Froyo / Female / 23. I have a lot of bad habits that I'm trying to turn around. I'm learning how to motivate myself to be productive and study, despite living alone and struggling with depression and anxiety. I do not glorify these things, I'm simply looking for a way to manage and improve.

I suffered but I made it.
I got a B in Political science because I was notorious for skipping classes despite there being quizzes every day, oops
I studied for all of my finals last minute. 5.5 years in college and I still do this shit. But it’s because I keep getting away with it

Waiting on Dendrology lab to start. One of my favorite classes.
We just walk through the woods and wetlands and the teacher points at a tree and tells us about them.
And by next class we have to be able to identify them.

One of my favorite antelopes, purely based on how beautiful and extra their markings are
Animal of the Day!
Bongo (Tragelaphus eurycerus)
Conservation Status- Near Threatened
Habitat- Central Africa
Size (Weight/Length)- 272 kg; 2.2 m
Diet- Leaves; Grasses; Fruits; Roots
Cool Facts- Surprisingly enough, the bongo is one of the few nocturnal antelopes. Living in thick jungles, small herds of females pick their way through dense vegetation while on high alert. Being extremely skittish, bongo flee at the slightest branch creak. After meeting a lone male bongo during the mating season, the female gives birth after 10 months. The calf stays with the mother for almost 2 years, and female calves often stay with their mother’s herd for life. Due to their habitat and nomadic lifestyle, little is known about bongo populations in the wild but conservation groups are hard at work to protect them from deforestation and illegal poaching for their beautiful horns.
Rating- 13/10 (No relationship with the instrument.)

If you have a chance, some free time and mental capacity, you should look into and learn about not only the fundamental science of climate change but also the current happenings and solutions being put forward.
This is one of the most important issues, if not THE most important issue, of our generation. And we need to be aware of the severity of the problem, and the false solutions presented to us.
Climate change has so many outreaching effects on our lives and the lives of the people and ecosystems across the planet.
We have finally moved on from debating about whether or not climate change is real, as the evidence is overwhelming. Now the conversation is on how to fix it. And believe me, a lot of old companies, especially fossil fuel companies, recognize the threat and have plenty of resources to bamboozle the public and save themselves. Greenwashing. This includes investing in carbon capture. The investment should be in decarbonizing from the start.
This stuff matters.

I got home from work at 2am but managed to drag myself to my classes early this morning! I did it!!
Up next I need to complete a writing assignment for bio lab, and complete geology homework by tomorrow morning.
Now I’ll take a nap bc I haven’t slept much over the past several days.

Some cool plant flowing off the edge of a pedestrian bridge where we were taking water measurements for biology lab this morning.
I finished my paper with time to spare the other day. And I got back from yesterdays work shift at about 2am this morning, but managed to still make it to my 9am class! Small wins to boost morale.
Ill post this plant to my iNaturalist and see what comes up.

Here I am, writing a paper that I thought was due next week but is due tomorrow morning. 6-10 pages long and I’ve done this to myself.
I already had all of my resources for this topic. I’m writing about the fundamental ecology involved in the decline of aspen trees, Populus tremuloides, in areas like Colorado. Talking about the trees themselves will be easy because there is a lot written about them, but I need to figure out the fundamental ecological basis for this.
Time to hit the books and the scientific papers with Study With Me in the background so I don’t get lonely.
