I’ve seen a few people complain that 4 Minutes hasn’t been showing live/condoms/prep since episode 1 and I’m like… oh did we all not understand that it’s shorthand? They very conspicuously showed lube and condom usage in the first sex scene, so we know and they know we know that they know the mechanics of gay sex. It’s been established, on screen, that these characters know about and use condoms and lube to have anal sex. Because they took the time to show me this in the first episode, I can reasonably assume lube, condoms, and prep are standard with all anal sex scenes going forward (with the exception of Ton Kla and his obsession with getting rawed, and his rough wallfuck session with Win, but that’s the exception, not the rule). It doesn’t bug me that they don’t show it every time, just like it doesn’t bother me that they don’t show characters walking through the front door of every building they need to be in. Sex scenes are complicated enough to film. I don’t mind a cut corner here or there when they’ve already put in the work to show they know what they’re doing at the very start
