i havent shaved my legs in a really long time and while i was babysitting my skirt edged up a bit and the seven year old i was watching said “ew you should shave that hairs not supposed to be there” and i said “well if its not supposed to be there then why does it grow there?” and he was really silent for a long time and then finally said “lets watch sonic the hedgehog”

retail micromanagement destroys peoples brains istg i can always tell when someone came from retail bcs they legit have learned helplessness wrt managing their own time at work. i mean i was the same way when i left retail its brutal but its fixable.
#i swear im not like. bootlicking or anything#but my retail job actually isnt that bad#my day is 30%-90% spent in the back room depending on where i'm like. stationed for the day#so i dont have to really like. experience work the way some of my coworkers do#im not saying my store is infallible or anything. theyre a corporation that cares more about money than its employees#However when i'm running the back room i get to sit eat and drink as much as i please basically#i do have to have someone cover me so i can run to the restroom & with my department its. not exactly common for people to get more than#1 break a shift due to our workload. but! we're allowed to go out and buy food & bring it back & share it with everyone#we have free water given to us & we can honestly just hide for a few if we dont want to deal with customers if we want#unless its busy then we can do none of that#again i consider myself lucky!! i have a pretty decent place to work for! yes the workload is waaaayyyyy too fucking much but that's just#the nature of working curbside grocery pickup! it's lowkey the most stressful department to work in aside from service & our only saving#grace Is our access to the back room & being able to let that mask drop completely#would i recommend working in a pickup department tho? absolutely fucking not. not unless you love high-stress environments and unmanageable#expectations put on you by your higherups + customers

seeing straight men be disgusted by booktok smut recommenders has actually radicalized me to the side of booktok smut recommenders. girls your taste may be atrocious but i will never disparage you for exposing mainstream discourse to the concept of soaking through your underwear. spent my whole life listening to men talk about penises it’s about time they get jumpscared by women talking about pussy in crude detail on social media. go forth and goon my warriors

god i never told you guys but a couple weeks ago at work i heard a guy say, and i closely paraphrase, "So I was out with my partner--republicans hate it when i say that. My heterosexual partner Jessica--" and i was straight up crying before he finished his sentence. fully diegetic convergent linguistic evolution live in the workplace

it's kinda comforting to me when my friends are a little annoying or longwinded or abrasive or tired and inarticulate, or they don't do the exact politest thing in every interaction, and stuff, because I know I'm sometimes annoying, or take up a more than my share of conversational space, or forget to ask them questions, etc etc, and... like, I'm always working to be nice to my friends and to get better and better at friend-ing, but it just makes me feel more human about it :}
anyway I love you friends plz know I'm not counting, in fact I feel great affection toward you even (especially) when conversations go less than Perfectly Ideal
