Flame2Ashes' sideblog for their various BioWare OCs and some other non-BioWare OCs. The Worst Squad in Thedas is for Dragon Age, and Space Shenanigans in Space is for Mass Effect. Mostly just a thoughts dump about my characters.

I know I already made the Rook and Shepard comparison on main but also like. I really do think Yaryna would relate to my Shepards the most
I like to think she'd walk into the BioWare character convention and both the First Playthrough and the Mage Playthrough groups would be gesturing for her to join them but then she'd look over to John and Jane and go towards them instead. Woman in her late 40s goes "How do you do fellow kids" as she joins up with two 32 year olds

It's interesting because at the end of the day, John is still an introvert who likes staying in and Jane is still an extrovert who loves going to parties. It's just that John is a lot more comfortable spending time with a few close friends, while Jane enjoys the energy of a great party. They show their true selves to each other because they showed each other that they're willing to listen without any judgment, which means they can relax and express emotions that they feel they can't express out in public
John and Jane being the "Fake Grumpy/Fake Sunshine" dynamic but everyone thinks they're legit. Even John and Jane think they're legit until they're alone and it's like. Oh right. We're doing that because we have insecurities that we pushed down so deep we forgot they were there until they forcibly came back up
#space shenanigans in space#Sometimes I wonder if I'm just saying the same things over and over#But you see. I have the OC brainrot and this blog is just where I dump my thoughts anyway#Ironically though. I don't think John is actually grumpy? Just apathetic#He's just frowning. But people would read that as being grumpy I think#Especially when Jane is there being all :D hey John isn't this great?#And John's just like. :| It's fine I guess.

If Elissa, Marian, and Yaryna are all Filipino, what does that make Kaaras? Also Filipino? Or an honorary pinoy?
I'll admit that I didn't really think of him as being Filipino when I made him (though with the way they portray the Vashoth in this series I think he is just like me fr fr. Tho more in the sense of him being a first/second-gen immigrant), but I'm just really amused by him surrounded by human women who are all of the same ethnicity. The perk is that he gets to sit in on all the chismis (which would mostly be supplied by Marian. She's not really a marites, admittedly. But she has potential)

This but with John and Jane
I need John and Jane to do that one Game Grumps short where Arin holds up a piece of mistletoe above his and Dan's head
And Dan's like "Arin, is that mistletoe?"
And Arin throws the mistletoe aside before clapping his and Dan's hand and says "No. It's mistlebro". That's "John and Jane with one brain cell" core
#IT'S SO STUPID BUT THAT'S WHY I WANT TO SEE IT JFDKLASJKLF#Man I wish I could draw#space shenanigans in space

Someone runs in thinking there's a crisis and John is laying there smiling with his eyes closed because he hasn't felt this relaxed in years
They'll try to make John go to a spa and next thing you know he's screaming like he's being tortured because he's having a back massage

tbf if this actually happened Marian wouldn't really be there by invitation or anything. She heard about Varric and was like "Kaaras pls give me the location so I can check it out myself btw can I also be allowed to use your Eluvians" and by the time she got there this shit was happening. She didn't really have much of a stake in the actual conflict, but she saw Kaaras and his friend beating up a guy and was like "Can I join too 🥺👉👈"
I can't draw but I can still use a photo image editor. Anyway
#The Worst Squad in Thedas#Then again Marian technically also has a stake in it for being the one to find the lyrium idol and free Corypheus#Because if it weren't for that Solas wouldn't have thought to give the orb to Corypheus to do his plans#Which means Kaaras wouldn't have shown up to disrupt his ritual#And in turn Yaryna wouldn't have shown up to disrupt Solas' ritual#Anyway. At the end Marian was like “So who was that guy you were beating up?”#And Kaaras is like “That was Solas. You know. The Dread Wolf? Elven god of mischief?”#Marian: Ohhhhh that's the guy Merrill was talking about. The one who had to chew his own tail off to escape a mabari#Yaryna: omg. Okay that's the funniest thing I heard about Solas throughout this entire thing

#Man the Inquisitor is so lucky they get to meet two (2) of the other protagonists in their life time#Anyway Elissa is chilling on a beach somewhere ignoring anything related to the Wardens. The ideal ending for her tbh#The Worst Squad in Thedas

btw that scene proves that aliens exist within their universe, and did that way before they had the mounted Krogan heads in the Winter Palace, which means that once again the TWSIT AU is Canon and True
Thinking about Starfang, the sword my Warden used made from a metal I collected from a meteor after watching a one minute cutscene that was basically one whole Superman reference and moved on without any further explanation. Anyway whatever happened to that kid
#What can I say? TWSIT AU gets nothing but Ws#*Said in a way that sounds like I'm smug but just sarcastic enough for you to know I'm joking*#*But also in a very serious way because of how long this AU has been around (8 years)*

Hey guys do you think maybe Elissa didn't want to be a Warden
Davrin: Maybe a Warden who survives an Archdemon is no Warden at all
Elissa: Oh my god you're so right *Goes away and never comes back*

I like to think that this conversation is Yaryna's first in-person meeting with Marian and immediately she's like. This woman is also in her forties huh. What great diverse lives we protagonists live (which is the polite way of saying that Yaryna thinks Marian is kinda weird)
Dragon Age The Veilguard spoilers
Since the Inquisitor was likely told about what happened to Varric before Rook found out the truth, I'm imagining them now being the ones to tell Hawke about it
So Kaaras and Yaryna sit Marian down and are like "Marian....we don't know how else to tell you.... but Varric is dead..."
And Marian’s like. "Oh. How did it happen? Illness? Old age? Did he walk up an incline that was too steep and got a heart attack?"
Yaryna is staring until Kaaras says, "He tried to wrestle a dagger off of Solas and ended up getting stabbed with it."
"Why was he wrestling with Solas?"
"Because he was trying to stop him from doing a ritual."
"He did that? Out of his own volition?"
"Well yeah- What do you mean by his own volition?" Asks Yaryna.
Marian doesn't reply. She starts tearing up. But she's not sad. She's happy.
"He actually acted on his own principles in the end," she whispers.
Yaryna is staring again before Kaaras nudges her. "Don’t worry, she's just like that."
Five minutes later, Marian is back to all smiles and no crying and the rest of the meeting is spent hanging out.
"Hey," she pipes up. "Wouldn't it be funny if the Hero of Ferelden was here too?"
Kaaras raises an eyebrow. "I thought Warden Cousland was looking for a cure to the Blight."
"She doesn't really need to do that anymore," says Yaryna. "The Blight changed after the gods were killed."
"Yeah, but.....hmm."
It was Yaryna's turn to raise an eyebrow. "What is it?"
"What are the chances that wasn't the actual reason why she left?"
They nod silently when they realize what he meant by that.
