the thing that gets me weepy about darlene and elliot is how easy it would have been for them to drift apart and be strangers in each-other’s lives, there was a period when they weren’t close and didn’t talk, but they found their way back to each-other! and they could’ve repeated their parents’ abusive cycles and been nothing but toxic to one another, but they didn’t! they pushed through those mutually-destructive urges and decided to believe in each-other! and that faith is what ends up saving them both!!!
