Together
Warnings:panic attack a little crying sad
The practice room was alive with the sound of music and synchronized steps, but for Seungmin, it all felt distant—like he was watching from underwater. Each move grew harder to execute, every beat heavier on his chest. Weeks of nonstop rehearsals, mounting expectations, and the fear of disappointing everyone had pushed him to his limit. He stumbled during a spin, his breathing uneven, and froze. His hands shook as he pressed them to his knees, trying to steady himself, but the tension inside was unbearable. Quietly, almost pleading, he murmured, “Chan… I need Y/N.”
Chan’s eyes widened immediately. He didn’t hesitate. Pulling out his phone, he dialed Y/N’s number, his voice low but urgent. “Y/N, it’s Chan. Seungmin just broke down. He’s asking for you—he really needs you right now. Please come.”
Y/N’s heart clenched at Chan’s words. “I’m on my way,” she replied instantly, grabbing her jacket and rushing out.
When Y/N arrived, the atmosphere was heavy. Seungmin was sitting on the floor against the wall, head bowed, shoulders trembling. His usual calm demeanor was replaced by exhaustion and vulnerability. Without hesitation, Y/N dropped to her knees beside him and took his hand in hers. “Seungmin,” she said softly, brushing a stray hair from his forehead, “what’s going on? Talk to me.”
He swallowed hard, eyes glistening with unshed tears. “I… I can’t keep up. Everyone expects so much, and I feel like I’m breaking. I’m scared I’m going to mess everything up.”
Y/N’s voice was firm, yet filled with warmth. “Hey, look at me. You’re not alone in this. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. You don’t have to carry all of this by yourself.”
Seungmin’s breath hitched as he leaned into her, voice barely a whisper, “I just wanted to be strong… but I feel so weak.”
She pulled him into a tight hug, her tone unwavering. “Being strong doesn’t mean never breaking down. It means knowing when to ask for help—and I’m here. Always.”
He closed his eyes, the tension slowly unraveling as he let himself lean on her. “Thank you… for coming.”
Y/N smiled softly. “Always. We’ll get through this together.”
The next morning, sunlight streamed gently through the studio windows, casting a warm glow over the practice room. Seungmin arrived earlier than usual, a calm determination in his eyes that hadn’t been there the day before.
Y/N was already there, stretching quietly in the corner. When she noticed Seungmin, she smiled—a soft, reassuring smile that spoke volumes.
Seungmin caught her gaze and gave a small, grateful nod. “Thanks for yesterday,” he said quietly, his voice steadier.
Y/N walked over and nudged him playfully. “No need to thank me. Just glad you’re feeling better.”
He chuckled, the sound light and genuine for the first time in days. “I’m still nervous, but… it helps knowing you’ve got my back.”
She squeezed his hand. “Always. We’ll take it one step at a time.”
As practice began, Seungmin moved with more confidence. The mistakes were fewer, and though the pressure still lingered, it no longer felt suffocating. With Y/N nearby, he knew he could face whatever came next.

Thunderstorms
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and hyunjin got into a petty argument and he went to go sleep in the guest room but what you didn’t know was Hyunjin is scared of thunderstorms
TW: Nothing really just crying
It had been a sweltering day, the kind that made the concrete sweat and the air thick with unspoken tension. The sun had set hours ago, leaving behind a sultry night that seemed to hold its breath in anticipation of the storm clouds that had been amassing on the horizon since late afternoon. Inside the apartment, the air conditioning fought a valiant battle against the heat, a low hum echoing through the hallways as the couple, you and Hyunjin, retreated to your separate spaces after a disagreement over a TV show. The argument had been trivial, a mere misunderstanding over the remote, but in the heavy silence that followed, it had bloomed into something larger, a thorny knot of unspoken words and bruised egos.
You had been dozing fitfully when the first rumble of thunder woke you from a light sleep. The sound was a low growl, a prelude to the symphony of a thunderstorm that was about to break over the city. The room was bathed in an eerie flash of light, the curtains fluttering slightly as the electricity outside danced across the sky. Your eyes took a moment to adjust to the sudden brightness, and you realized that the crying you heard wasn't a figment of your sleep-addled imagination. It was real, and it was coming from the guest room where Hyunjin had retreated.
With a sigh, you pushed back the covers and padded softly across the cool tiles of the hallway, the sound of your bare feet against the floor muffled by the thick carpet. The door to the guest room was ajar, spilling a wedge of moonlight into the darkness. You could see Hyunjin's silhouette on the bed, his shoulders shaking with sobs that seemed to tear through his whole body.
You hesitated, feeling a mix of annoyance at being woken up and concern for your partner's distress. The storm was really going full force now, the thunder crackling like a whip overhead, the rain hammering against the windows like an angry mob. The room smelled faintly of Hyunjin's cologne, the scent comforting despite the circumstances. Taking a deep breath, you stepped into the room and approached the bed. “Baby.” You say as you walk towards the bed and Hyunjin's sobs grew louder at the sound of your voice, and he buried his face in the pillow, his body wracked with tremors. You reached out tentatively, placing a gentle hand on his back. His skin was hot to the touch, and you could feel the tension coiled within him like a spring ready to snap. “It's just a storm,” you murmured, trying to keep your voice calm and soothing. “It'll pass soon.” sits down next to him.
But the storm didn't just pass; it grew more intense, the thunder now a cacophony of sound that seemed to shake the very foundations of the building. The lights flickered, throwing the room into momentary darkness before flickering back on, casting a strobe-like effect that only added to the chaos. Rain lashed at the windows, the sound like a thousand tiny fists demanding entry. The room felt suffocating, the air thick with the scent of ozone and fear. “Hey jinnie it’s ok I’m here now you doing have to worry.” You say as you comfort him in your arms now, his warm body curled into yours.
Hyunjin's grip on you tightened, his sobs subsiding into hiccups as he clung to you like a lifeline. You held him, feeling the rise and fall of his chest against yours, the steady beat of his heart a counterpoint to the erratic rhythm of the storm outside. You didn't know what to say, so you just held him, letting your presence be his shield against the tempest.
After what felt like an eternity, his breathing evened out, and his body grew slack with exhaustion. You leaned back against the headboard, stroking his hair gently. "What's going on?" you asked, your voice low and gentle. "What are you so scared of?"
Hyunjin took a shuddering breath, his eyes still squeezed shut. "It's just... I hate thunderstorms," he whispered. "They've always scared me. Ever since I was a kid."
You felt a twinge of guilt for not realizing his fear sooner, for letting a simple argument drive him to seek solace in the farthest corner of the apartment. "I didn't know," you said, your voice filled with genuine regret. Hyunjin's grip on you loosened slightly, and he rolled over to face you, his eyes red and puffy from crying. "I don't know," he said, his voice small and vulnerable. "I guess I thought it was stupid. Everyone else seems to like them, or at least not be s You felt a surge of protectiveness for him, this man who was so strong in so many ways, yet so vulnerable in this one. "It's not stupid," you assured him, brushing a tear-soaked lock of hair from his forehead. "Everyone's afraid of something."
Hyunjin's eyes searched yours, looking for any sign of mockery or dismissal, but all he found was warmth and understanding. With a small nod, he seemed to accept your words. The thunder boomed again, and he flinched, but your arms around him were a steadfast reassurance.
With a gentle tug, you guided him to lay down beside you, his head nestled in the crook of your neck. His breathing grew deeper, the tension in his body slowly seeping away as he found comfort in your embrace. You could feel his heart rate slowing, his breaths becoming more even. The storm outside raged on, but in the safety of your arms, it was as if it didn't exist. cared.
