The most concerning aspect of the JFK assassination is that JFK was not the only person that died due to the assassination. After his death, his vice president, LBJ was sworn into office and his tone was much different than Kennedy’s. Kennedy ruled with a noninterventionist tone and was surprisingly antiestablishment. He wanted no part in Vietnam and he was not interested in letting organizations like the CIA run rampant without supervision. He was no fan of the CIA or the mob and was actively wrangling both in. When he died, the attitude totally switched. LBJ immediately ramped up our involvement in Vietnam, resulting in the deaths of over 50,000 Americans and hundreds of thousands more wounded. LBJ not only started the war in Vietnam, but he kept us there long after it was justifiable to do so. This policy of world policing carried on long after LBJ left office and continued as his former associates took the presidency such as George H.W Bush. The cold war was dragged out until the 1990’s when it is likely the Cold War would have turned out much differently if JFK, who had worked on our relations with the USSR, had not been killed. It is also no secret how immoral LBJ was. He was known for his sexual deviancy and was visibly excited when he found out that JFK had been killed. In other words, while JFK was the only one to receive a bullet on 11/22/63, many more men and women received bullets after the fact, a direct result of Kennedy being killed that day.

In the video that came out in the 1970s of JFK’s death, the fatal headshot is shown clearly, with JFK’s head being blown backwards and to the left. The issue with this is that he was shot behind, with physics dictating that the force of a bullet would push his head forwards. To compound the issues behind the official narrative, in the autopsy, the back of Kennedy’s head completely gone, with no visible exit wound on the front of his head. With the way bullets work, the entrance wound is small but as the bullet expands when moving through the body, it cause a massive wound when it exits the body. With the way JFK was shot, the massive wound in the back of his head rather than the front, points to the strong possibility that the fatal shot came from somewhere other than the book depository, which was directly behind him. While I’m just breaching the tip of the iceberg here, these are very important details when it comes to analyzing the truth of what really happened that day. After the Warren Commission was made aware of these problems, they doubled down, choosing to ignore the narrative and harassed those who made the objections, such as Jim Garrison, who was a District Attorney in New Orleans. Garrison had discovered some flaws with the official narrative and had been speaking out, only to receive massive backlash from the CIA. Jim Garrison was later made famous by a movie that detailed his experience with the JFK assassination.

While this was generally accepted that Kennedy was hit twice, it wasn’t until later that a bystander came out and said he had been hit by a bullet fragment. The issue that this verified claim provided to the official narrative was this man had been standing nowhere near Kennedy, in fact almost entirely out of Oswald’s range. Since the first shot that had been fired hit JFK in the neck, this new third shot had hit somewhere between the first and last shot, making the rate of fire impossible. Oswald was using an old Carcano rifle, which was bolt action. This means that after every shot, the shooter must eject the spent bullet casing and push a fresh bullet into the chamber of the gun. To do this it takes even an expert shooter at least a second or two. After cocking the gun, the shooter must then refocus the scope on the target, which takes even more time. The issue with all of this is that this means that Oswald would have had to fire all three shots within five seconds, a feat which an FBI expert using the same gun was not able to replicate, even after dozens of tries. To assert that it’s likely Oswald would have been able to do this on his first try and hit the president accurately 2/3 shots it takes in my opinion, some serious mental gymnastics. Even if we assume Oswald was able to do this, there are more serious issues with the official narrative.

Within days of his arrest, Oswald would be dead after getting shot on live television as the police were moving him. While it is undisputed that Oswald was shot and that he was shot by Jack Ruby, the consensus ends there. Everybody agrees Kennedy was killed and that he was killed by a gunshot, but the details surrounding that event aren’t agreed on by anyone. The conspiracy theory surrounding JFK’s death didn’t take off until the mid 60’s after the Warren Report was released and the public was allowed to go through it. In the report, it states that Oswald was the lone shooter and that his motive was unknown. He had fired twice and had hit the president twice. When the report was released, most of the public believed what was inside. After a few years of eccentric personalities taking the time to read through the report and debate the details, holes started appearing in the official narrative. For starters, the killing itself didn’t make sense. The way in which Kennedy was shot was impossible. He was shot once in the neck, with the bullet exiting the front of his neck and bouncing around the body of the Texas governor, who was sitting directly in front of the president. To make the path of the bullet physically possible, the bullet would have had to weave in and out of the governors body, similar to the path a sowing machine takes when it is stitching. The second shot hits Kennedy in the back of the head, ending his life instantly.

