92 "wasted" words into event fic. except it's not going to be an event fic and no words are wasted, even if they're cut later. but uh, this wip is being moved out of the exchange treat folder and into general wips, bc I do want to come back to it. I'll give more details after the exchange is revealed, but I did not see something in the dnw, and I don't like any of my ideas of ending the wip without being redacted (I like redacted) luckily this is a treat and I caught it, and I caught it early.

Mahjong Monday had to be rescheduled, so more words than normal for a monday, 323 into the exchange, wrapped up a treat fic, and submitted it to the collection.

Assignment+1 treat was the min goal I wanted to hit when I signed up, that has been hit, and there's plenty of time before the deadline if I want to do more, or I can pivot to other projects. we shall see where the muse decides the words lay.

754 into event fics, wrapped up and submitted one to the exchange collection, let's see what else I can knock out

Their hands joined, Clark could feel the flutter of Bruce’s heartbeat as well as hear it. The man held on just a fraction too tight, if Clark had been a human the grip of Bruce’s fingers would have bordered on unbearably painful.

Three stories tall, the hall had been carved out of solid ice, sunlight filtering through the outside walls to fill the space with shimmering light. Doorways opened in the walls with no apparent way to reach them, though Batman assumed this might be because Kal-El could fly. Against the far wall rose a larger than life statue of two figures holding up a globe. The overall effect was beautiful, but cold and sterile in a way that left Batman feeling like he might be intruding (despite having been invited). Kal-El floated ahead of him, back towards the room, arms spread wide to gesture at the space. “Welcome to the Fortress of Solitude! It’s not much right now, but I hope someday it will be a fitting tribute to what was lost.”

hi hi hello 👁👄👁 so I've lost my mind.

To get us started, Gray wrote an amazing fic and picking one scene to draw was impossible. I went for a reread, I saw this scene in the outline, got bludgeoned by the muse, and here we are. This process was amazing, I am so thankful to have been paired with Gray. The pleasure of being paired so early in the process was the outline inspired me, then as I started thinking of this piece, Gray made changes to the scenes to create this moment of parallels. It really feels like we got to collab, and I was truly inspired by Gray constantly.

I'm also thankful for the event runners and their endless patience with me through the entire event, including my travel for family shite and me actually destroying a part of my painting! The other participants in the server were also fantastic-- everyone's been so excited and supportive. All in all, an absolutely incredible experience.

Fun fact, this piece is born of stress! I nearly destroyed the watercolor painting, thought I'd ruined everything and then proceeded to do this in the span of 3ish days. It was fun, enjoyed the process all in all. Legitimately, had so much fun and quietly fumed when I had to be away from working on it. 10/10, can't wait to be possessed by the muse again.

Amusingly, Gray and I were 🤝 about Battinson's eye grease without any sort of communication on the matter. In some weird mind meld of smut, we worked on the blow job scene at the same time. Somehow, I matched my art to the scene as Gray was writing it.

Also, didn't realize yesterday until after I'd made the update, but yesterday I hit a 50 day writing streak, so today makes 51. Can I get a wahoo.

829 into event fic, another day like that and it'll hopefully be complete. (lbr w me probably 2 more days like that. at a minimum I need a fair chunk of words and then some edits for flow) but very good progress.

One of the things about writing that feels the silliest is when there’s a detail in the scene that the character doesn’t think is important but you know the reader will know it’s important because otherwise it wouldn’t be there, so you’re just sort of making eye contact with the reader over the character’s head and whispering “don’t tell them”

beta day! but redacted title is finished! I'll definitely share it once posting week starts, I didn't write it but I take my role as a beta very seriously! and I have reread it several times now...

but that means tomorrow I am free to jump back to writing projects!!!
