it's interesting how black parade takes cabaret and depoliticizes it ALMOST completely (totally not there in extratextual talk like interviews & the bts book; there are hints in some lyrics and "mama" and some stylistic things butttt. it is not even 1% of CABARET). speaks to the self-centeredness of the album which is definitely criticized By the Album itself but not to the total extent cabaret criticizes itself for ITS self-centeredness. black parade is a totally different playing field of self-centeredness (by making the entire setting the inner life of its 1 main character) which it never addresses in terms of greater world ignorance rather than just interpersonal / physical ignorance
