Once the protects drop, Excier prepares himself to be potentially approached and maybe even punched in the face. Wether by the stranger or his dusknoir was completely left unknown to him. He felt one of his pokeballs wiggle in his pocket, the pokemon inside feeling his nervousness, and the man only pats his pocket gently, trying to reassure the ball that he'll be fine.

"Your concerns are duly noted," he replied, tilting his head to the side. He took some steps forward, closing in on the trio with no hesitations and potentially illbegotten confidence. "Rest assured I would have rather taken the hit myself, had that been the case."

"I thought not you'd get so close to your pokemon when its clearly engaged in a battle. You know that thats fucking reckless, don't you?" he accused, as though he hadn't done the same when latching onto blacephalons arm, trying to calm it down. The difference was, that Excier held little concern for what would happen to himself, should be hit by a pokemon's attack. The scars on his hands paid witness to his reckless abandon.

The whitehaired man stopped a few meters away from Dusknoir and the smaller stranger, him now shoving his hands into the pockets of his grey sports jacket.

"Besides," he added, with a somewhat cocky grin on his face, "were blacephalon to try and attack any child, I would have had more than one partner with me who would be ready to put it in its place. That's how I acquired this guy in the first place."

he recognises none of the names the other is spouting. isn't even sure they're even pokemon by this point. maybe they're experimental beings? like mewtwo? that would explain a lot. the little ghost trainer is still angry, glaring over at the other with a ferocity that his tiny waif like body doesn't seem capable of.

the shield remains until the being disappears back into an odd looking pokeball. iarla has seen a lot of pokeballs, he's had all sorts dropped off at tearmann house, but he's never seen one quite like that. it only solidifies his idea of experimental beings. gone and hilda drops her hold on protect, the shimmering light dropping as she sags in the air from the energy it took to maintain the shield for so long. she's caught by her trainer and pulled close, her open back pressed against the soft fabric of his coat.

"if you're aware of it's hatred towards other pokemon, then why was it out of it's ball in the first place?" he snaps, fingers stroking along the shedinja's carapace in soothing motions. it's helping both of them, hiding the faint tremble of his hands from the shock of what could have very well been his death if his pokemon hadn't acted fast enough. mu is still floating behind him, still hissing and spitting.

"what would you have done if my pokemon hadn't known protect? if you'd have killed me and them with your lack of control over what is clearly a very dangerous creature. why shouldn't i report you? what happens if it's a new trainer and their fucking level five weedle it decides to fight next time? what then?" he is beyond angry at the man's blasé attitude. like his pokemon hasn't just nearly committed murder.

[mun] this goober (except in shiny) is Excier's most aggressive pokemon, lmao. He doesn't have it for that long yet, and has yet to earn its trust and respect. Thats why it practically does whatever it wants, until he gets a grip on that.
