This is definitely my DH and me.
I was in bed and my boyfriend paused in the hallway outside the bedroom door and lingered a moment and I said sleepily "I can't see whatever expression is on your face, because I don't have my glasses on" and he said "sorry, whatever you just said I didn't hear it. I don't have my hearing aids in." laurel and hardy ass domestic partnership

i think one of the things i love most about murderbot is that the narrative makes clear that it's okay not to be okay when something not okay happens. our society is so focused on resilience and grit and finding the good in things and "moving on" that i feel like it's almost unacceptable to have a normal emotional reaction after something bad happens

Pete Buttigieg is a next-level public speaker.
A third-trimester abortion has to be the most devastating moment in a person's life.
Too many opponents of abortion will never process these situations. They will put themselves in someone else's shoes.

#I am the family speed demon #yes I speed in a minivan #this is so true of Texans
you may think the most egregious sin you can commit in tx is being queer but actually it's going under the speed limit

I think what bothers me about all those Batman and Robin takes really is just how much they refuse to engage with the genre. Like imagine if I said lord of the rings was bad because it forces an untrained civilian to engage in military actions - everyone would understand how absurd that take was! By refusing to acknowledge that comics are a form of fantasy specifically made to give readers, especially children, a sense of power and agency they don't have in their real lives, you are refusing to understand or engage with the genre.

Jason: MAKE ROOM PEOPLE!
Bruce: What are you doing? Why are you wearing a safety vest?
Jason: I'm the Bat-OSHA inspector
Bruce: Did Duke put you up to this?
Jason: No, I volunteered. Now if you could step aside sir, I'm trying to do my job
Bruce: I'm not going to be able to stop you, am I?
Jason: Nope. Now let's see, you've got literal bats flying around. Stalagmites and stalactites everywhere, that's a tripping hazard. Nowhere near enough handrails. No marked emergency exists. With all this moisture in the air, this place is basically a brothel for mold. I'm not sure what the proper enclosures for a cow and turkey are, but I know a cave ain't it. And it's that a child working in a box I see?
Bruce: Tim is in the "anti-villian enrichment enclosure" that you made for him!
Tim: Hi Jason!
Jason: Hi Tiny!- I hope you know keeping children in boxes is something not tolerated by Bat-OSHA.
Bruce: You put him in there not 30 minutes ago!
Jason: Always an excuse for everything.
