Since beginning my adhd medication, I've began to realize the effects it actually has on me. Such as this example of my train of thought when I hadn't taken my meds today!
1: God made Ryan Reynolds and said, 'but what if he were red and queer-coded?'
2: ah yes, this makes Ryan Reynolds a saint.
3: Ryan Reynolds saint candle
4: I should buy a Ryan Reynolds saint candle for my future Deadpool shrine
5: mmhhh future Deadpool shrineeee

BONER TOWN
at what point did the smut and fanfic community decide that we are using “come” instead of “cum”??? when did this happen? are we scared of cum? as grown adults?? why are we coming instead of cumming? “coming” is so un-erotic, like ohhhhhhh im coming — where are you going???

Been ranting a lot, lately, so here's another one
Sometimes it's hard to remember that my dad cares. It's not like he doesnt care about my brother and I at all- of course he does, he's our dad. It's just hard to tell that he cares about our issues.
Both my brother and I are queer in one way or another. Neither of our parents had any issue with it when he and I came out at our respective times. They support us fully, as any parents should. But I never realized my dad wanted to understand the issues my brother and I face as queer people.
Our dad likes to debate, and also doesnt like to admit when he's wrong. But, he is also very wise and actually works to further understand something. His understanding of a certain situation doesnt just stop at 'you're wrong, and I'm right.' I've walked through his office and overheard videos playing about the danger that queer people are being put through in our current political climate.
He educates himself on the issues that my brother and i might face, which is sometimes surprising to me. My dad grew up in, what I call 'Small Town, Bumfuck Nowhere' where it would've been difficult to find any other point of view othrt than the opinions of those who surrounded you. He hides his emotions to the point where the rest of the family can barely tell what he's thinking or what he's angry about at one point or another.
But he cares. He truly cares. And it makes me happy to just know that, because it would be so easy for him to just ignore everything which I experience. But he doesnt. And I love him for that.
Thanks, Dad :)

Hey medical teachers? Can we stop giving students like 2, 1:30 videos about a certain topic, with a quiz immedietly following? It does not help with information retention- in fact it is very frustrating and a lazy teaching strategy. All it does is force students to retain large amounts of information for a very short amount of time, and does not contribute to any actual experience in a skill.
I am not a teacher, but i have taken medical classes, and so has my mother. My medical class last year was JUST as frustrating. I loved the teacher, but his teaching strategy made me want to smash his projector into pieces. I could not retain any info with how he was trying to force it into my head. I could only barely pass a lot of pop quizzes and if you asked me what the purpose of pepsin was, with only the information from that class, i wouldn't be able to tell you.
My mom is currently taking a course on psychology to be a medical assistant. The first lesson In this course- i kid you not - showed her 2 videos which were both under 5 minutes, and gave her 3 different quizzes on psychological defense techniques, the hierarchy of needs, and the stages of grief. Psychology is my special interest and both my mom and I were excited for this class. We were IMMEDIETLY turned off by this. Psychology is already such a huge topic as it is, so forcing people to understand a VERY difficult area of the topic in under 10 minutes is not productive.
I genuinely want to know why teachers do this. I understand you have to get through the course in a certain amount of time, but this is not how you encourage good grades, or further recommendations to your class. Give people some time to let information sink in.