Oswald had in fact, missed his target. The bullet hit a picture frame and fragmented, leaving Walker with superficial injuries. When Oswald found out his plot has failed, he was disappointed but at the same time relieved. Soon after the assassination attempt, Oswald travelled to Mexico in the hopes that he would be able to convince the Soviet embassy in Mexico to take him to Cuba. After his long journey to Mexico, he met with the Soviet authorities who dismissed his request and sent him packing. Upon returning to Dallas, Oswald got his final job in the Texas book depository, located along the parade route that Kennedy would take during his trip to Dallas. At this time it is not known when Oswald decided he would kill JFK, but it is likely that he only got the idea when he saw that Kennedy’s parade route ran right past the book depository, when it was published in the local Dallas newspaper. While we will never know why or when Oswald decided to kill Kennedy, we do know that he had to have planned it somewhat before the parade as he had brought his rifle to work that day and had waited for Kennedy to pass. When Kennedy did pass, shots rang out and within seconds, Dallas had erupted and the President was dead. Oswald quickly left the book depository and by the end of the day would kill a police officer and get arrested. While the official narrative ends here, the conspiracy is a little more interesting

Oswald expected a sea of reporters to be waiting for him when he stepped off the plane in Dallas. Instead, he saw only his mother, who was there to pick him up. As Oswald settled into his new life in Dallas, his bloated persona caused him further problems, as he was fired continuously from various menial jobs, due to employers finding his personality disagreeable. As he bounced from job to job, his mind began slipping further into his neurotic delusions. After losing another job, he packed up and went to Florida, looking to gather support for Fidel Castro in Miami. For those familiar with the political situation in Miami in 1963, 1963 was a strenuous year, especially for recently arrived Cuban refugees who had settled in Miami after escaping Castro’s Cuba. A pathetically scrawny guy holding pro-Castro signs in the streets of Miami was not taken well, with multiple altercations ending in Oswald’s arrest. Oswald was not done with his political activism, but his radicalism was increasing to violent extremes. After befriending a rich, well connected Russian in Dallas, Oswald determined to make his mark on history and forward the socialist cause, he needed to kill far right politician General Walker. Walker was known for his extremely conservative beliefs and after giving a speech, Oswald prepared to use his newly bought Carcano rifle to shoot General Walker. Oswald showed up to Walkers house and prepared to take his shot. As Oswald shot, he immediately ran, not checking if he had hit his target.

Lee Harvey Oswald was not only conveniently a communist but also a natural troublemaker. Oswald’s life gets relevant when he joined the military and quickly started causing problems. Oswald always had a narcissistic personality and a sense of grandeur as he would pretend he was a Russian spy when he was stationed in Korea. He was a committed communist which didn’t win the sympathies of any of his comrades in the Army since the Cold War was raging at the time and having communist sympathies did not make you any friends. While Oswald was in the service, he was quickly losing motivation and the drudgery of his everyday life made him become more disillusioned with American nationalism. He decided to defect to the Soviet Union and when he arrived, he expected to be greeted as a loyal hero who had left the US to fight for socialism abroad. Instead, he was regarded as an unstable loser that was only a liability. Instead of the cushy government position that Oswald expected, he was given a job in a television factory. While he justified this slight by the Soviets as a necessary stepping stone in his new socialist life, his narcissism quickly got the best of him and he figured that the USSR did not only deserve to have him, but they were going to be losing a vital comrade. He somehow got the permission to return to the United States, bringing with him his new Russian wife. Upon arriving to the US, he quickly got to work.

