Steven: I had to watch someone lose their sanity, watch someone fall into the nothingness of space, and watch as one of my mom's old friends die right in front of me. And then I learned I can't even trust my own perception of my mother! Oh, and all of that wouldn't have happened if I weren't here.

So she’s getting better and I may never see her again, but her insurance isn’t helping them out and I feel like I can’t watch as her life she once knew is being taken away from her. 

Look, I understand the concept of not wanting to share something, there’s a time and a place for everything, and things like this don’t really have a time nor a place.  

I just hope tumblr loves the “In the face of all odds, they came to us and we helped them back on their feet and now they’re contributing back to the community.” kind of story, because you all have the chance to make that story a reality. 

Hopefully this time around, we can make a difference. 

The reason I’ve been off and on for the last year or so has been because of school, friends, family, school trips, and medical problems with my friends and family. Whether it be mental or physical, I’ve been able to take care of them all to the point where I knew it would be fine. But this is something I can’t take care of on my own, and I fear that they can’t either. 

I’m going to sound like a total selfish, pretentious, stereotypical sob story, but I don’t care. All I care about is that my friend gets the help she needs. Okay? Okay.

Now, here’s the story: Mold grew in her house to a toxic level. Her mother got sick to the point where it could have been deadly. But thankfully, she survived. Now, the state noticed the mold on the house and made the house owner do something about it, but nothing much was done, so they moved out. This was within the range of two years ago. Since then, it’s still been effecting their lives.

Now, as you may know, this isn’t cheap. This was rather expensive. I don’t pretend to be an economist (Like I once did) but I can imagine it isn’t easy to come back from that.

Jump to this year, she has been in the hospital for quite some time now. She was diagnosed with POTS ( Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome ) Which is mycotoxin poisoning (common from molds). She’s been having some really nice, touching moments from her friends, but she’s been pretty sick and has lost 15 pounds in the last few weeks. Her medical bills have cost the family over $300,000 and I quite literally found out about this yesterday. As you can imagine, I’ve been a little stressed about this. They’ve been able to handle these expenses so far from family, friends, and some members of the community, but it’s beginning to become too much.

I don’t want to seem like a selfish jerk, I really don’t. But please, if you can, I sincerely ask that you share the link below because I know that most people are at the very least, decent human beings. I hate having to do this, I really do, but if I can improve someone’s life, then at least I can know that mine was improved by doing so.

Please just think about it, that’s all I ask.
