Hi peeps!

My future among RP is looking quite weak atm. Everyone but one I used to RP with have either left the datacenter or quit. I’ve lost 2/3 of my followers during my break. Just the thought of building it all over again makes me tired. I’ll keep this blog here for now just for screenshots and art. I’ll decide later what to do with it.

If you want to keep in touch outside of tumblr/FFXIV, here’s my Linktree. If we’re long-term mutuals, feel free to ask for my discord. In general I suck at keeping in touch if we’re not hanging out often, and I also suck at small talk, but I can still throw you some occasional memes. :)

You don’t need to say you’re disabled, physically ill, mentally ill, neurodivergent, working overtime, etc as a reason to not reply to your roleplay partners instantaneously. You don’t need to have any reason for not dropping everything to respond to roleplay partners. This culture of "instant replies" is very new, and it's also unrealistic. Nobody should be expected to be online and responding 24-7. Even if someone is online on discord, Skype, Wire, etc, don't expect them to respond to you immediately. And if you're on the other side, don't beat yourself up for not responding to people immediately, for literally any reason!

Give yourself some grace, take a deep breath. It's ok. People will understand, and if they don't, then they're not worth your worry.

reminders for writers.

nobody gives a crap if something is overdone in fiction. what they really care about is the execution

having a bad day of writing does not make you a bad writer

tropes ≠ clichés. if someone tells you it's wrong to use tropes, disregard the advice

writing in your second or third language isn’t always easy. you’re doing great

writing advice = tools. not rules. you’re not meant to follow every advice you read about on the internet. learn the rules so you know which ones to break

every writer is capable of writing a captivating story, but your story might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s ok. there will still be people out there who’ll adore it

it’s ok to not excel at every genre! you can write things because you think it’s fun, doesn’t always have to be a matter of writing something because you’re good at it. it’s ok to explore (and it helps you improve as a writer!)

if you’re ever about to comment on a writer’s work and think, oh, they probably know how good they are, you’re definitely wrong. every time a writer posts or publishes anything, no matter how many years they’ve been doing it and no matter how many readers they have, they are struck with the idea that perhaps they aren’t very good at all.

if you think you’re annoying for commenting, or that we won’t see your comments anyway, you’re wrong. we see your comments. we actively look for them. we are starved for them no matter how many we get. we remember them and they fuel us. leave comments, even if it’s just saying “oh i like this”. i see an “oh i like this” and my heart grows three times its size and i am seized with an urge to provide you more writing just to hear you say “oh i like this” again.
