"Oh, they have to get rid of the headphone jack to improve water resistance" I literally have a cell phone that's rated for recording videos up to three metres underwater. It has a headphone jack. They didn't have to do any such thing.

I'm so pissed right now. I know that fabric has been declining in quality for a while but I just bought new pajamas from kmart and they are literally see through. Not just through one layer of fabric either; I can see through the leg, that is, through 2 layers of fabric. These aren't clothes. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have strained soup through cheesecloth thicker than these pants. These are men's flannel pajamas, the kind people wear in winter, and they are made if shittier thinner fabric than even the most bargain bin bullshit halloween costumes. This "flannel" feels like plastic and is thinner than a chux wipe. Why is this even for sale.

Well, I told myself I would stay off tumblr for a day and I more or less succeeded. Good for me. And I knew I would see a lot of nonsense the moment I logged back on, but please guys. I have seen Elon Musk throw a Nazi salute about twelve times in the last twenty minutes. I get it. I'm outraged too. But is it really helping to look at it every other minute? What are we achieving here? Can we not just talk about it? Without seeing hd footage of his blatant display of fascist escalation? Please?

You can fight AI in indie publishing by leaving reviews.
Seriously.
Ai-generated garbage is flooding the self-publishing market. It works as a numbers game- put out ENOUGH fake crap and eventually someone’s aunt will buy them the ebook as an unwanted gift, and you’ll have made two dollars. This tactic works at SCALE, which means real independent titles are now a needle amongst a haystack of slop.
If you have read a book this year that has less than 5 reviews, your rating is an algorithmic spotlight on that needle.
A one sentence review helps. Really. A star rating helps if you really can’t think of anything to say, but if you can muster up even “I laughed at the part about the tabby cat” you are doing indie authors a favor like you cannot believe.
(Also if you left a review on one of my books this year I am kissing you so softly on your forehead and I adore you)

so the tiktok ban was literally just propaganda for the trump administration. like. we all agree with that right. this is just laughably transparent. the ban wasn't even 24 hours. not even a whole day. to quote my infinitely funnier mutual from Discord, "Misha Collins was bisexual longer than TikTok was banned"

One should always have at least 2 craft projects going. That way, when one of them is messed up and misbehaving, you can switch to another, and let the first one sit there and think about what it's done.

Image Description: A quote tweet from muad 🔻 dyke (@CadenToMyHazel) that reads, "strong contender for hardest pic of all time" about user Rakesh Kumar's post that reads as such:
First lesbian wedding in the history of the Philippines in a revolutionary base.
below the caption is an image of two brown women kissing, around them are men in military fatigues, framing the couple with the barrels of their guns.
End ID.
Here's an Inquirer (Filipino News Outlet) article about it: "Love is love in communist movement"
And since no one reads crap besides the headline, here's some quotes to put the event into context.
It was the first lesbian wedding in Mindanao and it happened under the canopy of trees guarded by heavily armed guerrillas. The first such wedding was reportedly held somewhere in Metro Manila.
About Maymay falling in love:
“I was really speechless with admiration when I first saw her. Diane just had a bath that time and she had not combed her hair. I immediately fell for her,” said a giggly Maymay.
An optimistic excerpt:
“Our wedding is an assertion for equal love. We are all humans and we should all have the same right to choose whom to love and be a partner for life,” Diane said.
The article is a feature about two Filipino women, Maymay and Diane talking about their love story. The courtship process Maymay had to go through, and Diane's struggles as a Muslim woman in a same sex relationship. Her family forgoing the wedding ceremony—which was administered by the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and guarded by the New People's Army (the CPP's armed collective.)
For further context, here's a Rappler article about the CPP from 2022: "Things to know about the Communist Party of the Philippines."

“Humans are inherently selfish--" Then why do so many cultures value hospitality, to the point of dictating it in their religions? Why is it so common for hosts to offer their visitors their best food, and as much of it as they can? At some point, multiple cultures decided that they knew what it felt like to be alone and vulnerable, and promised each other to never let those who stay with them feel that way. That doesn't sound very "inherently selfish" to me.
