Noble Metals - A Simlish Font

Hey everyone! I was still in the mood to work on fonts after I finished the last one, and apparently I'm on an art deco jag (I got obsessed with that O after seeing the font on @grilledcheese-aspiration's preview images XD), so...here's another! Previews, details and download below!

Noble Metals is an art deco Simlish display font. It only comes in uppercase (lowercase just wasn't practical here), plus numbers and some symbols:

This is probably my best font so far from a technical standpoint. I stumbled onto a function of the font tool that I wish I'd noticed months ago (actual out-loud quote at my moment of discovery: "are you f**king kidding me?!" 😂), but regardless, it allowed me to design much better, smoother characters this time. I'm especially proud of that ampersand. XD

(The zero can double as an O if you don't want to use the round O with the dot, which works better in the middle of the words than at the beginning.)

I did a lot of kerning on this one, but the usual manual kerning recommendation applies. Attribution is appreciated, and I’d love to see your projects if you use it! Please do not use for commercial purposes or redistribute the font itself.

Streamline Moderne - A Simlish Font

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you're all doing well! I nearly forgot I'd started this font awhile ago, but I stumbled across it today and decided to finish it up. Previews, details and download below!

Streamline Moderne is an art deco-inspired Simlish display font. It comes in two versions -- solid and outline -- both with uppercase and lowercase letters, plus numbers and a handful of symbols:

I didn't go wild with the symbols this time since this is most definitely a display font.

This started out as an experiment in geometry, and I won't bore you with all the details, but here's the upshot -- since most of the characters are basically rectangles, the kerning is actually pretty damn good by default. I always recommend a little manual kerning if your software allows for it, but this one won't take much effort.

Lorem Ipsim - A Simlish Font

Hi everyone! It only took a month, but I finally finished this font! 🥂 Previews, details and download below!

Lorem Ipsim is a Simlish serif font, and it comes in uppercase and lowercase, plus numbers and most symbols:

It works best as a display font...

...although it's pretty good as a text font as well (I just didn't design it with that in mind since there aren't many scenarios that involve large amounts of copy in the Sims):

Like Rocket Summer, there are a couple of things to know about this font before using. I kerned this as best I could, but like a lot of fonts, it generally benefits from some hand kerning. The high baseline is also present here, so you may want to drop that if your graphics program allows. It doesn't affect functionality, it's just a bit annoying if you're working with a large block of text.

This is my second font and my first time working with lowercase characters (which is why this took so long...I know I keep saying this, but man, some Simlish characters are just weird lol), so if I borked anything, please let me know!

Attribution is appreciated, and I'd love to see your projects if you use it! Please do not use for commercial purposes or redistribute the font itself.

Rocket Summer - A Simlish Font

Hi everyone! I'm super excited to share my very first font with you today! I posted a WIP of this last week when it was still pretty rough, but I've since refined some of the characters and (mostly) fixed the kerning, so I think it's ready to go forth into the world. Previews, details and download below the cut!

Named after the first chapter of Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles, Rocket Summer comes in uppercase only, with numbers and most symbols:

It works best as a display typeface (for text like headings, titles, etc). It's not really meant for large amounts of copy like paragraph text.

There are a couple of things you should know about this font before you download. I fixed the crazy tracking and added some kerning, but if your graphics program has a function for kerning, I highly recommend you use it. Simlish characters are a little weird, and I've found most Simlish fonts benefit from some manual kerning (if you're not familiar with kerning, this is a great guide, and also includes a link to a fun little kerning game for easy practice). The characters also sit quite high above the baseline, so you may want to shift them down if your program allows it (this doesn't impact functionality, it's just a little annoying when highlighting text for editing).

Attribution is appreciated (mostly I'd just love to see your projects if you do use it!). Please do not use for commercial purposes or redistribute the font itself.
