TWINS OF LIMA
92 posts
Nestled away in small town America is a place like no other. On the surface it seems like your average town filled with mom and pop shops, beautiful scenery and quirky little festivals for things like wheat and cinnamon. However, if you take a closer look you start to notice one thing this scenic American town has more of than any place else. ————TWINS. mobile navigation

are you going to allow puckerman in this still? considering that the man who plays him is a paedophile? im not slating the character or this rp, i just see that noah puckerman is taken.
Randomly signed back in after some hub=blub to find this question in the inbox which was only sent three days ago.
Fam this rp is inactive and has been since July??…. but regardless the FC was changed to Chnning Tatum and in the rules I believe the FIRST fc listed under the banned section is Mark Salling. So no, he was not allowed, however the Puckerman family was.

would you accept a character that's hard of hearing?
Absolutely! As long as the subject is well researched and treated with respect, we’d love to see such a character.

could you see ruby rose fitting in anywhere?
Ruby Rose is amazing, so absolutely! Ruby could probably fit in a few places, but we see Gilbert, Evans, Abrams, McCarthy, or an OC being the best fit! If you have any other preferences, feel free to run it by us, though.
Is this a bad time to shamelessly promote my character request? It might be. I’m doing it anyway. Anyway, we’d love to see Ruby in any capacity!

NEW TAG TO TRACK!
Hi, lovelies! We have gone ahead and added a new tag to the tracked tags list. This is twinsol[character], for example, twinsoldinora. You should use people’s character tags when making posts specifically for them. i.e. if you were to post a text message for a certain character, you would use their character tag so they’d see it, rather than it getting lost on what we hope will be an active dash.