Random rant abt my cool af parents
1. When my parents got married, my mom was in bright red, sparkly converse, and my dad in a kilt
2. My, now 51 y/o, father is an anime fan, plays video games extensively, and got me into Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Sailor Moon, rdr2, and DnD.
3. My mother used to work as a stage hand when she was younger, for a whole bunch of famous bands. Off the top of my head, she worked Kiss, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, and Alice Cooper shows.
4. Because of my mother's experience with music equipment, she has been able to find good equipment for my brother and I, when we started playing our instruments. This has also lead us to have a collection of various, cables, amplifiers, and instruments in our basement.
5. Dad works in IT, and has been so strong over the years, with my mother's difficulty in keeping jobs. He found an area he works best in, and is our personal technician for software shit no one else in the house understands!
6. My dad has a full head of long, brown hair. Again, he's 51. Barely any balding. He was destined to be a girl dad from the start, since he had to learn how to deal with his own hair when he was younger. He has this one specific brand of hair products that he exclusively uses. And - get this - he DESPISES 2-in-1 hair products. Thank you, father for teaching my brother and I, how to properly take care of our heads.
7. I see a lot of myself in my mother. She's kind, and always looks out for other people, even when she doesn't need to, and even if she takes on too much responsibility in a situation. She cares about the world around her, because growing up, she never saw that care in her own world. She's give anything for my brother and I, as any mother should- and I'd do the same for her.
8. They both have goated music tastes. My dad is primarily a mix of punk, and power metal, while my mom is much more musical theater and classic rock. My brother and I get our appreciation of different forms of punk music from Dad. Along with an intense interest in musicals that our mom cultivated from the start!
9. Both my brother and I share a special interest with one of our parents. My brother shares his interest in politics and law with our dad, we while I share my interest in human anatomy, physiology, and psychology with our mom!
10. Whenever I see my parents indulging in their special interests, or current hyperfixations (even though they deny that they have special interests or hyperfixations) it fills my heart with joy. It reminds me, that I'm not alone in my neueodivergance, and my parents share these same traits. My mom's special interests include; music, medical science, plane crashes, human atrocities in recent history, and natural disasters. She is currently taking a course to become a medical assistant, has gone to collage for music and is ALWAYS happy to teach me music theory, and watches SO MANY videos on the other topics I've listed. She even installed a mechanism in our house so she can measure recent storms.
My dad gets hyperfixated on video games, primarily. He doesn't act on his hyperfixations in ways like I do, like buying copious amounts of merchandise, or saving thousands of pictures of the fixation to my phone. But he has spent almost every hour of his free time playing a new favorite game, we which he had fixated on. Although, he had also spent a large amount of money on a Horizon Lego set, which he put together in 3 days, and whenever I came to see his progress, would always start rambling about the game. Some other honorable mentions of my father's previous hyperfixations have been; the Fallout games, the Fallout show, Cyberpunk (i think he played through it like, twice), and Blue Prince.

Ah, I apologize, grandfather.
I didn't know how to explain it myself, so here's a quote from a blog explaining it,
"Apparently, the young-uns are saying it to affirm whatever was said before. Here’s an example given by a Reddit user:
“I can DM you”
“type shit”
Here’s an example from Urban Dictionary:
Guy: Shawty where you from?
Girl: Venezuela
Guy: Ohhh, type shit
After a lot of puzzling, watching TikToks and reading Reddit threads, my hypothesis is that it is short for “that’s the type of shit I’m talking about”. "
*disappointed sigh in 2000's baby*
"How do you get fanfiction ideas about real people?"

One thing I recently had to learn as someone interested in egl fashion is that people online were not trying to kick *me* out of the subculture.
This last September, I had suddenly gotten a huge interest in egl fashion. I had loved the style before but never had the money for it. So, since I had a fairly large sum of disposable income at the time, I decided to buy a dress from a local alternative clothing shop that I thought fit into what egl was. Well, I was very uneducated on what the fashion actually looked like, what brands to buy from, or how to find egl dresses. I ended up posting this (very VERY naive) coord on reddit and got absolutely shit on lol- so for a while, I stepped away from the style.
I thought "clearly I'm not welcome there. I can at least admire from afar." When all I had to do was remember that it *wasn't personal*
I don't know if anyone else has had to struggle with this thought process before, but for my brain- which often doesn't perceive things the correct way - it was a hard thing to grasp.
And the people who criticized my outfit were correct! It wasn't really an egl coord, as I had thought. Sure, it might've felt harsh, but now I know what to look for when I'm shopping for dresses! Now, I have a goal in mind for what I want my very first coord to look like!
So I guess, if you took the time to read all of this, the moral of the story is that some subcultures aren't trying to kick *you* out. They merely have solid definitions for what their culture looks or sounds like and don't want it to be watered down by the mainstream.
There are some things that still confuse me about the egl community: if fashion is a form of self-expression, why is it that there are guidelines? Can I still make a good coord with pieces that aren't from brands like Atelier Pierrot or Baby, The Stars Shine Bright? How can I stop myself from being discouraged due to mean folks online?
All of which will probably be answered as I immerse myself a little more in this wonderful fashion. Until then, I can only manifest the funds for my dream coord (╥﹏╥)

It's more like seeing someone being reborn, honestly!
I have a good handful of trans friends, and each time I witness them transitioning, it feels like their new and better self is being born.
Oh yeah, and someone's transition is never about how you feel about it. Figured I should put that in there
When you transition people tell you “it’s like watching someone die”. Like yeah a fucking loser died. Just the absolute lamest dude you ever met. A real dogshit guy just bought it. So sorry your absolute failure of a man is gone and has been replaced by a hot chick, must be hard for you 🙄
