Raihan? Why, he's everything you could want from a mate. He's the only person I really consider a true rival.

We've known each other for a while. He's been there for me since I became champion. Hard to think it's been nearly sixteen years, aye? But anyhow, Raihan really is a man I look up to. And not just literally, haha!

Sorry for the late reply- I got caught up with training and an exhibition match. The Chairman has me all running about after my little holiday.

I did—eventually—find my way to Sonia. She and I had a lovely night out, if I do say so myself. Nothing beats having a drink with old friends.

Absolutely. At one point, when he was a toddler, I'm pretty sure my mum had me convinced that he was a changeling for about a week. I fully believed her, haha-

His face is incredibly intense (He's taking his job very seriously, after all!). There's also one of Leon throwing Hop into a pond, and one of Hop asleep with a Wooloo. I didn't! Those two just have a thing. I don't even pretend to understand them. When Hop was younger, anytime Raihan came over, he'd spend the entire time either trying to convince me to make him leave, or standing behind me glaring daggers at poor Rai.

Well, that's certainly more information than I did have. I do appreciate this. Randomly gigantamaxing pokemon, huh? That would cause more than a few problems, I'd imagine..

Right hi champ. Ignore my previous mental breakdown on main.

anyhow, the darkest day was caused by Chairman Rose gettin’ silly in his search for infinite renewable energy and summoning a eldritch horror danger noodle. (Eternatus) Hop and his rival got summoned by the goodest boys (the twin hero’s of galar) to pick up some dinky old artifacts and stop the cosmic horror nope rope from getting our asses. Or that’s what I know, it’s kinda the bare minimum of the whole thing.

Hop doesn’t like to bring it up, I don’t push.

But, anyways! The darkest day (at least for my universe) caused hundreds of Pokémon to randomly gigantamax. Which caused the expected amount of chaos, I personally was a little busy being crushed to death by the rubble of a building to actually really experience it but-a lotta people died. I almost died, I still get nightmares from the whole thing.

Hundreds of people lost their homes and lives. I got lucky, I doubt you want to take the chances on who won’t in your universe.

Well, it was nice spending a day or so with my family, but I'll probably be heading back to Wyndon come morning. Chairman Rose has an exhibition match planned for the weekend, so isn't that exciting? Keep an eye on the telly for that!

Former Champion to Champion, don't beat yourself up for something that hasn't happened yet in your timeline and might not even happen for you. The multiverse stuff has so many variables that it's entirely possible that you might just avoid whatever triggers a second darkest day. Definitely keep that in mind, prepare just in case and have a contingency, shore up the protections in the gyms and all that like I'm sure you're doing now for sure. Even if something like that doesn't happen you'll be ready for another disaster or danger. But what happens in one universe isn't guaranteed in another. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to anticipate every potential disaster in every potential timeline. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best, and expect something in the middle. Anyway, ramble over.

I don't... It's difficult imagining something like that happening. We hardly know anything about the first Darkest Day, other than that it happened. I'm not the expert there, though. That'd be Sonia. And Rose being involved is just.. It feels preposterous, if I'm to be honest. I've had my spats with him before, but to put people in danger? I don't know.

I appreciate the advice, though. I'm sure that whatever this is, we'll figure out a way to avoid it. And we'll keep having a Champion Time while we're at it!
