Reasons Why I Love Delena- Season 1

Their mysterious first met on the road

“So Damon… Tell me… What is it that I want?”

The way Damon kisses her way at their second “first” met

“It was nice to met you, Damon.”

“Great meeting you too, Elena”

Their conversation after the dinner that he wasn’t invited too

“I like you… You know how to laugh”

“I’d quick cheerleading if I were you…”

The fact that Elena got most, if not all, the information about Katherine from Damon.

“Earlier did you mean, Katherine?”

“What was she like?”

“I’m sorry… about Katherine… You lost her too”

The fact that Damon is the one that originally tells Elena what happened back in 1864 with a cover story about it being their “ancestors’

"Doesn’t it always come down to the love of a women?”

BING BING BING… FEELS MOMENT: CAP LOCK ON… OKAY LIKE CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FACT THAT HE TELLS HER THIS. LIKE HE TELLS HER THAT HER BIRTH MOTHER SUCKS FOR LEAVING HER. BECAUSE HE THINKS THAT SHE IS TOO AMAZING, TOO WONDERFUL, TOO BEAUTIFUL OF A PERSON FOR ANYONE TO LEAVE HER. LIKE HE IS THINKING 'HOW CAN ANYONE LEAVE YOU?’ I WOULDN’T… WHICH IS WAY HE STAYS.. WHICH IS WHY HE PROMISES HER THAT HE WILL NEVER LEAVE HER AGAIN.

HE UNDERSTANDS THAT THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO HER BECAUSE OF HER CONFIDED IN HIM THE FACT THE SHE FOUND OUT WHO HER BIRTH MOTHER WAS WAY BACK WHEN HE TOLD HER THAT SHE SUCKS FOR LEAVING HER TO BEGIN WITH. SO HE IS LIKE YOU DONT HAVE TO SEE HER IF YOU DONT WANT TO AND I CRY SOMETIMES.

The way that Damon finds Isobel and threatens her. 

“…Going after Elena, BAD MOVE”

The fact that he offers to try and save Jeremy without giving the device to Isobel… THE FACT THE HE HAS ALWAYS CARED ABOUT HIM EVEN THOUGHT HE LITERALLY KILLED HIM TWO EPISODES LATER. HE CARES ABOUT JERBER DONT EVEN TRY TO ARGUE WITH ME. (Sorry I had a Damon moment.)

The fact that Isobel tells Elena that Damon is in love with her and Damon doesn’t deny it but doesn’t admit it either.

The fact that Damon considered Elena his only friend. 

The way that Damon wasn’t thanks Elena.

“…Which means that somewhere along the way, you decided that I was worth saving…and I wanted to thank you for that”

The way he thinks he is talking to Elena. 

The way he kisses her cheek.

LIKE SOMETIMES I REALLY REALLY WISH THAT IT WAS ELENA BECAUSE IF IT WAS HE WAS HAVE PROBABLY ENDED WITH A YOU’RE WELCOME… AND GOOD NIGHT DAMON… AND THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH FOR ME… THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A PERFECT SCENE… BUT IT BEING KATHERINE IS GOOD TOO BECAUSE IT SHOW THAT HE REALLY IS IN LOVE WITH HER BECAUSE HE GOES IN TO KISS HER ON THE LIPS AND WHEN HE SEES SHE ISN’T RESISTING HE KISSES HER…BUT ITS KINDA REALLY DEPRESSING BECAUSE IT ISN’T ELENA BUT I’M SORT OF GLAD IT WASN’T BECAUSE SHE WAS WITH STEFAN AT THE TIME AND ELENA ISN’T A HOEBAG. K MOMENT OVER.

So this post totally blew out of proportion so I’m going to break it down by seasons…

Season 2

This is it people. This is what it all comes down to. Everything I’ve ever said about Elena’s feelings for Damon. Her love for him. Every meta, every theory, every conversation, every argument I have ever had comes down to this episode. This moment in Elena’s life. Her grieving over him. This one line, really.

“I want to thank you for giving me everything I ever wanted, a love that consumes me, adventure, passion. There’s nothing more that I could’ve asked for…except for it to last forever." 

This is all the proof you need that Elena truly loved Damon. Not only that,.. but that she loved the way that Damon loved her. She is grateful for it. It is proof that Damon is what she wanted all along. Weather or not she was able to admit it to herself or everyone around her. Elena always did love as deeply as Damon…and that is the reason they fell so deeply in love with each other.
