Life has been pretty hectic lately... in the month of July, I'll be entering into my third trimester and moving into a new house! Recently, while staring far too long at a potato chip, it occurred to me that the ridges could possibly be used to create a lenticular effect. So I got out some chip dip (and the smallest paint brush I have) to test it out. I started with a simple 2-frame illustration of a football and a basketball, then I painted a little sour cream and onion dip bird. 🥔🕊️

The good plot twists aren't the ones that are wild left turns out of nowhere, they're the ones that make all the other little things that didn't quite add up before suddenly click
#my favorite plot twists are the ones that suddenly recontextualize something that has been happening the whole time#you thought this one thing a character kept doing was just a fun little quirk?#PLOT TWIST - it's been a trauma response this whole time and now the action comes across completely different upon reread#maybe that's more of a reveal than a plot twist but idk I just love when that happens

Happy 20 Years Everyone!
#man...#I remember when the series premiered on nickelodeon#and I initially thought I wouldn't like it for whatever reason#but they played the premiere so many times I eventually gave up and watched it#and nine year old me was instantly proven wrong#I think atla was probably the first show I ever actively followed from beginning to end#the only episode I missed was The Swamp#didn't end up catching a rerun of that one for a while#the struggle of not being able to watch episodes on demand whenever you want
