyone it'd be you.'
She’s speechless the tongue tied between teeth’s and her only response to his words are tears shed in silence. She cannot nor will not say anything, she dares not. Why would he say such things? she’s tied, tortured and at the mercy of Galbatorix and him and yet Murtagh comes each night to heal her and tonight he’s drunk enough that she can smell the alcohol in his skin. He pours his soul into her and she listen she can’t do anything else besides listening, the shackles burn her skin and yet Nasuada doesn’t move an inch from where she is her heart throbbing, there’s a duality in her mind. The torn feelings of hate and pity. To long for something, to forgive but despite it all resent and have a desire for vengeance, she bites her bottom lip hard enough to surely make herself bleed pain is better than the battle of conscience.
in the cold embrace of darkness in the cell she shares with her own mind and the’demons’ who come to torment her Nasuada moves just a bit, her hand trembles and touches Murtagh’s arm. “If what you say is true...” she holds the words in her mouth long enough to make them mean something “Free me” the last phrase felt like a release or more so like a wish. To be free... away from this hellish place.