The CIA’s history of political assassinations raises eyebrows considering the events of the 1960s. During the 1960s, the US saw a pattern of regular political assassinations targeting some of the most influential figures of the 60s. In 1963, JFK was assassinated and only 5 years later his brother was also killed during his presidential run. Malcolm X was killed in 1965 and 3 years later MLK was also killed. While these assassinations were all separate, they did have many things in common. The biggest similarities were in who they were. JFK, RFK, Malcolm X and MLK were all figures that were not only hated by the establishment, but they were making great strides in destroying the establishment. The assassinations themselves were all very similar, political extremists that acted upon opportunity who were quickly caught and sentenced. While the CIA was not necessarily involved in these assassinations, the actual assassinations themselves are very similar to the assassinations that the CIA carried out elsewhere around the world. Once the shooter had been identified and incarcerated, a narrative was able to be formed about the assassination and the case was closed. This was especially useful in the case of JFK and MLK. Being as famous as they were,it was inevitable that there their deaths would be scrutinized intensely, looking for motive and pouring over every aspect of the story. Both JFK and MLK were killed by political extremists, that were quickly apprehended and locked up. While they are both interesting cases, JFK's killer, Lee Harvey Oswald is the most interesting of all

During the 1960’s the CIA was tasked with dealing with Fidel Castro. When Castro came to power, he established a Marxist ally to the USSR just 90 miles away from the USA. During the cold war, the thought of having an enemy nuclear power 90 miles away was unconscionable. While the CIA desperately tried to kill Castro, they were never able to successfully get him. At the beginning, the attempts were more typical, gunmen and assassins but as time went on, the CIA plots got more fantastical. From exploding cigars to poisoned diving suits, the CIA tried every conceivable way to kill the guy. While they never got him, some of the attempts came within seconds or inches of being successful. As the Cuban situation deteriorated, the CIA gave up on the attempts to kill Castro and opted to just invade the entire country. The bay of pigs invasion went just as horribly as the other attempts on Castro’s life. The CIA used their old playbook by enlisting disillusioned Floridian Cubans to invade Cuba on the CIA’s dime. The weapons were provided and the invasion was put together. The CIA had promised that they would provide the rebels air support to take out some of the stronger defenses. JFK, who was president at the time got cold feet midway through the invasion and pulled back the US aircover, leading to the slaughter of the would be invaders. After a treacherous night on the invasion beach, the CIA pulled out of Cuba and resolved to making more explosive cigars for Castro.

MK ULTRA is the tip
While Mk-Ultra is an extreme subject, the chaos doesn’t stop there. Since the 1950’s the CIA has for some reason, been unable to stop conducting horrifying, nightmare projects. In the 1950’s the CIA needed a way to dispose of annoying political leaders that would allow them to not only eliminate heads of states, but also control the ensuing anarchy once they were able to collapse a country. Since we were engaged in the cold war, assassinations were crucial in stopping communist uprising in smaller countries. The CIA has always deployed technology ahead of it’s time but they have also developed world class methods of destruction and death. When it comes to political assassinations, there is none better than the CIA. The assassination formula was developed by the CIA in the 1950’s when they began disposing of leaders in South America. The game plan was rather simple, use a CIA operative or a rival political group to carry out the assassination, usually by gun shot or bomb, and then frame the rival political group for the assassination. After the leaderless government collapsed, the CIA would then provide weapons and manpower to the friendly faction, neutralizing any opposition to the coup. While this strategy seems natural, it was actually unique. Instead of just providing financial and military support to a friendly faction, the CIA would have boots on the ground, securing whatever objectives that were out of reach for the local fighters. While there were many “success” stories, it didn’t always work out.

mk ultra is the tip
When the project was discovered in 1973, it was officially stopped and all the records were ordered to be destroyed. Other forms of evidence were destroyed as well including some witnesses who would have been able to divulge the secrets of the program. Frank Olsen was one unlucky witness to lose his life during the MK Ultra experimentation. Olsen had been working with the CIA on the program and had been witness to some of the more illegal activities committed. In 1953, Olsen was himself unknowingly dosed with LSD personally by Sidney Gottlieb. A week after his dosing, Olsen leapt to his death from the hospital where they had been studying him. While his death was ruled a suicide, the family sued the US government and had his body exhumed. After inspecting the corpse, it was found that Olsen had been knocked unconscious when he had fallen. Olsen’s case is not unique, the further you dig into the activities of MK-Ultra. When the project was discovered, the CIA went to great lengths to destroy any revealing evidence, in which they were mostly successful. While the documents pertaining to MK-Ultra are sparse, there has been discoveries recently that have connected missing segments in the evidence and shed new light on the program. The most recent finds were at UCLA, found in a undocumented folder was dozens of letters between Sidney Gottlieb and Louis West describing the program and their progress. This information is of great importance for those researching MK-Ultra as it makes it easier to expose without having to delve into conspiracy theory.

