seeing ppl in other countries laughing at americans for being devastated by the tiktok ban have no real sense of the issue and are being willfully ignorant just to make another jab at “those stupid americans and their silly vanity.”

it’s not just abt losing a social media platform. it’s about censorship, it’s about loss of livelihoods for THOUSANDS, it’s about the small businesses that will go bankrupt.

it’s not just social media, it’s about losing the one app that allowed people to freely communicate, organize, and protest—something that is ESPECIALLY important today. thinking otherwise tells me you don’t actually care abt very serious issues just bc they don’t affect you.
