Howdy folks.Â
So Iâve been here doing wtnv rp since about 2012, which is a long time! And itâs always been nothing but fun! But over the last year or two, activityâs been drying up. Almost no one remains of the once-large community I spent so many years writing with, and while I see there are many new people joining us, Iâve been repeatedly running into the problem of plotting with new people and starting threads only to be left hanging for months at a time.Â
There are a handful of folk still around who I also write with elsewhere, but itâs because I write with them elsewhere that Iâm considering archiving and deactivating all my rp blogs. Iâm putting in more effort than Iâm getting back, and itâs losing its fun. More and more Iâm considering taking my OCs who I write here and giving them their own longform projects. I might set up a writeblr to keep yâall updated on what Iâm working on, and if thatâs the case, Iâll give you a chance to follow it before I disappear into the ether. That said: Iâm still willing to finish threads in progress, but I need to know youâre going to commit to doing that! Shoot me a message here, discord, anywhere we talk, and weâll figure out what we want to wrap up and try to make that happen!Â

So RP Thread Tracker is shutting down. This is extremely sad. First of all, if any of you use a different thread tracker, please please link me to it, Iâm desperate.Â
Secondly, I have over 40 active threads across all my blogs. There is no possible way for me to keep track of them all on my own, so this is whatâs happening: any thread that hasnât moved in a year or more will be archived and dropped at the end of this week.Â
I know weâve all been having a rough time of things and Iâve typically been happy to resurrect old threads, but thereâs just too much yâall. If you want to keep such an old thread alive, either respond to it this week or send me a message about it!Â

No moon in IKEA.
Yeah, itâd be even fucking weirder if it was in there. How many shots of espresso do you want?Â

Venka took a moment to glance into the bags, gratitude already blossoming in their chest. Just a few hours ago they had been panicked and half-convinced theyâd end up in a dangerous situation, and now here they were, safe and fed in a fellow wolfâs den.Â
It would take a long time to repay Maggie for all her kindness. Venka got a start on it when they noticed Maggie looking aroundâpresumably for Lee. âHey, kiroptedro, your roommateâs looking for you,â they called out, hoping it would prompt Lee to reappear.Â
After a moment the window to the fire escape slid open. Lee had taken herself outside in another futile attempt to get away from Venkaâs snoring without leaving them completely on their own, and to play violin without waking them.Â
âWhat?â she asked out loud, and set her violin across her lap so she could sign it as well.
âYour roommate wants you,â Venka repeated, waving to get Maggieâs attention in case she didnât see Lee.Â
âThere is no calm! Donât tell me to be calm!â [underaforeignmoon]

âOkay,â Lee replied, putting her hands up. âBut like, seriously, calm down. Whatâs the big deal?â@underaforeignmoon

Maggieâs kindness melted all of Venkaâs earlier grumpiness. They struggled to sit up, in order to offer a grateful smileâa wolf smile at that, all in the eyes and the shoulders and the softness around their edges.Â
Maggie understood perfectly. She triumphantly dropped Venkaâs food off beside the couch before looking around the apartment for their translator, who was no where in sight. Maggieâs eyebrows drew together in concern and a small whine escaped her as she set aside her own groceries to poke around the apartment.

Venka dozed more than slept, but it was sorely needed nonetheless. They did, however, snore. Loudly. Like gravel in a rock tumbler.Â
They didnât properly wake up until Maggie returned, and even then it was mostly to offer a tired wave to their new friend and reassure themself that they were still welcome.Â
As tempted as she was to blast music to try to drown out their snores, Lee dug a pair of headphones out of her closet instead. It wasnât much help, thanks to her enhanced hearing, but she could pretend it was well enough that she didnât murder Venka before Maggie got back.
Maggie returned from the Ralphâs as quickly as she could with her own last minute âcampingâ supplies and three bags full of any soft food she could think of for Venka. She offered them a bright smile as she came in the door, proudly displaying the armful of groceries sheâd found for them.

âSomething youâve apparently never heard of,â was Venkaâs terse answer. âFun.â
âHa, ha,â Lee replied sarcastically, but left it at that so Venka could finally sleep.

Part of Venka wanted to ignore Lee in favor of sleep. The rest of Venka was made up of pride, and it would not stand for this. âTo throw knives at a person in a spinning wheel and narrowly miss.â
âOoh, so much better,â she replied sarcastically. âItâs like being bad at missing too.â

Under normal circumstances, this information would never have left Venkaâs lips, especially not to Lee of all people. But their head was in a miserable fog, and they were tired, and they distantly heard themself saying, âLast job was in a traveling circus.â
Lee couldnât help the laugh that escaped her. âOh my Gââ She choked on the last word, still laughing, and had to grab hold of the counter to keep herself upright. âNo fucking way.â
Not quite processing Leeâs reaction, Venka muttered, âSo donât fucking question my aim again.â

âMissingâs the whole point, kiroptedro,â Venka grumbled, settling back down. âCanât keep an assistant if you hit them.â
Lee took a moment to concentrate on not spilling any blood while she poured it into a glass. âAssistant?â she repeated with a surprised laugh.

Venka was quiet for a long moment, trying to wrap their clouded mind around Leeâs question. âSince always?â
Lee let out a surprised laugh and opened the fridge to make herself a drink. âThought you just had bad aim,â she muttered.

âLike to see you try.â Venka sighed, shifted once more to try to achieve any semblance of comfort, gave up and said, âDonât sneak up on me; going to try to nap.â
Lee scoffed and shook her head. âWhat, do you want me to wear a bell or something?â she asked them.Â

Venka didnât answer right away: one of the four balls in play had finally been dropped by the pelican that kept interfering in the game, and all of Venkaâs attention was focused on it as it plummeted towards them. They crouched low to the ground, all coiled tension, and then leapt into the air, much higher than one would expect from someone of Venkaâs stature and overall shape. They snatched up the little yellow ball, landed in a tumble, and then scrambled back to their feet with the ball held high in triumph. âYou canât get one past me, you damn bird!â As the moment passed and the pelican made another graceful spiral back towards the park, Venka finally turned their rather sharp grin on Sam. âThereâs nothing to the rules, really. This one doesnât touch the ground.â They held up the yellow ball again. Then they gestured to the one near Samâs feet that kept growling softly. âThat one will bite you if you pick it up. Donât let the birds win.â
