Refugee Organization

Working with the refugee organization was a completely new and different experience. At first it was challenging, to manage and differentiate between different type of things and was very tiring because i have never work consecutively three hours, packing boxs, lifting them from one place to another. But still was great fun. This organization have different groups or sections, where different things are packed in different boxes. I work at the department that handles clothes such as scarfs, shirts, jeans and etc. I was also accompanied by one of my friend, Rabia. It made my work more enjoyable and exciting. Both of us worked together and helped each other, this made easy for us to adjust in a new environment and experience. There were many other people mostly older than us but they were very friendly and polite and also helped us in our first days at work. I am really happy that i got a chance to do something that engages me with the problem around the globe, as these cloths and other goods are sent to the poor and needy countries and communities around the world. Helping poor and needy people, children and families is always morally and ethically acceptable. I might continue this work further in my life and take my friends and family to take part in such activities because this develops our skill to manage things more effectively and promote globalization.

Birthday cake 🎂

This was my sisters birthday cake which I fully tried to bake and decorate perfectly and think somehow I was able to do it. Each cake took 3 hours but overall it was really great and time spent is quite valuable.

Exercise and running

This was a totally new experience for me. I personally like to workout but was never able to get sometime because of my studies but after joining Ib i got this chance and took advantage of it. I spent about one month. For me it was a great achievement but i just lost 2 to 3kg which was quite depressing so I decided not to do more exercise. But Iam happy that i was able to do something new and challenging in my life that i have never done before.

Baking

After baking do many cakes i can say that now i can bake pretty well, which is a skill that i have developed through doing CAS. Now sometimes my neighbors ask me to bake cake for them but sometimes thing doesn't go quiet well. Thats what happened this time with me. It takes a lot of time to bake cake and then decorate it. This time i baked 2 cakes which took me about 5:15 min. The cake with green and yellow circles took about 3 hours and the other cake took at least 2 hours. I was not satisfied but was not that bad 😜.

Butter cookies

While studing in IB i got this great opportunity to learn many things and develop new skills through CAS. I tried to challenge myself and bake a new thing called "butter cookies". Trust me it was really very messy but it's taste was really good😋. I spent about 1:30 min to prepare them. It was my first experience but was quite interesting and enjoyable.

Chocolate cake balls

These cake balls were totally an experiment. I didn't show the recipe from youtube or any other website. I made it just for doing some CAS activity. It took be about 2 hours to make them. First i baked the cake within 1 hour. Then i crushed the cake. For making the balls we need to make something that will stick the pieces of cake together, so i make ceremal butter frostening and added the cake crums into the frostening. Then small balls were made, for about 20 mins they are refrigerated. Than chocolate was melted and balls were coated with chocolate. Than again they are refrigerated. For 30 mins. It is really a good activity for CAS, as its so much fun!!

Red velvet cake

Baking red velvet cake was one of the best challenge that i have ever taken. I really like baking different types of cakes , it was so much fun making it. Although it was time consuming but still i enjoyed it a lot. It took me about 4 hours to make the cake with frosting. Making the mixture of the cake was not difficult but the most difficult part was to add the right amount of red food color 😬. I got so confused that first i added the liquified food color but then i was not satisfied so i added the dry food color 😜. I know it sounds a bit stupid. But when it was baked and i took it out of the oven i felt so good, because the color was perfect😃. Making frosting was easy and everything when fine. At the end the final, fully prepared cake was very beautiful and also very delicious. This experience was very good and will definitely try it again.

Birthday cake

On 15 May our neighbors had a birthday party at their home and requested if i can bake a cake for them. It felt so great full and tried to make the best i can. But i guess that was a bad day for me. I made a berries cream cake.. The mai ingredient is strawberry and when i was going to decorate the cake i was left with only few of them😑 ... The worst part. But then i got a good idea and decorated the cake with chocolate as well. It took me 3:45 minutes because the plane cake i used was homemade because the wanted it to be homemade. I usually brought it from the super market. It takes less time and tastes very good.

Cricket

i really like to watch cricket and also love to play it. i never had taken proper training for cricket when i was in Pakistan i just use to play it in my school when ever i was free. But now as i have this opportunity to learn this sport in a proper way. So i decided to start playing it my first day at cricket was on 10 Feb 2016. i can do bating but at balling i am really bad. 

i also played a match with other team on 27 Feb 2016. Although our team lost but it was a great experience and had a lot of fun. Its been 2 months that im playing this and i have learned a lot and have become a better player in cricket.

In total I have taken training for about 4 months, only on Wednesday.The hours that i have spent on having this new skill is 13:30 min. In these months i have learned something new and accepting this challenge was a bit difficult. Sometimes i didn’t wanted to go because is was tried or had to do homework but i still went and tried to be responsible towards my work. 

In last 2 months i didn’t go regularly because of my studies, i had to prepare for my class tests but to be honest my journey of this 4 months was great. Our couch was so friendly as i was the only girl playing cricket most of the days so he was very kind. Overall i had a great time with everyone who have played cricket with me.

Cooking is fun

Today i cooked some rice with chicken gravy. it took me almost 2:45 min to prepare it. I also tried a new sweet dish with biscuits, fruits, ice-cream and cream. I took me 1:15 minutes. It was difficult to make chicken gravy because it was a totally new thing for me.It was really difficult to remember all the spices to be used. i have tried many other new dishes but i don’t know why it was the most difficult thing that i have ever cooked.  But making sweet dish was so much fun. I enjoyed making it but it was a bit messy and the most annoying part was went i was putting the layers of biscuits and all of a sudden it breaks down. The thing i enjoyed the most was the decoration. The sugar crunch i made was a bit over cooked. But still everyone liked it.
