Strange Horticulture, when I go to Roudsea Wood: There are more important things I could be doing back at the shop.
Maybe I just want to travel, game. Maybe I want to learn all I can about this world you've crafted for me.

Extract from my WIP
My heart is gladden that you and Simone have met. Tell me, what is your assessment? Is she not everything I’ve said and more?
Truly she is a mulberry among trees, a lavender among flowers, an shiitake of mushrooms. I will never have a chance to tell her though but I hope my feelings will cause you to look favourably upon her. I shall be in Bootle tomorrow.

Cambridge, UK, August 2024
Devil's tooth / bleeding tooth (Hydnellum peckii)
These absolutely beautiful fungi are incredibly variable in shape and size, although nearly all young specimens have a light pink tone, and are decorated with red guttation - the small droplets of excess water being exuded from the pore surface.
It's fairly rare in the UK, so this was an exciting find!

I discovered Strange Horticulture recently, and fell in love with the ambience made by the shop music and the rain.
I find it wonderful for when I'm reading, drawing, or writing.
It's melancholy, in a way, but. . .
There's something calming about it too, y' know?