When asked during the senate hearings, why there was a concentration of testing in San Francisco, the head of MK-Ultra, Sidney Gottlieb responded that the hippie movement that was centered in San Francisco provided countless subjects that could be experimented on and due to their lack of credibility, would not be believed if they told anybody about their experience. The project was also exported to Canada. The CIA discovered a psychiatrist that had taken to experimenting on his patients, and after recruiting him, paid him to put patients into week long drug comas, playing loops of various messages to them while they were unconscious and then electro shocking them up to 40 times the accepted voltage limit. Many of these patients had mild mental health symptoms when they entered his care such as anxiety or post natal depression. Many of them left with permanent psychological and physical damage. While it sounds like conspiracy, these facts came out in the senate hearings in the 1970’s. While we may never know the true extent of the experiments, the ones we do know of leave no room for wonder or debate into how awful these things truly were. The aspect of the program that we have little knowledge of is the detention centers that were created overseas. In various areas occupied by American forces, mainly Asia, the CIA set up facilities that would take prisoners to perform various experiments and tortures on without having to be mindful of American law that protects citizens in America.

While there were many sources of test subjects, the most popular were the jails and mental institutions. A few years ago, letters of correspondence were found at UCLA between two MK Ultra scientists, one of which ran a mental institution in San Francisco. As they were discussing the project, Louis West, head of the mental institution, declared that his patients would be perfect test subjects as they were already considered insane and no one would believe them if they told anyone they had been experimented on. Louis West was a key figure in MK-Ultra, even though he wasn’t officially connected to the project until recently. The fact that West, who was the head of UCLA’s psychiatry department, was simultaneously conducting illegal mind control experiments with the CIA illuminates the scope of the sketchy activities the CIA was conducting at the time. Another source of West’s test subjects were set up in San Francisco at numerous houses that the CIA set up to attract hippies to, only to drug them and study the effects. While it is not known if West was involved, the people running the safe houses were graduate students who were recruited from West’s very own psychiatry department at UCLA. The majority of the experimentation during the late 60’s was done in California, especially around the bay area. The operation Midnight Climax was done at this time, bringing men into fake brothels were they were dosed with LSD and watched behind a two way mirror.

The Nazis had been using numerous drugs attempting to control the mind. One of the drugs they had the most success with was mescaline, a drug first synthesized in Germany. Dr. Kurt Plotner worked in Dachau as a doctor in the SS. His primary goal was to use mescaline to break down human will and autonomy. He experimented on Jews and prisoners of war. After the war, he was recruited by the CIA, and worked in the USA for over a decade before returning to Germany and being hired as a professor. The hiring of Dr. Plotner by the CIA was not an isolated case, thousands of Nazis were brought over and hidden from our allies. When France inquired to the whereabouts of Plotner, wanting to bring him to trial, the US responded that he was either dead or with the Russians. While the Nazi doctors had mainly used mescaline, the drug most famously used during MK Ultra was LSD. The switch came when some of the Nazi doctors met with Albert Hofmann, the father of LSD. At the time, LSD was still a new drug, and the effects were still be studied by Hofmann and others. Sidney Gottlieb responded well to the idea of using LSD to break down prisoners. By 1953, the CIA was doing human experiments on unaware subjects. While the majority of records were destroyed when the program was discovered in 1973, we know that the primary sources for subjects were prisons, hospitals and mental institutions.

