The man went from being just familiar to worryingly familiar. Then all the pieces came together.
"Ah, Clockwork. Of course, of course. Please, do come in." He opened the door completely to allow him in. He hadn't exactly anticipated the Master of Time to have the time to check in personally. But he was time incarnate after all, why couldn't he.
"Dan is around. Most likely in the lab, he's been self directing his studies until we can assemble the paperwork to have him enrolled in school." Getting him to accept going back into school was hard, after all, half of him had already gone through the trouble of getting a college degree. But they had agreed that it was the experiences were of some importance at this point and if he couldn't find any value in it after a year, he was free to test out.
He smiled slightly as he pulled a pocketwatch from his waistline, and he opened it, checking the time. It had that familiar CW etched into the lid... It was tucked away before his arms went behind his back.
"Vlad, it's been a while, hasn't it?"
Tooth gap and all—
"I was just stopping by to check in, see how things have been going— After all, I trusted you with a pretty big deal."
He could have easily kept watch from his tower, yet he showed up at Vlad's door...

Vlad had so much to do. He had a ward he needed to legally bring into existence.
No one ever talked about the difficult parts of cloning someone and then allowing an evil alternate to inhabit that clone.
Namely forging paperwork.
There was a knock at the door and he gladly set down the paperwork. Good. A distraction, any distraction, was a good one.
He opened the door expecting one of the Fentons. But no.
He looked familiar, but he was sure he did not know this man. "Hello, may I help you?"

He had a lot to fix, and a lot to do... But he also couldn't shake the feeling... He had to check in. He wasn't at his strongest still, so he could use a break to recharge himself, yes?
He checked one of his screens before he tapped his staff, a portal opening before he moved to exit the Ghost Zone. This was a break, hopefully Vlad won't mind... He adjusted his sleeves as his appearances shifted and changed, boot-clad feet touching down just outside the elder Hybrid's door, and one dark tan hand knocked quickly.
Long white hair was in a braid over his shoulder, and one eye was scarred closed, but the other was a deep red shade still... But human.
"I know he's home..."

He grimaced when Dan said that he had changed. He didn't really think he did much to deserve that assessment yet, but he was trying.
"Dan, right. I can do that. So, Dan, how do you want your burger?" This was a normal enough conversation for the two of them to be having. He could do this.

“A burger, I can make burgers.” Vlad nodded. At least it was something, high in protein. That was important for growing... people.
“Ah... well...” He did want to talk, about a lot of things, but he also didn’t want to overwhelm him.
He needed something simple, a starting point. “I’ve... er neglected up to this point asking you what you would like to be called, and I thought, perhaps if you had a preference, we could work that out?” It was small, but at the very least it showed that he was trying to make him comfortable. Hopefully.

At least he was open to that much. Vlad opened the door and spotted Dan on the bed. He sighed and leaned against the door frame. “I picked up a great variety of food. If there’s something you’re craving, maybe we can give that a try. Is there anything that sounds good to you? I’ll do my best to make it happen.” He was trying. Really he was.

Vlad bristled at the ‘old man’ comment. But he reminded himself he couldn’t take every insult personally. This wasn’t going to work out right away, there were going to be bumps.
“You say that, but I’m still not sure. The other...” Vlad paused, Maybe it wasn’t a good idea to mention the other clones. “We have no reason to believe that you are any different from any other half ghost now.”
This talking through the door thing was a little annoying. “May I come in?”

After a great deal of debating over nearly every item in the store, Vlad returned to the mansion with more food than two people could ever reasonably eat, even if both of those people were half ghosts. Oh well, they were spoiled for choice. He put everything away in the kitchen before going to find his new... housemate? charge? son?
He hesitated before knocking. “Daniel, are you hungry?” Cheese curds, this was awkward. “I er... bought some food, and I was hoping you could tell me what sounds appealing?”

Vlad still wasn’t in the best of shape. It had only been a few days since.... everything.
But his home was out of food, all having since spoiled. It had been a busy few weeks.
That necessitated him going to the store, what with a new mouth to feed. He could just do without some staring at him in his roughed-up state. Honestly, what happened to manners? He tried to focus. Why didn’t he make a list? A list would have made this a simple ordeal. “Cereal for breakfast... of course that means milk... I hope he isn’t lactose intolerant.” He muttered to himself as he picked out four very different types of cereal and put them in the basket. There had to be one in there he liked, right?
