Meet Obie our current Secretary/Treasurer! He is a junior studying Biology on a pre-med track with a minor in Psychology. He is an active member of our campus progressive community, serving as Vice President of Spectrum and working with the Intercultural Diversity Center. He is also a Health Ambassador with Project Health, making weekly presentations about various health topics throughout the year. Outside of class, he loves to sing, play piano, and make frequent trips to Krispy Kreme. We are excited for all that he will bring to URGE UA this year and we can't wait to meet you all very soon!

Isabelle is a sophomore majoring in African American Studies and Political Science. Although from New Hampshire, she has embraced the use of y'all enthusiastically. Her interest in reproductive justice stems from its importance in every area of social justice work #intersectionalism. She is also passionate about vegan food, #BlackLivesMatter, and bringing feminism to hockey.

Throughout the week we will be posting new officer bios so y'all can get to know our new exec board before the year starts! First up is our president, Joanna Urli. Joanna is a senior studying Biology with Women's Studies and Psychology minors. She prides herself on being an intersectional feminist and is hoping to share that with campus through her time as URGE UA's president. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching musicals, and volunteering. We are all excited for y'all get to know Joanna and all of us as this year begins!

Slight reminder to my non-Rican friends that the US leeches billions upon billions of dollars from us, we have no say in anything especially anymore with the “reform” that has taken away most of our rights, we pay same taxes as you people in outrageous numbers (right now at 11.5% on everything), AND have the most expensive import embargo that being the USA’s. All of this is being ignored by the media and CNN, FOX and US media outlets keep pushing that WE’RE the ones leeching off of the mainland and it’ll cost YOU guys money to help us. This is bullshit. They’re killing us here and taking our rights away slowly. Please stop ignoring this.
