I've been replaying the recent Tomb Raider trilogy and this idea wouldn't leave me alone today. Based on the opening tomb from Rise of the Tomb Raider.
TW: Guns and explosions.
If she was being perfectly honest, Jane wasn't entirely sure how she'd managed to get herself in this situation. She normally stayed at their base of operations and talked one of the others through the field work and provided first aid when things got a little heated. She wasn't physically the strongest or even the fastest but Jane knew however, the reason she'd been picked for this particular mission wasn't for the end goal but for who they might meet on the way. After all, they weren't the only ones after the Divine Source.
Jane scrambled up a bit of crumbling wall, pulling herself onto a stable pillar. She fiddled with a button on her radio to give herself an open mic and looked around her surroundings in awe.
"It's beautiful in here Cathy."
Her earpiece crackled to life.
"What can you see?"
"Lots of skeletons, the Prophet isn't the only one buried here but there's paintings and murals on the walls, all leading up to a big alter, I think that's where we need to look."
"Alright, just be careful and if you cross paths with him... remember I gave you that gun for a reason."
Jane's hand tapped the object strapped to her thigh. "I know, I just hope I don't have to use it."
There was silence between them for a moment as Jane started to climb higher before a thought crossed her mind.
"Any word from Anne and Catherine?"
"Nothing as of yet."
"I still don't understand why you sent them off as a pair"
"They might bicker to the ends of the Earth but they do make a pretty unstoppable team when they put their heads together"
Jane chuckled. "I'll take your word for it."
Cathy laughed too. "Anyway, how are you doing?"
"Pretty good, I think I can see the sarcophag- OW!"
"Jane? Are you alright?"
Jane hissed in pain. "I'm fine, just slipped and cut my palm on the rock."
"I thought I told you to be careful!"
"I was... ugh!... Being... urgh!... Careful!"
With one last heave, Jane pushed her body onto the altar and rolled onto her back, catching her breath. When she was ready, Jane sat up and looked at the sarcophagus.
"It's here, Cathy, we were right."
Jane could hear Cathy sigh with relief on the other end of the line.
"Open it, let's see what we've been looking for."
Placing her hands on the edge of the lid, Jane pushed with all her might... only to find the tomb completely empty.
"What?" she whispered to herself. "This can't be right, we were so sure!"
"What is it Jane? What's the matter?"
"The tomb! It's -"
But Jane didn't have a chance to finish her sentence. Closing in on her location, she could hear voices, distinctively male voices.
"They're here!" Jane hissed down the radio. "Going silent."
"No! Jane wait!"
But it was too late. Jane had already turned it off.
Not even a minute later, footsteps approached the sarcophagus. Jane did her best to listen. Three people maybe?
"Set the charges!"
She recognised that voice immediately, so he was here after all. Their suspicions had been well justified. There was rustling, a few clicks and then everything was still until he spoke again.
"Open it."
Jane held her breath. In her rush of panic to hide, she'd chosen the one spot with no escape route.
Inside the empty tomb.
She drew her gun and held it close... waited for the second she saw the lid beginning to move... and jumped up, pointing the barrel of her weapon directly at her brother.
The two men who'd been pushing the lid recoiled immediately. So she'd been right, there were three of them, but Jane kept her eyes on the man in front of her. He smirked in return.
"Hello, Jane."
"What are you doing here, Thomas?"
"Same thing as you I'd imagine. I was hoping you'd send my good for nothing wife but you'll do I suppose, didn't think you had it in you to be honest. You were always so... dull."
Jane tightened her grip. He was messing with her, trying to make her angry. Well, Jane wouldn't let him.
"Cathy is your wife on paper only, nothing more, I'll die before I let you touch her again."
Thomas chuckled. "I'm sure that can be arranged."
Quick as a flash, Thomas lunged at Jane, grabbing her by the front of her t shirt and pressed a gun to her temple.
"You really think I won't kill you? Once I get Henry the Divine Source, he'll bring you back from the dead and then you'll belong to him for all eternity, would you like that Jane?"
"You wouldn't dare," Jane growled back at him, her face quickly turning into a smirk of her own. "Not when I have this."
In the split second it took Thomas to check his belt, Jane had kicked him away from her, dived back behind the sarcophagus and pressed the trigger of Thomas's remote detonator. The blasts overhead rocked the entire tomb and it wasn't long until large slabs of rock started raining down and the woosh of running water could be heard behind her. Jane turned just in time to see a huge wave heading straight for her. She had to get out of there and she had to do it now.
Running as fast as she could, Jane took off in the opposite direction, vaulting over low ledges and scrambling up growing evermore unstable walls. She ran and ran and ran until finally, daylight. Jane flung herself behind a pillar as water rushed passed her, finally safe. She sat down, got her breath back and turned her radio back on.
"Jane?! JANE?!?!"
"I'm here, Cathy, I'm here."
"Oh thank goodness, I was thinking the worst... what did you find?"
"Nothing, it was empty. My brother showed up though."
Jane could feel Cathy tense, even through the radio.
"What did he say?"
"He let slip that he's working for Henry."
She ran her hand absentmindedly over the ground by her feet until her fingers met a groove in the stone. Jane looked more closely. It was a carving of a symbol. She'd seen that symbol before, she was sure of it but where however, she couldn't quite remember. It was as good a lead as any though.
"Cathy, I think I might have just found our next clue."

