i didn't have much interest in watching aquarion at the start of the season but its quickly become my fav of the season

its just been so long since i've seen a show that confused me so much from minute to minute

the animation is so ass though and i will never keep quiet about it

aw i just noticed that the first half when it's mostly just about rin playing out the harem for eiji just has her on the cover where as the volumes where eiji and rin are a couple have both of them on the cover cause the story's not just about her and her feelings alone anymore thats so cuteeee ( ∩´͈ ᐜ `͈∩)

i've been watching akakill at a steady pace of 6 eps a day and so far only one character has died per watch sesh, which means tomorrow is gonna be a bloodbath

10 years late to this conversation but tbh akame ga kill is genuinely good so far and i didnt know the mangaka's 2 other most famous works but if i did i would have probably figured that out beforehand

being the creator of yuki yuna is a hero is a good tell that the series is going to be good and chained soldier is a good tell that the female characters are going to be treated at least decently respectfully

aquarion moe is really great so far, def one of my top 3 for the szn so far, but the entire time i was watching all i could think about was fucking tenkai knights

like its just mentally ill tenkai knights and i don't know how to handle this realization

man, psychic school wars was bad but it was bad in a really unsatisfying way

the first 40 minutes were so unnecessary it was laughable, but a lot of the big ideas still came through in a way that made it incredibly obvious that the fault is with the adaptation, not the source material it feels a lot more like a classroom of the elite than a seven days war if that makes any sense

and now i mostly just feel frustrated because i want to read the original novel but it was never translated into english which means its being thrown on the pile of 'things to eventually get to once i've learned japanese' and it's more frustrating than every other entry on that list BECAUSE I CAN TELL THAT IT'S REALLY REALLY GOOD and most of the other things on that list have something adaptation wise that's about on par with the source material (except rokuaka but that's a very special exception for some reason)

anyways this is just my super long winded way of saying that i'm probably going to be obsessed w this franchise until i can finally read the novel

finally finished the first haruhi light novel, getting thru the first 5 volumes is gonna be pretty difficult tbh because of just how good the anime is, but i will stay strong

i'm trying to hold myself to reading for at least an hour every day so it hopefully won't take too long

before i move onto the next book (which is def my fav arc so it'll probs be a much quicker read) im probably gonna finally get around to finishing wataoshi, its been sitting in my paused for over a year and i rlly want to finally close it out

decided im gonna watch psychic school wars tonight, which im pumped for because its one of my fav types of anime of all time: sub 2 hour anime movies that no ones heard of and are honestly probably pretty bad

smallest purge of all time, i finished 1 manga and dropped 2

non non biyori - dropped after 1 chapter 7/10

the anime was one of my first and it just improves on the manga so much. it has one of my favorite begginnings and osts in all of anime and the series is just kind of floundering without that. good, just doesnt live up to its excellent anime

one week family - completed 7/10

yippee cute 1 volume bl yayy!! chapter 3 had one of the best soft moments in bl and it rocked, i wish there was more build-up to the confession, but they kissed so i am willing to let it slide. it didn't do anything roundbreaking and mostly followed the modern bl formula. i didn't really care for the fact that kei also knew ren before the series started, but thats pretty typical of these kinds of manga i think. the art is good but nothing to write home about, the blushing was cute as hell as always, though. reccomend if you're a fan of short bl series, you aren't missing much if it isn't the type of thing you usually read

what the fuck. as a huge fan of he happiness collection by utata-p this was so painful. it was so boring and it felt really clear that the wroter had no idea what the plan was when they started it. i had initially planned to read through the 8 available chapters and then drop it, but my browser crashed in the middle of chapter seven and i just dont care enough to go back and finish it. it was just... so boring. it felt like a fan project through and through, which isn't always a bad thing but it definetly was here. i'd rather just rewatch the album than read anymore of this. bad. don't read it unless you're looking for a shitty palette cleanser after reading peak, but even then you can do better.

finally watched the first ep of unnamed memory act 2 and i am so happy to report that it is everything i hoped it would be and more

the pacing was so fucking ridiculous the episode had to have covered at least 6 chapters of content, oscar is a fucking asshole now and tinasha is some clingy pussy, the entirety of season 1 besides the last episode doesnt fucking matter at all, the story boarding is nonsense, no scene lasted longer than maybe 2 minutes, and the animation is balls

im so pumped for this garbage
