The other day two 4-5 year old girls came into my work and asked for a hot chocolate. They were so cute so I asked if they wanted sprinkles on top as well. One of them blurted out “Are you a boy or a girl?” A little taken aback I responded “what do you think?” The other girl said “You have a boy face and boy hair but your voice is girl.” To my surprise the first girl that had spoke, spoke again “You are cool because you can be both boy and girl.” They then proceeded to ask where there hot chocolate was.

I needed to share this because I find it so important to acknowledge the fact that two young girls can ask a question in a way that doesn’t violate me or make me uncomfortable. Instead of judging, they simply thought, “Cool. That’s different but it’s cool.”

Dear Forever Press Release

Tyler Skyy’s ‘Dear Forever’ is a piece of art from start to finish. It features names such as BDice, Northwest Division, and JayKin, as well as rising Vancouver stars like Carley Belfrey and 17-year old Neyvone. Tyler’s pre-released single “Smiling” (in full support of the Ronald McDonald House BC) is also featured on the project, a song which Tyler had the opportunity to work with Vancouver’s “Pacific Spirit Children’s Choir” on.

In this record, 21-year old Tyler goes in to detail his past with heart surgeries, and the struggles of moving away at a young age to pursue music while keeping a positive message throughout; no matter where you are, Point Up. Tyler is currently living in Vancouver and has spent over 15 months working on this project. Dear Forever is his proudest and most mature work to date.

Although working a full-time job and doing music is already tough enough on time, Tyler plans to do quite a few live shows to promote Dear Forever. At the end of the day, getting the message of positivity out is the most important part of this entire dream. Point Up.
