Examine hillside
The hillside is really just another part of the mountain, and there is nothing special about it. However the path leading around it does seem fairly nice. What at first looked like stepped stones you can now see are carved slats of quartz sitting in the ground to make a path around. Many of them are cracked and broken, though some are still whole.
Derek - "This is it boys. Oliver, I'd like you to wait here. I know you've not been to keen on this to begin with. Also if anyone else shows up, I want you to holler for us."
Oliver - "S-s-sure."
Camron - "And me, sir?"
Derek - "You're coming with me kid."

Act 1
You are currently Camron.
The time is mid-day, and you have set out on your journey up the mountain. Derek hacks away at the underbrush in front of you as the path begins to get more narrow.
Derek - "Are you sure this is the right way kid?"
Camron - "Yeah, I remember seeing the tip of some structure while I was here a few years ago, and since we've found all the notes, it seems like this is the place."
Derek - "I hope you're right, I want to study them." -snigger-
Oliver - "What was that sir?"
Derek - "Nothing fatty. Just keep carrying that bag of mine till we get there."
Fairly soon, the brush starts to clear up and in front of you starts a stone path that winds around the hillside.

Stop wasting time and head out.
Right, this is a serious matter at hand. You begin to head out of the inn when the scene switches. You are now Camron.
You've arrived at the village square as people buzz about. Down one road you can see Oliver dragging himself your way - he doesn't seem too enthusiastic about today at all. Down the other road, you can see the Archeologist striding your way, proud, as though he was about to seize the day and make it his. Today was going to be a good day.
End of Introduction.

Ready tools
You reach into our bag and grab a few items, sticking them into your inventory. A pair of white gloves, which automatically equip themselves, a machete, and a small lock box. All in all, you now have 7 blocks out of 200 taken up.

Review notes.
You take the notes you've been making out of your bag and look over them one last time, making sure you haven't forgotten any details. To any onlooker, the notes would look like a bunch of garbage, but you can decipher your own cipher in your head.
The legends speak of a ruin hidden in the southernmost area of Domoria, said to be a holy site to the priests of the ancient religion. It is rumored through the scriptures that there was housed a powerful item of sorts, that can - if my readings are to be believed - "tear apart reality with the power of the elements." It is this power which I seek, for when I have found it, none of the regional rulers will be able to stand up to my wrath any longer.

Derek Marsden.
Derek Marsden. Yes, admiring the fancy lettering of your name always brings a sense of self accomplishment. And today was a very important day indeed, for if you were correct, the boys would lead you straight to the source of the power you have been wanting all these years.

Archibald Winters
Archibald Winters. No, no, no. That's much to silly for someone as profound and rooted as yourself. Something much more simple, but with a darker ring to it sits on your nametag. A name that makes people shiver once they've really gotten to know you, unlike the kids in this village, who are oh so naive.

Venture out to meet with friend.
You look around your room one last time and start to head out, nervous about what today could bring. As you head out the door, the scene switches again. You are now the Archeologist.
You sit in a room at the local inn, pondering over the trip you are to make today. A long, dark brown coat hangs over your tall, built frame, and a red goatee sprouts from your chiseled chin. Your hair is long and red, and is neatly placed into a ponytail that hangs down a little past your shoulder blades. The read hair contrasts your purple eyes, and a wide brimmed hat sits on your head. Since you were a young child many years ago, you've always wanted to find the ruins mentioned in the ancient language, for you believe they hold a subtly mentioned power of sorts that you wish to harness. A bag sits on the floor not to far from your bed, and your name is inscribed on it. It reads....

Check stack of shields.
Checking out your shields, most of them are just lumps of curved metal. However, two of them stand out the most.
The Phalanx - A large curved shield, it's curved enough to be able to duck under it fairly effectively.
The Tower - A tall, scrawny shield. It makes a very effective wall, but you didn't use enough metal when making it, so it's not wide enough for you to get full cover behind.

Take a gander out the window.
You cannot take a gander out of the window, for you have no geese in the vicinity. However, you can and do take a look out of the window. Outside, you see a dirt road leading to the village proper. A bunch of other houses sit along the road, and in the distance you can see the village well. People are about, going from house to house and likely the market that is further down the road, out of sight.

Oliver Foley
Oliver Foley. It looks good inscribed on the desk like that, you think to yourself. Today was a big day for Camron, and while you want no part in it, you’re being dragged along anyway. The histories said nothing that seemed good about these ruins, and that’s what makes you so suspicious of the Archeologist. Alas, you made a promise to Camron, and you'll be damned if you're going to break it. You told him you'd meet him and the Archeologist in the village square.

Start heading out.
You start to head outside when the scene switches. You are now the friend.
You sit in a wooden house similar to Camron’s, though your room is slightly more decorated. Your have a cleanly kept head of short blonde hair, and wear a pair of corrective lenses over your brown eyes. You aren't in the best of shape, though your arms are fit from lifting heavy objects all day. Last month, you turned 12, and today your best friend turns 13. Various paints splatter the wooden walls, and your desk is filled with writing. Instead of a pile of swords, you have a few shields. Where Camron liked to play offensively, you were always the defensive type. You like to read and write, and are very cautious when it comes to anything you know nothing about. Looking down at your desk, you see a name plaque that Camron had smelted for you. It says….

skim more notes.
You shuffle through some of the other papers.
Today, a mysterious man came into the village. He said he was an archeologist and was looking around for some ancient ruins to study. He needed a guide, and I think I may volunteer for the job. I know the area well enough and I do love to adventure after all. My best friend however, doesn't like the look of the man. Thinks he is up to something. I told him that not sneaky man can have a mustache that glorious.

Excitedly check desk
You rush over to your desk and see a few bits of notes strewn around. Next to the etching of your name sits an inkwell and quill. The first note on the desk reads as such.
Next week might finally be the day! The Archeologist and I have been going up the mountains looking for the ruins I mentioned in previous notes, and we found a solid clue to their location today. We're going up Mt. Plimidon itself next week, to look for them. My friend doesn't seem to excited about it, but he's been against the Archaeologist ever since he came into town looking for the ruins.

Examine excitedness.
The bar is way in the green - it may have something to do with today's plans. They might be written down over by your desk.

Note
Inspect inventory system.
You open up your inventory to see a large grid, 5 wide and 10 tall. 4 of the blocks are filled by The Slicer. Below the grid sits a few status indicators for things such as Gold (you have none), and a drop icon. There is also a paperdoll of of you on the side, with slots for equipment, along with status bars for your conditions, which change titles based on what you're feeling. Right now, everything is normal, but your "excitedness" is off the charts.