9 in fluff with anna and kat?
Sorry this took a few days, work has been a bit busy but I hope you like!
"Sleep over?"
Katherine was colouring. She'd recently got a new patterns colouring book and a new pack of pens and was excitedly colouring one page in a variety of blues, pinks and purples. But hearing the voice of her best friend, she looked up.
"We live in the same house Anna, how can we have a sleep over?"
"We don't share a room, you could stay in mine tonight."
Katherine thought it over for a moment before she heard a quiet
"Please?"
And was met with the biggest pair of puppy eyes she'd ever seen. Katherine "awwwed" internally and smiled before answering.
"I'd love to come over for a sleep over."
Anna beamed, "Shall we say 8:00pm?"
"Sounds perfect."
Katherine couldn't help but giggle as Anna have her a quick hug and ran up the stairs of their shared house.
At 8:00pm sharp, Katherine knocked on Anna's door, duvet, pillows and her favourite dog plushie tucked securely under her arms. The door swung open not a moment later to reveal a pyjama clad Anna. She smiled and stepped to one side to let Katherine into her bedroom.
Anna's bed was stripped of all its bedding, Anna having thrown it into a nest on the floor underneath a blanket canopy. The plushies from her collection (she had a lot) were dotted all around like a small guard although her favourite, Katherine noticed was sat on a pillow inside the cosy tent, lit with the soft glow of fairy lights.
"Make yourself comfortable, I thought we could watch a movie, I got that Disney one you like."
"That sounds perfect!"
Katherine crawled into the bedding nest, adding her duvet and pillows to the pile whilst Anna set up the film. Once she was settled, she looked up to see Anna waiting, DVD remote in hand. Katherine patted the spot beside her and in a flash, Anna dived in beside her. The pair snuggled up together under a blanket and relaxed as Anna pushed play.
The next morning, Jane was sat at the kitchen table, drinking her tea and enjoying a bit of embroidery. Catherine and Anne had gone out, (it was their turn to do the food shop) and Cathy was in the living room reading which gave Jane a few minutes peace to herself. Looking up at the clock, she began to wonder where Anna and Katherine were. She knew Katherine liked to lay in sometimes but Anna was usually up by now. Jane put down her sewing and padded upstairs. Katherine had told her yesterday that she was staying with Anna that night so Jane went straight to Anna's room.
She knocked lightly on the door but upon not receiving an answer, Jane gently opened the door and peered around the door frame. Peaking out from under the blanket tent, Katherine was curled into Anna's side, Anna's arm holding her close. They were both fast asleep. Jane smiled and shut the door quietly, leaving the pair to sleep.

A quick bit of fluff because today is a sad day...
Jane really didn't think they'd all fit in one bed but she had quite happily been proven wrong.
For once, none of them were scared or upset or in trouble. They'd just collectively decided they wanted to be together that night.
So that's what they did.
All six of them piled onto Jane's bed. Kitty curled up into Jane's side, Anna on Kitty's other side with an arm wrapped around the youngest Queen. Catherine and Cathy were lead cuddling together at their feet and Anne had decided just to lie across everyone though none of them minded in the slightest.
They were together, they were content, they were family.

