Today is the real world equivalent to the in-universe date of birth creation of one of my main characters, Regon. Thus I decided to redraw the various character designs he’s gone through since his conception a decade ago.

C17, also known as the Chronoguard; a misnomer, as neither his powers nor his position have much to do with time.

Once human, now a servant of the Ancients, he is tasked with preventing the gods of the Red Rings Galaxy and its alternate universes from escaping their imprisonment. To enable him to carry out his duties, he has been empowered with Void. As a result, he can enter and navigate the rift between universes at will and detect the disturbances left behind by others who have done so; in addition, magic, chaos - the power of the gods - and all abilities derived from these are negated in his presence.

The warhammer he wields can manifest chains of void, to bind his quarry and prevent their escape as he returns them to their proper place.

The One, an ancient construct created by primordial gods when the universes they created began to rot. Intended to consume these dying realities, it instead devoured without discretion, and was slated for destruction. However, a war between these gods and another group of ancients prevented them from doing so, and after their defeat, none were left with the power to dismantle the creature. It now mindlessly roams between multiverses, consuming all that lies in its path.

Regon Syntarus, my character in FFXIV. Would’ve been Regon Dagon but the game wouldn’t accept Dagon as a last name for some reason.

Haven’t posted anything in a while so here’s something for the 4/13 Trapped In A Residence Day. Some characters that I was gonna use in a homestuck rp type thing with some friends like six or seven years ago. From left to right, we have: Alex Nevron, some teenager that accidentally discovered thaumaturgy while staying with his godfather out in the middle of nowhere in the Alaskan wilderness. Insists that it is a scientific endeavor and definitely not magic. He is not a mage, he is a scientist. Magic isn’t real. Obviously.

EsherSprite, Alex’s kernelsprite that prototyped with a robot(?) corpse(???) Alex found in his godfather’s basement. Knows a thing or two about thaumaturgy and has been teaching Alex beyond what accidental discoveries can provide.

Alex Nevron, Alex’s godfather and current guardian who has the same name as him. And looks like an older version of him. A strange coincidence, surely. Donned an old set of armor and sword when he and his younger counterpart entered the Medium. Practitioner of Thaumaturgy in the Domain of Blood.

Andire Adrick, blue-blooded troll alchemist. Hunts other trolls of equal or higher ranking blood for sport, claiming their hives and amalgamating them into his own; a towering spire that grows with each victory, decorated with the petrified corpses of his fallen enemies.

That’s what I can remember of their concepts, anyways. I don’t think they ever actually saw any use. In this form, that is, since Esher and the older Alex were directly imported from completely unrelated shenanigans and the younger Alex and Andire are AU versions of other characters, also from those completely unrelated shenanigans. Fun times.

Two survivors of a long-dead multiverse, ancient incarnations from a bygone era. A slain dragon reborn in the fires of the underworld, and a raven neglected and forgotten who stole the power of the gods to take their fate into their own hands. Together, they travel the void seeking a new place to call their own. In other words, I felt like redrawing old designs of some characters.

Chris ‘Shendon’ Dagon, the Shade. Second of the Four Sons of Dagon, aligned with the arcane element of shadow, which he primarily uses for stealth in covert operations. An assassin, a spy, a scout, anything that benefits from stealth and a firearm. His weapon of choice, the Black Dragon, holds the distinction of being the only “Ultra Caliber” small arm in the Empire; more akin to a portable autocannon than a rifle.

When Zelek was chosen to recover Regon, Chris was chosen to accompany him. While the former was selected for the strength of his magic, the latter was selected for his experience in navigating the unknown.

Zelek Dagon, the Archmage. First of the Four Sons of Dagon, one of the eight Dagon Series II clones produced by the West Band Empire from shards of Regon’s soul extracted before his disappearance. Aligned with the arcane element of water, from which he derives powerful ice magic. When the Empire discovered the nature of Regon’s disappearance and re-opened the gateway into the multiverse, he was chosen to travel through the portal in order to find and retrieve the lost Imperator.

The secret of Regon’s strength: extreme levels of magitech augmentation. All the better to lead the Empire’s conquest of the galaxy.

Regon Dagon, the Imperator. Prince and Warmage of the West Band Empire, alchemically cloned from a shard of the immortal Emperor Syntar's soul.

He is on a journey through the multiverse after being sent there by a trio of demons seeking to invoke a plot trope and force a reunion with his long-lost brother and fellow clone, who is also out in the multiverse because of reasons.

Andire, skeletal alien alchemist. Wields a blade infused with eldritch chaos science (very scientific)