WHERE THEY’VE BEEN
( trigger warning: DEATH, DEATH VIA KIA, MILITARY DEATH )
going into the military. After graduation high school, Puck didn’t know what he wanted to do exactly, but he did know he didn’t want to end up being his father, another Lima Loser. So instead of bumming around town for the rest of his life, he opted to do something worthwhile with his life, and for Puck that meant the military. So, right out of high school he enlisted in the Marines and before he knew it he was in North Carolina for basic training and then he was being stationed and deployed and his career as a soldier began.
the birth of his daughter Daphne “LEIGH” Ophelia Puckerman, not long after being stationed in Texas, he meant Brooke and he fell hard and he fell fast. Within a year the two were engaged and pregnant and after 16 hours of labor on Valentine’s Day, no less, in 2011 his daughter, a healthy beautiful 6 pounds 10 ounces, was born and Puck could feel himself becoming the kind of man he’d always hoped he be. Daphne Ophelia Puckerman, or Leigh along with Brook became his entire world. Unfortunately this fairy tale of his didn’t have the happiest of endings.
the death of his fiancee Brooke Howard, everything with Brooke happened so fast, I mean they were already building their family and they hadn’t even walked down the isle yet. Even though they both worked a high risk job, they never took the time to really dwell on what would happen if the worst case scenario happened. It was only six months after having Leigh that Brooke was set for a twenty week deployment and after eighteen weeks, Puck got a call. The kind of call you never want to get. Brooke was KIA, but it wasn’t until he was holding their baby in his arms while she cried, three months after her funeral that he truly accepted she wasn’t coming home.
him going to college, for the five years after Brooke’s death Puck just tried to push through, for Leigh’s sake, but he struggled to talk about Brooke with Leigh and when she got old enough to ask questions he didn’t know how to answer them without getting deeply depressed. He wasn’t moving forward, he wasn’t moving backward, he just wasn’t moving at all. Then a year and a half ago, exactly five years after she passed, he got a box. It was filled with homemade DVD’s of them as a family, she’d always been the one to document everything. There were CD’s of recorded songs they’d sung together and some just of her, she’d had the voice of an angel. Most importantly were the letters. There were probably about 100 of them and he’d read them all. All the things she’d never said, her vows, how much she loved him, and everything she wanted him to do if she wasn’t there anymore. College was on that list, even in death she inspired and encouraged him to always keep moving forward. To keep achieving and succeeding and most importantly to find joy in life again. Not just for his sake, but for the sake of his family, his daughter, and Brooke’s memory.
WHERE THEY’RE GOING
PLOTTING
have a breakdown, over the past few years, Puck hasn’t allowed himself to mourn, hasn’t let himself get angry, hasn’t let himself express his frustration and irritation. instead he opted to just push on, but bottling up your feelings isn’t healthy and after six years, Puck is getting closer and closer to his breaking point. allowing himself to have an impromptu breakdown with aid in him moving forward and finally pushing through to the next chapter of his life
mending a broken relationship, specifically with his father. they’ve never much gotten along and every time they interact Puck blackouts in rage and they generally end up in a physical altercation. while the prospect of letting himself feel anything other than hatred for his father scares him, he doesn’t want to harbor that kind of resentment, because he doesn’t want to risk bring that home to Leigh.
finding peace in music again, there was a time when music was such a sorce of comfort for Puck, in high school, in combat, when Brooke was away, but after she died he stopped playing guitar and he stopped singing but open mic nights just seem so much more tempting these days and he misses the calm that would wash over him when he immersed himself in music.
CONNECTIONS
childhood friend, this would be a very important person in Puck’s life, someone he regards as family. this person would have known him in high school and even before that. they would have known Brooke and is likely one of the only people Puck would trust to leave alone with Leigh, they were there for him through his loss and have continued to be there for him over that past six years.
consistent tutor, Puck has ever been all that good at learning in a classroom environment, he always did better in one on one sessions with tutors, and since being back in college tutors have really helped him achieve the kind of grades he never thought he was capable of. they play an important part in Puck reaching his goals and they’d likely be friends as well, at least on some level. would definitely love to see this particular connection grow beyond the library!
the rebound, this person had the misfortune of being the first person that Puck dated after Brooke. at a time when he really wasn’t ready for a relationship in any way shape or form, and when this person wanted to get more serious, maybe even started talking about their future, Puck pushed them away and they’ve not really talked since. this would have to be in the last year since that’s how long he’s been in Lima.
THEIR GOALS
graduating college, with honors if he can, Puck has never been all the great with academics but he’s determined to succeed, not just for himself but for Leigh, and for his family. At his core he’s a provider and a protector and getting his degree will help him do both of those things to the best of his ability.
being a good father, not just keeping Leigh alive, but showing her how to live, being good example and positive role model in her life, being able to give her the kind of father he never had.
piecing his life back together, learning to live again, learning to trust, learning to open himself up and forge lasting bond. to stop just operating and to really live.

