Rose's coffee table book

I recently came into possession of Miniprint Finland 2001, which is an art book of miniature graphics. Now, I don't know anything about art at all, but when I looked at this thing, the first thought I had was "This is definitely a book on Rose's coffee table."

I think all the Vizard have sat down and flipped through this book at least once, whether or not they have interest in art or not. There's not much to do when you're stuck in a (hidden) warehouse all day. So they all have chosen their favorite pieces in the book, or at least ones they find interesting.

When Rose moves back to Soul Society he actually takes this book with him and it lives in the 3rd Division office. Kira has flipped through the book on occasion too, and this piece jives with something deep in him:

I can't be the only one that thinks Shinji and Momo do interior décor for fun, right? Like squad 5 has a new aesthetic every week, and at some point everyone just stopped thinking and went along with it.

a) of all, Anon, great ask, this might my favorite ask I have gotten in ages.

So, I did once describe the interior of the Squad 5 offices. This was from Byakuya POV, who else would use the word beatnik (derogatory):

Byakuya hadn’t actually set foot in the Squad 5 offices since Aizen’s departure. He didn’t have a lot of nice things to say about Aizen, generally, but at least the man had a classical taste in decor. Now, his former workspace more closely resembled the interior of an eclectic Living World coffee establishment for beatniks. One wall (but not the others) was painted orange, and covered in strange, stylized art that appeared to have been done by the captain and lieutenant themselves. The rug hurt his eyes. There was a beaded curtain.

That being said, I love the idea that they are constantly changing it up, and half the time it’s a very distinct aesthetic, but sometimes that aesthetic is “things we found at a yard sale”. In any case, I thought it would be fun to do a Squad 5 Offices moodboard of sorts. It was, in fact, very fun, and I encourage people to reblog with their own additions. It changes every week, there are no wrong answers.

Every squad needs a couch. This one is covered in dusty rose velvet and would probably fit at least 4 napping lieutenants, 5 if they’re snugglers.

Obligatory weird bookcase that would give me anxiety.

This is such a Shinji lamp. It looks utterly inefficient at lighting anything. It has Alexa, which inexplicably works in Soul Society. Momo knows exactly (1) Living World meme, you know which one it is. She used it on Kira once and he had to go sit alone in his room for two days to recover.

This carpet rules.

This is where Shinji keeps Sakanade. She likes it in there.

Momo loves kawaii stationery, but she was always worried that Aizen would think less of her, so she stuck to high quality, but boring-looking office supplies. When Shinji found this out, he gave her an unlimited sticky note budget and ordered her to trick out her desk. Go ham or go home. Nowadays, she is in a perpetual stationery arms race with Rukia, but the fact that Momo has actual good taste usually gives her the edge.

Sometimes you just want to put your feet up on something absolutely ridiculous.
