Kastanie’s attention is on the little egg, briefly giving Goku a smile when he pat his shoulder, not realizing he could be talking about him. He presses his hands together when the small baby bird poked its head out and practically screamed, keeping his voice low, “Oh wow, it has such strong lungs –” Kastanie really loved nature…

The mother soon called back to her baby, landing on Goku’s shoulder with a beak full of fresh worms. “Hey there, mama! Breakfast is served eh?” 

She perched onto the nest and the chicks went crazy, their mouths wide open and waiting for food. Again the newly hatched chick seemed to be chirping the loudest. “He’s gonna be the strongest one..you wait and see~”

Fidgeting, the tall young man nods a little, looking relieved and a little sheepish, “That’s right… that was a long time ago, huh? That was like… maybe twenty years ago, I think?” He was just barely older than Marron, and a few younger than Goten. Rubbing his fingers one at a time, he floats up so they didn’t have to be too loud – looking towards the nest with a little smile once he realized what it was. His dad did always say Goku was kind hearted, “Dad finally convinced me to leave the island… wants me to travel and learn, you know?”

“Well good! You should never be stuck in one place for very long. Going out and seeing the world is much more exciting!” 

Goku quickly turned back to the nest when the baby birds began chirping. The unhatched egg was finally moving! “Hey come look at this! A certain mama bird is going to be very happy!”

Kastanie, then the adopted twins, Ruby and Zoisite.

“Ruby and Zoisite leave the island all the time...” Kastanie trails off, an unspoken ‘do I have to’ left hanging in the air. “Everything out here is so big --” he pauses though, as the baby birds start chirping and floats up a little higher, carefully, so as to not disturb the birds -- wanting to watch.

“He just needed a little more time, huh?”

The young man pauses, feeling like he wasn’t alone... and looks up from the hole he’d help a subterranean marsupial dig. He wasn’t sure what kind it was, but it was clearly tired. Still crouching, Kastanie tilts his head at the... odd seeming man. Of course, for all he knew, he could be normal, considering Kastanie wasn’t exactly used to people.

He glances down at the hole, watching the marsupial dig some more and placing the nearby giant leaf semi over the hole, then rises up to stand on his feet and step over the little tunnel, trying not to disturb the critter, “Uh... hello, sir, can I help you?”

“U-Uncle Goku?” Kastanie fidgets. He doesn’t know why he’s so nervous, it’s not like it was the first time meeting the Saiyan. It had just… been awhile. His father, Lapis, wasn’t especially fond of leaving the forests. He didn’t like most humans much. But that didn’t stop him from encouraging Kastanie to explore and travel, even if it did take a big for him to work up the will and courage to leave his dad’s side. He’d already caused a weebit of chaos with his cousin, Marron, though.

Oh boy, now’s not the time to freak out, Kastanie.