Populism will become the primary political strategy in the 2020’s. Populism itself is defined as a political strategy that appeals to common people who believe that their concerns are disregarded by the establishment elite. While populism flourished in the 1930’s, I believe it will rise again and dominate world politics just like it did then. If I had wrote this ten years ago, it would have been much harder to lay out cohesive points with evidence and reason like I can now. In the last decade, we have seen a radical transformation in world politics, from the old establishment figures to new populist firebrands that shook the system to it’s core. During 2016, we saw the rise of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. While these two figures are political opposites, they, and their supporters, share many of the same attributes. Both Trump and Sanders are populist figures who grew authentic movements that pushed back on the establishment. They both promised their supporters they would destroy the establishment and put power into the hands of the common man. While their supporters generally dislike each other, they are the most similar major political groups that exist in the US. Both groups have radical ideas and have a devotion not to a party, but a singular figure. Both groups argue with passion and rely on emotional connection rather than statistics to get their points across. Another monumental similarity is the anger which both groups hold. While the anger may be directed at different things, the feeling that is felt by the MAGAs and the Bernie bros is red hot anger. One of blessings of the 2016 election was the ability to see what would happen in all sorts of “what if” scenarios. For starters, a billionaire, TV personality won the presidency, the establishment camps of both parties lost, in albeit, different ways, and the first major socialist movement in the US took off with Bernie Sanders. I believe the biggest difference in the campaigns of the Sanders and Trump was not the policies, but the way in which they were received by the establishment. Initially, Trump was not only hated by the establishment, his presidential run was debated on whether or not it was a joke! Trump did not receive good treatment like some of the other Republican nominees until later in the run, after he had gained a group of die hard, vocal supporters. Bernie’s story was similar, if less extreme, as he was generally ignored and labeled a crazy socialist early into his presidential run. Like Trump, as time went on, Bernie collected young, passionate followers who dominated much of the left wing discourse. The similarities split however, when the Republican party belatedly embraced Trump, while the Democratic party sought to sabotage Sanders. In my opinion, when this fundamental shift happened, the election was over, Trump was going to win. Ultimately, he did win in one of the greatest political upsets of all time. While many were surprised, I wasn’t. The presidency of Trump was made possible because of the unique era in which it took place. During 2016 we were riding a wave of a new political energy. Like I said, the two biggest candidates were very much unlike the normal establishment politicians such as Jeb Bush or Joe Biden. They were firebrands and icons, where their opponents were career politicians that presented a polished, manufactured aesthetic. More important than their aesthetic were their movements, the populist, with a motivated organic following, versus the establishment that uses billions of dollars to prop up an astro-turfed movement that lacks substance. While it was hard for populists to gain traction In the past, by 2016 we were increasingly moving into a new era in American politics, one motivated by emotion and grievance, rather than rhetoric and statistics. Fast forward to today, we are seeing this trend fully manifested. We are in the middle of an election, where a very similar phenomena is happening right before our eyes. On one side, we have the populist Trump, with a 97% approval rating within his own party and an extremely devoted base. On the other side, we have the neutered Bernie movement and the presumptive establishment nominee Biden. It seems that the Democrats are making the same mistake they did in 2016, by snubbing the grassroots Sanders campaign and picking the deeply establishment Biden for their nominee. It is clear statistically and anecdotally, that the excitement for Biden does not exist. The supporters of Bernie not only believed in his message but also believed in him as a man. This was very apparent when Bernie dropped out, only to have massive portions of his base basically pledge allegiance to him and vow to punish the Democratic party but either voting third party or not voting at all. Due to these same mistakes, Trump will win again easily in 2020 and if the democrats don’t change their strategy, they will have serious problems in 2024. While the focus has been on American politics, this trend of populism and tribalism has not been exclusive to the Union. All across the world we see the same political trends happening and we see the same strategies being used. Everywhere from President Modi in India, Boris Johnson in the UK, Bolsonaro in Brazil and Viktor Orban in Hungary, we see traditional post war politics be pushed aside for something that is both ancient and new. The 2010’s saw the birth of this new political wave, but in the 2020’s it will run it’s course. The 1920’s saw the rise of communism, the 1930’s saw fascism, but the political movements of today don’t break down the same way. Instead of one ideology becoming dominant, there are many ideologies sharing the same space, what has changed is the way in which these ideologies are presented. It’s true that the only real losers here are the centrists, the battle lines have now shifted to the fringes, as both diametrically opposed forces now go to war with each other. The time for unity has passed and now, the only thing that matters is if your side wins. I think young people have been able to acclimate to this new political world more efficiently than the older generations as young people have been increasingly taking the forefront in political dialogue and activism. In Sweden, a 16 year old girl named Greta Thunberg gained worldwide attention when she went on a tour speaking about climate change. At that moment, no one cared about tax law, or the negative affects of Greta’s agenda, all they cared about was this girl who was giving passionate speeches. This theme of emotion and passion have been seen all around the world. Many politicians have gained more fame from their tactics than their success. When French populist Marie le Pen lost to Macron in France, the majority of the news coverage didn’t surround Macron’s victory, it surrounded Le Pen’s defeat. As the younger generations become increasingly influential in society and politics, the same passion they felt when they were younger will be transferred into reality. Growing up in generation Z, we have seen nothing but war, recession, and corruption in our lives. The disillusionment with the system and the contempt we have for those in power who tell us not to worry, is starting to bear consequences. While many may fear populism, I think their fear is unmerited. To catch up to the radical changes in our society, we need radical change. We need to fight fire with fire, or else the system will not be able to go on. For so long, the system has been held together by the elite at the top, but the years of stagnation in the economy, climate and society are taking its toll and we need solutions before it’s too late. While the establishment relies on the status quo, in fact I would venture to say it exists to propagate the status quo. As long as the ones at the top can effectively control those beneath them, they can keep the system running to their own benefit. This is materialized in the way which the elite gets to participate in society. When an elite commits a crime, they are given a slap on the wrist, rarely receiving lasting punishment. There are many in our government and society that get to play by their own rules as they contribute to the societal decay. This sort of immunity is increasingly noticed by the masses. The populist figures that are rising up is the response of the disillusioned masses. During the election of 2016, Trump spun his rallies into chants of “Lock her up” and “Drain the swamp”. Without making a moral judgement on these terms, the underlying attitude is that of a resentment of the elite and those who are perceived as being invulnerable to justice. We will continue to see what is already happening before our eyes, the common man has said “enough” and whatever comes next will be the reaction and retribution for what has been decades of decadence.

