i know this is just what emily always says but somehow it feels particularly pointed when sunday is so bad at taking care of herself 😭 in this case even reflected in her bad hunger meter from survivalistic in the bottom-right LMAO

the main reason i'm really excited about calico desert unlocking to help with the tailor challenge. (plus access to mummies which drop cloth.)

the other reason i'm excited about calico desert unlocking for the challenge is that sandy sells shirts, including ones that are normally only available through character creation!!

managed to get at least one clothing item with some of the cloth i got. i needed to change my outfit soooo badly LOL it had been driving me nuts!!

stardew valley fair time.

god i went to welwick and i know it's just telling me that jodi is the non-romanceable NPC i'm closest with but it does also feel like welwick is saying sunday will be in the hospital in the future. not unlikely, honestly.

also this!!! gnashes my teeth. i'm supposed to be romancing emily in this file (at least initially) for the tailor challenge, since there's some clothing which is unfortunately locked behind her 14-heart event. in my head it's like... sunday's emotional intelligence is awful. sunday can barely tell what her own emotions are. sunday gravitates toward people often seeking out financial security bc of her history bc she needs stability that desperately in her life and that's how she's historically managed to get any stability. so i keep imagining that for awhile, she's only just friends with sam? never considers him as anything else, doesn't have feelings for him for a long time. (even if she could identify them.) so it's not until she gets more stable on her own that she even has the capacity to consider how she actually feels? about her relationship with emily? and realizes she's not actually in love with her.

i keep picturing that she probably starts to feel something for sam after his 8-heart event, assuming she's more financially stable by then so she has more security (even without emily helping her out). and so she will ultimately end up with him after divorcing emily. (there will be some messiness in between bc again, emotional intelligence bad.) but man. it's gonna take awhile, first.

i have this so clearly in my mind that i really gotta just sit down and write it one day.

finally upgrading my pickaxe for the first time now that i've unlocked calico desert LMAO i think i deserve it. my money situation has just been. unreal but also fun, honestly.

genuinely love this whole arc with his dad. godddd do i ever wish we got to see more about kent's PTSD beyond that one event you get with him and jodi... particularly because i'd love to see him!! interact with sam when he's so clearly aware something is going on!!!!

god this is so real for playing drum kit lksjldjlj i wish we got to see abigail be a bit more involved in the whole band storyline!! if i ever get into modding heart events, i swear...

it was only through digging through emily's schedule strings that i saw that she has all this dialogue for visiting sandy??? i gotta see if i can follow her when she goes to visit her, next time...

The A.S.S trio remastered. This time, i wanted to add some details about the designs that cannot be fully appreciated. And some hc's.

Abigail:

- 22 y.o

- has a secret tattoo.

- Emily gave her an undercut, but you can only see it if her hair is tied up.

- she still has her blue bow, but it's tied very at the end of her hair (like a mini ponytail.)

- did her piercings herself.

- her aesthetic wants to resemble both, Seb and Sam, but still being her own.

- she was probably into Haley at some point. But as she got to know her better, she lost interest.

- adopted a stray black cat, which lives secretly in her room.

- she ripped her leggings on purpose.

- very into goth music and fashion.

- Rasmodious secretly gave her her sword. But she never knew it was him.

- sarcastic, a little passive-aggressive, and competitive.

- has dark humor, she likes to tease Sam that she will use him as a sacrifice one day.

Sebastian:

- 24 y.o

- has a bracelet with a small toad charm on it.

- has a tattoo on his arm, but it's rarely seen (since he never takes off his sweatshirt.)

- smells like motorcycle oil almost all the time.

- he's wearing socks with cute frogs on them right now.

- probably wears glasses from spending so much time on the screen.

- paints his nails with black marker when he's bored.

- probably the most mature of the group.

- hella shy.

Sam:

- 24 y.o

- hyperactive asf.

- has many skate bruises and scars (like the ones on his face.)

- his skate tricks never go his way. His clothes are always dirty and torn because of this.

- Jodi gets tired of getting him new clothes or sewing up the broken ones, letting him walk with what he has (he doesn't mind at all.)

- very talkative, outgoing, and sloppy.

- the golden retriever of the group.

- smells like deodorant. Too much deodorant.

- Mikey from TMNT personality.

- He probably tried to integrate Alex into the group sometime, but for reasons, he couldn't.

- gets very invested in whatever catches his attention.

- fingerguns to flirt.

another bundle done... but MORE IMPORTANTLY... finally got sam's three-heart event.

thinking a lot about sam's emotional intelligence and how he's had to navigate this complex situation with his dad and the threat of his being killed. having to be a stand-in for his father while being only just an adult himself. (i'd imagine late teens or early 20s? given jodi's comment on how sam's "basically a man" now) i feel like i see sam get a lot of flack for being irresponsible, and he definitely is in other areas of life, but emotionally... he's been dealing with a lot since he was pretty young. and helping his family keep things together while his dad is away... in some ways i wonder if his acting the way he does is a direct reaction to what he's had to deal with? being forced to grow up too young, but not wanting to relinquish that childishness and lack of responsibility...

plus also the way that he shirks authority? his comment about not caring about the governor during the luau, getting in trouble with mayor lewis... it's a dynamic that's really interesting especially when thinking about how his dad is a soldier, too. we don't know what kent's like before, but we at least know now that kent seems to be all about Structure and is struggling without it, and believes too much freedom to be a problem. (from his sunday heart level 4 line.)

(as an aside, i really wonder what kent thinks of sam when he gets back, and how sam seems so much his opposite.)

i love how again the choice you get to make here is picking up on that division we see with sam? where with his brother it's ultimately about helping vincent hang on to his childhood for a little longer, or telling him the truth, like sam's aware of...

sunday choosing the "worse" option. sam's reaction is still interesting, though. it reminds me of how he also has this one line when he's married where he says: "I hope Vincent's not too lonely now that I'm gone… I kinda felt responsible for the little guy. But, life's all about change… right? Kids need to learn that, eventually… Or else adulthood will destroy them." digging through dialogue line code, you can see when some dialogue is a direct response to dialogue options you've picked before. this isn't one of them. so that this is something he thinks by default is interesting... sam feels like a happy-go-lucky guy in a lot of ways, but then when it comes to stuff like this, he feels really... almost pessimistic? it really feels like the result of having to deal with everything with his dad from a young age.

since it was halfway through fall, i got antsy enough about missing sam's three-heart event that i threw some stardrop tea at him 😭 i couldn't take the risk!!!!

testing out more dialogue for my more dynamic dialogue mod! thinking about revising this one so instead it's more about it being a waste of time, instead.

i figure i may as well post previews of my mod from time-to-time! i'm playing with it on my save, anyway. just constantly adding new lines to it... i really want something on the scale of the canon-friendly dialogue mod, if not bigger, somehow.

got ridiculously lucky and immediately got the rock rejuvenation special order, which i really wanted for the tailor challenge!! i had a ton of gems sitting around since i can't sell them, too. so i was able to fulfill it instantly.

also managed to get friendship 101 from a ticket!! really hoping it'll help me get sam's 3-heart event in time since i have until the end of fall...

and managed to get one bundle closer to unlocking calico desert!! soon...

SUNDAY KEEPS DISAPPOINTING MAYOR LEWIS... i've never seen this dialogue before and can't get over how mad he is at her LMAOO

also i love the extra dialogue from robin where she just volunteers sebastian to help instead?? tbh glad i disappointed lewis if it meant getting to see that.
