Recently, Clangen named one of my cats ‘Oatoat’ and as much as I wanted to keep it, I renamed her Oatflower. Her mate’s name is Almonddust. I think they’re gluten intolerant </3
we love to see our flourless power couple

Archive (or maybe Archive) is a valid name I think? Arc or arch like the shape, hive like a beehive.
This is true!

favorite thing abt this blog is using extremely specific species to justify names when the books are (mostly) just. Moon. Leaf. Fire
i've seen people come back after doing extensive research on the names and habitats of flora and fauna and explain ChickenJockey does in fact work
We're out here putting up thumbtacks and string while the characters in the book are like oh this one has spots. Honey let's call her Spottedkit

I know what it means very well, but would cats? It has Latin roots, and their "translated" (in a Tolkien-esque sense) words don't even include certain English words like "summer".
i guess we'll never know bc you forgot to ask about what word

Note
But would cats even know what "stellar" means?
"Stellar" means "relating to stars". And stars are pretty important in clan life.

could a cat conceivably be named bigback
Quite feasibly

Now, we all know that names with the prefix “star” are likely not canon compliant, but what about the prefix “stellar”?
I like your problem solving, anon!

What about these My Little Pony names?
Starcatcher
Stardasher
Rainbow Dash
Twinkle Twirl
Skywishes
Thistle Whistle
First two don't work, rest should be fine.

Tobacco is a plant, so would it be a valid prefix?

Different naming cultures would make poor Foxheart's name actually make sense.
[In reference to this post]
Good point! Maybe ThunderClan cats would see the name as deceiptful and uncaring, but others might take it to mean bold, cunning, unpredictable.

There's a G3 My Little Pony named Comet Tail, and that always seemed like a warrior cats name to me.
Tumblr media
Ohh, she's pretty! They had a lot of fun with designs during the Crystal Princess line, didn't they? Good memories.
I can see a Cometkit being born during a special astrological event that makes the medicine cats lose their minds. I wonder what clan cats think about, like, Haley's Comet.

Has it ever been confirmed that the -paw suffix is like. A cat paw? Cuz if it isnt, linguistically speaking... A cat could be named Pawpaw. Or a cat could be renamed with the suffix of -paw and they wouldnt know that in english its the same thing as when they were an apprentice
(Im sorry)
...why would they call apprentices a suffix that they don't know? If the -paw suffix isn't referring to paws, what would it be??
