Hey. So, about that...

Nothing's changed. They will simply be more brazen, and have more open support rather than behind-closed-doors. You're about to find out who your friends are, so be ready for that. We're gonna see some shit, and things are going to be grim on both the international and national fronts. The only way out is through, folks.

Call your friends. Let them know you're thinking of them. That, if needed, your couch is free and your door is open. When you find the ones who are spouting vitriol, you have a choice: try to fix it, or just sever the connection. Either way is hard, either way will make your heart heavy. I'll be doing a mixture of both, with some extremely defensive calculus about who's worth the time.

If I had all the time, they'd all be worth it. But I don't.

Tomorrow, my door will still be open. My couch will still be free. There will still be a plate for you. I'm currently in the Jacksonville, FL suburbs but that might change, depending on what happens vis-a-vis Scott/DeSantis.

In the meantime, and I mean this seriously, please reach out if you need a shoulder, or plate, or bus fare. I don't know how much I'll have of any of the above, but until it's gone, it's given freely.

A while back I made this comic about how a lot of alt-right nong nongs saw trans folks, and how I saw myself. It was funny how many trans folks actually saw themselves in image that fit more in with the alt-right nong nongs, or at least saw that image as aspirational. While I have NEVER been even close to that cool. But I tell you that (and include that image) so that I can explain my first real attempt at making a paper doll. I decided to use those two outfits as the clothes for my Mary Sue version of myself, and draw some of the accoutrement that went with that image. THE DUCK WAS REVEALED. But I also thought it would be fun to include outfits of characters and things I loved. So you get my human rogue's leather armor and equipment (and little compy) from my D&D campaign. You get my urban fantasy wizard's character's clothes. You get the VR-041 Heavy Cyclone armor (Lancer/Yellow Dancer's cyclone, natch). You get Rogue's X-men outfit from Jim Lee in the 90's. You get post-apocalypse Velma and Scoob. You get creepy pyjamas. It was very fun. If you have the time, I highly recommend making paper dolls.

April rent has been completely covered! Looking ahead to May and June now. Every little bit will help. Please help?

The housemate is now home again.

There's still a lot of stuff that has to be set up, but, it's also on him. There are, currently, three days each week that he's going to be spending in dialysis. He has no return-to-work date set right now.

Any and all help, financially, is greatly appreciated. Currently about $100 short for April rent, and $1300 short on May rent.

Trying to manage all this, while being on the spectrum, and being unable to even entertain asking family for help, is overwhelming and then some.

The housemate is slated to come home on the 24th. I cannot just stop the fundraising when that happens, though. Please help?

The update on things is that the housemate is financially flat-lined. If 'thoughts and prayers' were actual currency then I'd be covered for a decade's worth of rent by this point.

For those who don't know: the housemate has become mobility disabled due to a life-altering injury, and then there's the other medical conditions that took the opportunity to go "hiiii, we're heeeere!" They're in a care facility at this point--they've been there since the beginning of December 2023.

I cannot cover the rent on my own, in its entirety, because I do not pull in enough income to do so. I've depleted my tiny buffer and have no other resources. Family is unable to help any more than they already do. Being Autistic, and trying to handle all my Things while dealing with this on my own is making it very difficult to maintain what little 'cool-headedness' I've had in my day to day. I am drowning under the pressure and therapy and meds can only get me so far.

Please, please help.
