Finale post 🥲
So it took me a couple of days to process the finale. I am someone with adhd, but possibly also autistic, and change has never been easy for me. Tv shows tend to become my special interest, and it hurts to let them go. So def a gut punch with Superman & Lois ending so soon.
But holy cow! They did lois dirty by giving her that ending. The woman who had a lifetime of trauma deserved better. Including Clark because he gave up his life for others countless times. He deserved to truly grow old with her. I love the twins' ending wish we could have seen them in their suits more. Glad they found their own lois. I keep seeing people wanting it to be Sarah and Candice. Like I can already imagine, in a few years this show is gonna be part of the, “maturing is realizing……” trend, with people realizing they shipped a toxic relationship. Also both are brunette, and with what we could see in the finale their kids are blond. So unless she cheats on Jon, blond kids are not possible.
In the end, I loved this show, especially because of the Twins. I saw two people I could relate to so much. Im alot like Jordan in the sense of his social anxiety and him not having friends and only his brother, as well as Jon because of the s3 episode 11 scene in the hospital. Him saying that when he has a big problem, he still has a big problem (unlike jordans powers manifesting making things better.). Basically he feels stuck a lot of time, and as a neurodivergent that's what life feels like to me. So again I am so grateful for this show, I am going to miss it so much!

The most Superman thing about Superman & Lois is that the final season introduced characters that heavily alluded to Brainiac and Darkseid, but Clark's narration about his future in the final episode skips over entirely how he dealt with those two and instead focuses on how he got a dog.

I liked Superman & Lois a lot, okay? For all that I ragged on those ugly kids, it was great. I'd put it as my second favorite Superman show, and that's only because my #1 came on when I was 9 and nothing beats 90's cheese.
But if you're going to do an ending montage instead of fading out on a happy note and letting the audience imagine the best, you have to nail it. Every hit has to be as satisfying as the audience would picture it themselves. The hammer landed juuuust off the nail here.
They didn't even try with the older twin actors lmao
I know the cancer thing is realistic, but this is fiction and there was a whole story plot of Lois fighting. That's ass.
I'm sorry, why would Natalie not be there for her AU mom's passing?
If someone on the production team had the afterthought "What about his dog?" THE EPILOGUE WHERE YOU KILL CLARK OFF IS NOT THE PLACE TO INTRODUCE HIM!!!! You brought a famous dog in just to watch his owner die wtf is wrong with you monsters?!
Clark's "heaven" includes memories of his (still living) teen sons and a repentant Luthor, but not his alien or human parents?
Cut the whole thing, dude. I should be bummed at a good show's ending the normal amount. There's no need to milk it.

As good and emotional as the finale is (I’m still recovering), I still have my gripes about it, here are two that keep coming to mind. Spoilers under the cut
The shows treatment of Lois is so… the entire show was literally a trauma train for her, she couldn’t catch a damn break. She couldn’t even properly celebrate being cancer free because they found out about Clark’s heart in the same episode. It rubs me the wrong way how women in media have to be brutalized and beat down to have meaningful storylines. Don’t get me wrong, I love Lois in this show, I love Bitsie as Lois, but I love her so much that I wish she had a break
Why are Jon and Jordan married to two random women? Don’t get me wrong, Kent grandchildren are a sweet concept, and there’s nothing wrong with them being in heterosexual marriages, but it kinda feels like… they just made them married with kids for the sake of being able to say they’re married with kids. The shows treatment of queer characters has always made me raise a brow. Sarah, a (from what I presume) bisexual character, has a plot line consisting of her cheating. There’s not even a peep of Nat or Jon being queer. I guess they really didn’t want to break the image of Jon being a perfect straight all-star football player. (I wonder how many people in the writers room voted Trump)
Uhh yeah. That’s it for now I think. Still a great show overall, I love the characters, but it’s definitely not perfect. I also wish they would’ve gotten rid of the Timeskip, that way everything didn’t have to be as rushed. I was okay with the year time skip for Lana and JHI’s wedding but 32 years is such a jump, I wish they left the future and end up to the fans and their imagination, but maybe I’m mad because I cried like a baby during the Timeskip scene.

Superman and Lois finale spoilers
I understand that it was a flash forward, so Jon and Jordan had to be older, but it was a bit distracting to be watching Tyler and Bitsie acting their asses off during her death scene, and then the camera flashes to these two random men acting all emotional. Like, who are you?

Okay I've watched the end scene again and now that I can tell which older twin is which -- Jon ended up with the blond and Jordan with the brunette. So I think it's safe to say that Jon/Candice was not endgame. Jordan/Sarah, it's hard to say, but I think if he wound up with Sarah they would've made it much more clear.

I really wish the adult Jon and Jordan had name tags because it took me multiple scenes to figure out which was which.
