Sooo... did I just build a furniture/home decor store and decide to build/decorate showrooms for it and spend... Uh, way too long doing so? Maybe. Possibly.

This is just one of the showrooms, I’m planning on making another one next to this one. The third floor of this building will be empty I think, or I might move this up one floor and use the second floor for some additional space. We’ll see.

I am really happy with the outcome though and this was really relaxing. However I should have been working on either finishing up the sims that live in Bailey, finishing up Faye’s room, finishing (and making) Leah’s home and their parents house but... Ooops?

So I decided to go ahead and add in Faye’s family anyway. I never got to play her sister much and I think she and her hubby are very cute! 

Anyhow, I made mommy and daddy Maxwell, a.k.a. Kurt and Essie Maxwell. They’ve been married for a while, Essie is the professor/know-it-all and Kurt is the slightly more romantic and artsy one of them.

Kurt currently has (and like Faye will probably get some more traits once I get to know him) successful lineage as his aspiration and has art lover, ambitious and romantic as his traits. Essie is gloomy, active and good and wants a nerd brain.

Dax is the youngest and he’s a cheerful dog-lover who prefers his own company and who likes to learn as many new things as he can.

Then we have Leah, Aretas and their son Xavi. 

Leah is a romantic goofball who’s fond of colours, clumsy and wanting to have her body be in peak condition (a.k.a. bodybuilder). Aretas is a self-assured, goodie-two-shoes who loves the outdoors and likes botany. Their son Xavi is clingy. Very clingy.

So this is Faye Maxwell, she’s the younger sister of another sim of mine that I’ve yet to decide whether or not I’m bringing with me. Faye is my tester sim for Jungle Adventure and just like @pixeldistractions she started her period immediately after being created and getting ready to leave for vacation. I haven’t nailed down her age yet, but she’s in her early 20′s and is creative, active and a bit of a geek. 

She got the new Archaeology Scholar aspiration though she’ll be getting another, along with more traits once I’ve played her a bit. In my head their mom is/was an Archaeology/Ancient History professor so she’s kind of trying to make it for herself I guess. 

She’s also one half of the duo that’s going to be sharing the apartment I posted earlier (her room being the one I haven’t done yet since I had no clue what to do with it). She has a brother that’s about her age, the older sister I told you about who’s married and has a kid and parents that I don’t think are too involved in their kids lives anymore.

This is the other apartment that one of my sims will actually be living in. I hit a bit of a creative wall trying to figure out what to do for the second bedroom in the other apartment so I moved onto this one. As you might guess, I somewhat know the sim living here a little better.

She’s a child of my legacy founder that I’ve aged up to young adult, but I kinda knew a few things about her to start with which helped. I still need to add more lightning to this, finish the bathroom and the bedroom, but I’m really happy with it so far!

So this is how the apartment building looks from the outside. The colors is partly inspired by the apartment building that I’m currently living in. I’m not going to do much to the third floor except furnish it with the basics for my landlady. The second floor (specifically the apartment with the built-in balcony) is one that I have a sim in mind for and I’m already furnishing/decorating one of the apartments on the first floor (the one with the balcony) although I currently don’t have any sims for it.

So I decided to start over with a completely clean (no lots or sims) save. I’m using some of my old sims to “breed” (i.e. use the “play with genetics tool”) the new sims. 

This is part of an apartment building I’m working on, I think it’s going to be the room of a newly graduated teacher. However I don’t actually have any teacher sims so I’m going to have to create this sim after having made their room, which could get interesting. 

I also realize that there should be some pictures on the wall above the bed, but I decided once I actually realized I don’t have any playable to live here to add those once I make a sim.

This is Mia. She’s actually Selma’s dog (Selma is Shane’s girlfriend (the guy jogging with Mia)) but Shane needed a workout buddy and Selma had to stay home with Bridgette so here we are.

So I was going to upload some pictures of my pets and then... This woman appeared and she’s been standing at the corner looking miffed for almost an hour (in game time that is)! I know the city has some interesting individuals, but, really?

This is the guy Mary was eating with by the way. His name is Timothy Wallace and he’s 37. If it was a date, Mary’s still got the moves down apparently.

I also spotted Mary Graham (dinner date maybe?) eating out, and realized that I seem to have forgotten to add her wrinkles. Mama’s 53 and she’ not looking it! Either that or she has amazing genes.

One of my favourite things to do when taking other sims out is to pause on arrival and see who else is there. A sim of mine went out to dinner at Odden (my seafood restaurant) and I took some snaps of the patrons.

This is the Kaiser family. Edward is the child and he’s out with his parents Alexander and Henrietta.

It’s taken me way too long but I’ve officially started round 2/year 2016. With the new families each year lasts a total of 152 days, which is a lot (double and then some) compared to my old aging mod. That said, each family only gets 1 day now, as opposed to 2 days like they got with my old mod. I’m also going to do some health rolls so that’ll be interesting. I’ve no clue yet if I’m going to do updates of any sort. If I do it’ll likely be short (very) epistolary-style things (i.e. a Simstagram picture, an MMS with text, Simbook “screenshot”) etc.