MK ultra was a project by the CIA from the 1950’s-1970’s that focused on developing a mind control drug that would give the CIA the ability to use unwitting victims to do the bidding of the CIA, but not remembering their actions, making them useless in interrogation. Since the majority of records were destroyed before the senate hearings in 1973, we do not officially know how successful they were in developing that drug, what we do know is that the CIA used American citizens in their tests without their consent or knowledge and “coincidentally” many famous murders and terrorists were later linked to the program. To fully understand the disturbing nature of the project, we must look at its origins. During World War 2, the Germans and the Japanese wanted to develop drugs to be able to control people. The main focus was developing a truth serum that could be used during confessions, but due to the experimental nature of the projects, there were all sorts of other weirder objectives that they were experimenting with. The Nazi’s had produced many psychedelic drugs that they would use on inmates in the Dachau concentration camp. After the war, the Americans secretly important thousands of Nazi scientists during Operation paper clip, many of them were directly involved in the drug experiments in the concentration camps. It is official record that many of the Nazi’s who had developed these chemicals along with various other torture methods, instructed the CIA on their findings.

While it is debatable whether Patton was killed by shady government agencies, it is true that those same agencies that many of us distrust today, were just beginning to flourish in the post-WW2 era. The FBI, CIA and other units like the OSS, were given enormous amounts of power during WW2 to combat the Axis, but after the war ended, the power they held was never really relinquished. Almost immediately after World War 2, the western powers were confronted with the new enemy of socialism. Instead of closing up the military factories and scrapping the tanks, we had them running at full production. It wasn’t just the production of equipment that was running at full strength, it was also our many intelligence agencies and backdoor military groups. Due to the fear of spies and nuclear war, our covert agencies were essential to our ability to fight communism during the cold war. Instead of dropping bombs, we were dropping spies. The one downside to our strategy was the immense power that these autonomous agencies gained during the time of crisis. Without the usual checks and balances, these agencies were able to wield the might of the United States of America, without any oversight or accountability. The resulting fiasco resulted in 3 decades of pure insanity from mind control experiments to political assassinations and everything in between. The first CIA program that I’m going to write on is the MK Ultra program that was run from 1953 until 1972.
