So let’s talk about Hollow, because it’s been bugging the hell out of me since I finished the game. Upon first glance, I had assumed it was talking about Aerith, because regret and sorrow seems to be the theme of the song. Especially towards the end: 

But I, I know That you’re, long gone

Clearly, someone that is no longer here/alive. Aerith, right? I’m not so sure. Now some people have also thought it could be in reference to Zack, I suppose that can be the case as well. But somehow I’m less convinced of that theory. 

Regardless, when I read back with Tifa in mind, it’s uncanny the amount of lines that somehow just fit her better, as indicated by the pics. Everything up until those last lines, that is. Because she’s clearly still around…right? RIGHT?? Of course Tifa isn’t going anywhere?? PLEASE SQUARE. I’m just going to not even let my mind go to that unfathomable thought. 

Anyways, these lyrics are still cute cloti food so:

Lifestream scene, anyone? Cloud has been drifting, his mind is distorted, he is no longer himself. Tifa has always been there for him, guiding him with a smile, even in the Lifestream.

Can we even count how many time Cloud and Tifa have reached out to one another in the game?? They always have each others’ backs.

Cloud and Tifa had THE hug scene to end all hug scenes. ‘Nuff Said.

Tifa is always smiling, in spite of all the hurt and anger underneath that smile. She holds her emotions close to her heart, afraid to let anybody see her vulnerability.