There’s something oddly relaxing about sitting down to note down the fertility rates for my sims as well as finish up noting down the last details I need on them. It also makes me fairly geeky I suppose.

Lots of props go to @simlishdistractions who I’m basically ripping off (which is just what I did with my sims 2 ‘hoods) in order to do this.

Once I’m done I just need to re-do my age mod (which I’ve been avoiding forever), update MCC woohoo with the correct amount of days my sims will be pregnant and I’ll be back to playing proper rounds again.

I also need to figure out how/where I want to keep my notes. As it is most of it is in my Flashnote + Excel programs, but I’d like at least the notes (Excel is saved on my live account) someplace where I can get to them online. I might do a blog, even though I don’t really think I’ll be blogging (outside of Tumblr posts anyway). 

I also caught a Pikachu today, it appeared in front of my front door of all places so that was nice.

The last student left to introduce is Leo, who is the sim I was meaning to add to the dorm (yet somehow I wound up adding Lucas a well). Don’t be fooled by his adorableness though (unrelated, Aimi looks adorable in the back of his selfie).

The day after they went out together, Leo’s dad called and asked if he wanted to join him at a Bear Night at a bar downtown. Leo said yes and brought Lucas along. Pretty soon though Leo’s dad bailed and Leo and Lucas was left alone. They hung out the bar for awhile and Leo talked a little with the bartender, Aubree as well.

When her shift ended he asked her to hangout which she did, not long after Leo rolled a wish to woohoo with her and well... I guess Aubree’s face in that one photo says it all, huh? Either way they did their thing, Leo went home (leaving Aubree napping on a couch, ouch!).

The next day Aubree called and asked him out for a date (to the same nightclub, why you’d go on a date at a nightclub and not say, a bar, lounge or cafe I don’ know). They met, they got re-acquainted with the closet aaaand it ended with Aubree telling Leo never to call her again (fair enough, though I do feel the need to point out that she asked him out, not the other way around).

However, I felt the need to give her a little make-over (in part because I really need to remove/fix those eyebags that ALL my homeless sims get) and now I like her, a lot. Now what?

I should also note that Leo rolled a wish to tell her a funny joke (after like 2 wishes to woohoo, 3 to kiss he finally wished for something friendlier but I’m starting to think that’s his way of saying it’s over).

All of this also sort of make me want a blog again, if only so I can have a record some place.

As I mentioned I’ve been playtesting my uni dorm (and added some guys as well, including he one I was actually meaning to add) and I decided to do a sort of orientation week (and by week I mean 4 day-orientation). I decided to start it off by bringing them to the local hangout. Some probably recognize it as Deligracy’s Splashback Bar, I just changed the colours around for the fences.

Next they went to check out another place, this time a nightclub, where Aimi, one of the freshmen, fell asleep (swiftly followed by nearly everyone else). Got to love Dianna’s sort of uncomforable smile there!

University introduction part 2.

First image (plus 2nd): So imagine this, you’re a freshman and you’re going out with your dorm mates for the first time. However you’re really into collecting stuff and you see an enticing trash can that might hold some goodies. Do you: a) leave it be and focus on hanging out or b) let your dorm mates know that they’re living with a weirdo and that they ought to make sure to throw their trash away away from home from now on.

If you chose the second option, you might get along well with Martin. He’s normal most of the time, except when you bring him out to drink apparently. He’s studying culinary arts.

Third image: Meet Wen Li, whose name I still love (vennlig means friendly in Norwegian and Wen Li sounds similar). He’s a junior and he only has one picture because he’s a loner and kept getting tense when I brought him out so I left him at home a few times. He’s studying geology.

Fourth image (plus 5th): This is Aimi Kimura. Aimi is... Awkward. At least sometimes. Like the time she ran into a crush of sorts while hanging in the park with some friends and promptly dropped to the ground to do sit-ups as he jogged past (last picture) or that time the same guy invited her out. She decided to bring Dianna along and then he asked Dianna to cloudgaze (on the pavement no less) and Aimi was left standing.. Aw-kward. And then Dianna flirted with him too. Yeah, that was fun. She’s a freshman so she’s still undecided on what she wants to do, but she’s pretty she’ll be awkward at it anyway.

University introduction part 1:

I’m about to post a few pics from my uni playthrough/playtest and figured I might as well do a little introduction as well.

First image (plus 2nd and 3rd): Roxanne and Luis Michaud.

Luis is currently completing his final year, while Roxanne is a sophmore.

Luis is studying music, while Roxanne is studying botany.

Fourth image (plus 5th and 6th): Lucas Casales and Dianna Bailey.

Lucas is currently a sophmore as well. His dad is also Celine’s dad (the premade I made over and placed in my world). He’s studying science.

Dianna (who despite her last name has nothing to do with the university except sharing a surname) is also completing her final year and is studying computer science.