A Blank Canvas
I wrote this on my phone at 2:00am so apologies if it doesn't make sense but I hope you enjoy anyway
The sudden feeling of her palms hitting a cold floor jolted Jane Seymour out of 500 years of sleep. She took a few minutes to breathe again, to let her body wake up before slowly pushing herself up from the ground and took a look at her surroundings. Pictures of people surrounded her, some she recognised, others not. It didn't take her long to figure out she was in a gallery. Behind her on the wall, was a picture frame, containing the portrait of none other but herself. Looking down at her attire, she noticed she was wearing the same clothing as she was in the painting. Had she come from the painting? Was she the painting brought to life? Jane wondered. She didn't feel like a painting but then, how else could she explain what had happened?
She shook her head, there would be plenty of time to figure that out later, but first, she had to get out of here. Jane looked around the walls to try and see any signs of an exit but everything was written in a strange English that was in some ways very similar and in others, completely confusing. She was starting to get desperate when another picture caught her eye.
Jane looked at the boy in the painting. She couldn't help noticing how much he looked like her. The same eyes, the same blonde hair, the same face shape... It couldn't be, could it?
She looked at the small information square next to the frame. It read "King Edward VI".
Jane gasped quietly. It was him, it was her son, her Edward... but he looked so young, how old had he been when Henry died?
A small glimmer of light caught in the corner of Jane's eye. She turned away from the painting to see the edge of a canvas on the adjacent wall to hers glowing with a soft light. Jane winced ever so slightly when she saw the occupant of the painting.
Oh no.
Watching on, the image seemed to blur and then falling from the frame, was a woman dressed similar to herself. She landed in a heap of fabric on the floor and everything was still. Jane didn't dare breathe, just waiting patiently and slightly anxious. Then, when the figure groaned and curled tighter into herself, Jane suddenly remembered her place and cautionsly walked over.
"My lady?" she whispered bending down and gently placing a hand on their shoulder. "My lady, are you alright?"
Another groan was her response. Jane sighed briefly.
"Come on, let's sit you up."
Jane helped them into a sitting position, one arm supporting their back, the other feeling the woman's forehead for any signs of illness. When she was satisfied they were both alright, Jane just waited for her companion to open their eyes and when she finally did, staring back at her were the brown eyes of Anne Bolyen... and she did not look best pleased to see her.
"Not you, anyone but you" Anne groaned.
Jane didn't blame her. They hadn't exactly been the best of friends at court back then. She had a sudden flashback of the day Anne had caught her sat in his lap. Jane hadn't wanted to but he was the King and she couldn't exactly say no. It had been her family's idea for her to pursue Henry when he began showing an interest in her and Jane, not wanting to upset or disappoint, had gone along with it.
In a quiet voice ladened with guilt, Jane spoke. "I know"
That surprised Anne. She'd expected Jane to maybe put up a fight, not agree with her. They sat in silence again for a few moments until Anne spoke again.
"Still, at least you're not him" she said nodding up at the ginormous picture of their former husband which hung between their portraits.
"I never meant for you to die, I didn't agree with what you were doing but I thought he'd send you to a convent not... kill you."
Anne didn't say anything, just listened, taking in everything Jane was saying.
"When I heard you were being tried for treason, I went to him, begged him to spare you but he got angry and told me to not get involved with his business, I really did try."
Light sniffles reached Anne's ears... was Jane crying? She turned to look at her and confirmed that yes, Jane indeed did have tears running down her face.
"Dry your eyes Lady Seymour, deep down I know it wasn't really your fault." Anne sighed, "you were just easier to blame."
Jane wiped her eyes on her sleeve. 'Very unladylike' a small voice in her head told her but right now, she didn't care.
"Like you said earlier, he was the King, he could do no wrong so as much as I wanted to blame him, I couldn't."
Jane nodded, she understood completely but still couldn't help the guilt in her stomach.
"I really am sorry my lady, for everything that happened."
"Anne, call me Anne, I have a feeling we're going to be stuck together for a while."
"Then you must call me Jane."
Anne nodded and stood up before offering her hand to Jane and pulling her up.
"Well then Jane, shall we see if we can discover where we are?"

Plain Jane - Part One
It was Jane's day off from the show today. She hadn't told the others where she was going, simply saying that she was running errends for most of the day. Where she actually ended up however, was St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, looking at her own tomb, right next to the man she loved.
Did she love him?
In that moment, Jane really didn't know.
She had loved him at one point. But did she love him for her or for her family? They all knew, herself included that a marriage to the King would elevate their family considerably. So Jane had done it. She'd followed her father and brother's wishes and married him. She had been happy, (had she?) for the most part to play the role she was given, the devotive wife, bound to obey and serve. But seeing how she was now remembered in history hurt. Plain Jane, the doormat Queen, who'd had the son and died. Was that how people saw her? Was that how the other Queens, her family saw her? Jane hoped not, she really did. She knew she wasn't as outspoken as Catherine, not as mischievous as Anne or even Kat when she joined in with her cousin's games. She was far from cool unlike Anna and no way near as interesting as Cathy. But part of her hoped they saw something at least a little quirky in her. Right? Otherwise why would they keep her around?
Unpleasant thoughts in Jane's head started to spiral. She knew this sign, it wasn't good. Quickly, Jane shook her head and made her decision. If there was nothing interesting about her, she'd make something and standing up, she strode out of the Chapel, a look of determination on her face.

TW: Brief violence
Henry storms over to Jane, they stand a hairs width apart and he growls.
"I will always be King of you"
"You were never King of me"
Suddenly Henry's hand flies up and smacks Jane clean across the face and the room goes still. Cleves goes to move to Henry, anger blazing in her eyes but Parr puts her arm up to stop her, this was Jane's fight and she was still standing.
Slowly, she raises her head and looks Henry directly in the eyes. The love she once felt for him was gone, she was finally seeing him clearly, a tyrant who destroyed the lives of six wonderful women.
Her family.
The next thing that happens shocks them all, Jane herself included but in one quick move, she raises her fist and punches the man square in the face with a powerful left hook none of them thought Jane could produce.
Henry slumped to the floor with a thud.
"Oh shit..." Parr whispered.
"Is he dead?" Katherine said with a squeak.
"Jane... that was AWESOME!" Anne exclaimed.
"I should have done that back in the 1500's" Aragon said mainly to herself.
"Are you alright Jane?" Anna asked, walking over to Jane and gently placing a hand on her shoulder. Jane for her part was just staring down at the man on the floor.
