Vanessa raised a brow at JJ and cocked her head to the side. "Do you think I'm someone else?" She teased. "I'm kidding, how are you doing JJ and don't lie to me, it's my job to tail people after all."
jj tugged his earbuds out as he slowed to a walk, breath still catching from his run through central park. the city was buzzing like always—sirens in the distance, dogs yapping, someone yelling about bagels—but he barely noticed any of it. his mind was halfway on autopilot, halfway on the playlist still thumping in his ears.
he was about to cross the path toward the park exit when he spotted a familiar face up ahead—and instantly lit up.
“no way,” he grinned, already heading in their direction, his jog turning into more of an excited bounce. “you serious right now?”
his smile stretched wide as he got closer, eyes squinting a little from the sun—and from how genuinely happy he was to see them.
“what, it’s been a week and you’re just out here actin’ like we didn’t just part ways like we’re not besties? crazy.”
he stopped in front of them, still catching his breath but clearly hyped.
“i missed your face, man. what’re you doin’ out here? stalkin’ me or just perfect timing?” @ggstarterblog

"Hey there." Vanessa greeted the younger woman with a smile and laughed. "I've been busy, though I do want to talk to you and your friends, whenever you get a chance." She admitted. "I just happened to see you first, so maybe you can give me a Kiara answer and not a group answer?"
Kiara tugged her coat a little tighter around herself as she stepped out of her Manhattan apartment complex, the sharp city wind nipping at her cheeks. Her boots clicked against the concrete as she paused on the sidewalk, eyes drifting up toward the steel and glass skyline. It was loud here—horns blaring, people barking into phones, the buzz of life that never seemed to slow down. It wasn't the Outer Banks. There was no salty breeze or rustling palms, no sound of waves crashing in the distance. Just noise.
She missed it. God, did she miss it. But she wouldn’t say anything. Couldn’t. She had to be here—for herself, yeah, but for her friends too.
Her fingers fidgeted with the ring on her hand as she let out a slow breath, grounding herself.
“Kiara!”
She turned quickly, eyes snapping toward the familiar voice cutting through the urban hum. Her expression softened as she spotted the person calling her name, brows lifting just slightly in recognition.
“Hey,” she said, her voice calm but warm, like the storm brewing behind her eyes hadn’t been there a second ago. “Didn’t think I’d see you today.” @ggstarterblog

"I'm glad that you're not too upset about it." Vanessa said. "Though if you want to scry, cream, break a dish or something, let me know."
"Girl you don't have to apologize at all, I promise." Ella promised her with a smile. "No, you don't have to, I promise. Things like this happen all the time."

"Since when the fuck did you get so wise to anything that has to do with Gossip Girl?"
"Take it from me, Vanessa, don't let Gossip Girl dictate how much fun you do or you don't have at this party." He said. "It'll only make you miserable."

"Oh I am so sorry that you're single now." Vanessa looked at Ella. "I know last time we talked, you said things with him were good. Do you want me to track him and find out what happened?"
"I really wasn't expecting to be single in 2025, but I'm not gonna sit and mope like a loser, so, who wants to go and do something?" @ggstarterblog

Vanessa looked at Frankie and couldn't help but smile. "I mean, I know a few divorces are happening, but nothing I can really talk about, because it's not public knowledge yet." She smirked. "How are you though? How are things with Jordan?"
Frankie savored the rare quiet moment, sipping her mimosa as laughter bubbled around the brunch table. Between juggling work and the endless duties of being a housewife, these stolen hours with friends felt like a lifeline. "Tell me everything," she urged, leaning in with a smirk. "Who’s fighting, who’s cheating, and who’s pretending their life isn’t falling apart?" @ggstarterblog

"I've been on a yacht before." Vanessa looked at Max. "Just not like this, and it's different since Gossip Girl is at the helm of this party."
"From the look in your eyes, you'd think you've never been on a yacht before." Max looked at the person who was standing wide eyed in the middle of the front of the boat. "We're completely safe where we are." He promised. @ggstarterblog

Vanessa's look for the yacht party

Vanessa laughed. "Trust me, as fun as the Gossip Girl hosted parties have gotten, it is not the best thing that's happened to me so far today." She shrugged and looked at her. "Though, I don't think I have a highlight of it yet. Ask me again after the party is over and I'll have an answer for you."
Cassie grinned as she stepped onto the yacht, drink already in hand and the city skyline glittering behind her. The music was loud, the air was warm, and the energy was exactly what she’d been craving.
She spun in a slow circle, scanning the crowd for familiar faces. So many people, so many conversations waiting to happen. Her kind of night.
Turning to the nearest person, she flashed a playful smile. " So, tell me, dear friend, what's the best thing that's happened to you today, and don't say coming to this party, it doesn't count"

It had been a while since Vanessa last saw Veronica but she was excited to see her again. Sending her a text to let her know she was outside the restaurant they had agreed to meet at, she exhaled before walking inside and smiling at her. "Hey there Veronica, you look good." She complimented and hugged her. "How's your day going so far?" @blackwidowofallstreet

"I mean, yes but I'm also very, very good at my job and I have never been caught." Vanessa laughed and looked at him. "Okay it is dfferent though, Dimitri, I can actually go to jail for one."
"Technically it's only illegal if you get caught, plus, don't you get in trouble if you get caught when you're on a job? It's not really different, you're just being paid for one and not the other."

"Yeah you'd be surprised at the bullshit I find on people when I'm stalking them, like legally stalking them." Vanessa laughed. "How are you doing though, Cassie? Are you excited to be back?"
"Well that's kind of disturbing, but point taken," Cassie said and laughed a little. She then took a seat as Vanessa asked her to" Thanks, it's great to be back...and fine, more muffin for me"

"That's really good!" Vanessa smiled at the younger woman. "Hey, love happens and shit like that happens when you least expect it, you know?"
"Adler and they are going great." Ella smiled. "He's like the sweetest soul in the world." She said. "I got so lucky and I'm not even sure how it happened."

"Look I don't care if I have downtime but when it's too much downtime, I feel like I'm going to explode."
Reid looked at her. "I know you're not actually unemployed, but I get what you're saying. I hate having downtime too."