WHERE THEY’VE BEEN
#DANCEISLIFE. It’s an ongoing joke in the Lopez household that Alexa did not come out of her mother the normal way; she danced out. In actuality, though, although dance is her life now, Alexa was three before she was introduced to and immersed on the world of pirouettes and arabesque. A happy baby, one who smiled the most and laughed the loudest, she was a little handful right from the start. Her parents adored her and, in return, she adored them just as much, but she was a lot for any two people to handle, especially when she wasn’t their only child to worry about. That was where Abuela came in. Alma Lopez, their paternal grandmother, would take each of the girls on separate afternoons a couple times per week to give their parents a break, and it was her who decided to do something about Alexa’s energy levels. She looked into dance classes in the area, finding a highly rated ballet school, and enrolled her mischievous granddaughter. From the moment her pink ballet pump touched the hardwood floor of that dance studio, Alexa was hooked.
PRESSURE & ITS IMPACT. [eating disorder tw] As she grew older, surpassing the skills of the older students, Alexa begun to branch out in her dancing. Abuela had enrolled her in Tap, Modern, Jazz, Street… Anything you can think of, if it was a style of dance, Alexa wanted to do it. And do it well she very much did. In high school, she captained the Dance team, was involved in competition after competition outside of school, and had a bedroom stacked with trophies and first place ribbons lining every shelf and wall. Alexa was a pretty big name among the dance community. By no means was she famous to the everyday public, but if you were a dancer yourself, or a talent scout, you knew who Alexa Lopez was. Though she’d never admit it, it was a lot of pressure. Other dancers would be compared to her, and Alexa had big-shots from prestigious schools like Tisch and Juilliard on her back from her early teens. The attention, while she loved it, meant she was constantly quietly second-guessing herself. She wanted to be perfect in every aspect; image included. Alexa had been blessed in the looks department anyway, but was always looking for areas in which to improve. This resulted in her obsessing over her body, to the point where she barely ate, too scared to cause imperfections by putting on any amount of weight. If she did eat, she’d force herself to throw it back up. Alexa has never been treated for this, and it has never passed. She’s a scary amount of skinny, but to her, and to the big-shots in the dance community, she’s perfect.
WORKING A POLE. It came as a shock to absolutely no one when Alexa majored in Dance when college came around. What was a little more shocking was the fact that she turned down offers from Juilliard and Tisch. That wasn’t her dance style, she didn’t want to be referred to as prestigious. Alexa enjoyed dancing, but enjoyed her freedom, too. The thought of someone dampening her creativity by having her be some professional Ballerina just didn’t sit well with her. So, Alexa applied (and was of course accepted) to Arizona State. She liked the idea of being in a hotter climate, and far enough away from Lima that people who were catching onto her eating disorder couldn’t keep their hawk eyes on her. Arizona State was credited as one of the best dance schools in the country, after all, so it was still a good fit for her. It was in Arizona that Alexa first began to work a pole. During a night out in a bar, where Alexa and a friend had taken over the sound system and were dancing to their chosen song, she was spotted by a man who made a beeline for her. He let her know about a new club he was opening, where he was looking for “exotic dancers,” and thought Alexa would be the perfect fit. Alexa went ahead and booked herself an interview, then was soon being welcomed to the team, where she worked the pole right the way through college, under the stripper name of Roxy, and became one of the club’s most highly requested dancers.
SECOND DISCOVERY. Despite being a multiple, Alexa is and always has been a very independent person. She’s not above admitting to having a very close relationship with her family, though. So, as much as she loved Arizona, she had to admit she did miss home. Lima was nothing special, but the people there were, so after Alexa graduated college, then spent two years wrapping things up in Arizona, she hopped on a plane and headed back to Lima. Here, she has stayed for about a year now, but doesn’t plan to stay too much longer. Alexa’s life goals are to dance backup for someone huge, where she plans to go on tours with them and star in their music videos, then when she’s older, she’ll tone it down to choreography. So, LA is her next big step. However, she chose to stay put for a little bit, because she wanted to make up for lost time with her family. Alexa had grown used to a busier lifestyle, though, so her first order of business was to find herself a job working a pole just like she did in Arizona; something she stumbled upon pretty effortlessly. Reviving Roxy brought her to her newest, under the table job, where Alexa is now making bank. A particularly good lap dance led to a private conversation, in which the man let her know of his Escort business, which Alexa was immediately interested in. She has now been working for him on the side for about six months, and while she hasn’t been sleeping with the clients, he’s pushing her to start.
WHERE THEY’RE GOING
PLOTTING
ED CONFRONTATION. Alexa has, so far, been able to avoid too much questioning regarding her eating disorder. It’s obvious that it exists, and just to look at her, you can see that she isn’t healthy. However, she has been able to brush off any questions or accusations. It would be good for someone to actually catch her in the act (making herself vomit, passing out, etc.) and actually confront her about it. She needs help, so for someone to give her that help would be great.
WRONG DIRECTION. It’s likely there are people who still have their eye on Alexa from all over the world as far as her dancing. She’s still a big name in the community, after all. I’d love for her to land a gig that didn’t work out so well for her, and maybe set her back a little bit. A knock to her confidence would be fun to play out. For me, not so much for her.
ISSUES WITH HER BOSS. I have plans to have Alexa’s relationship with her boss go in a direction that it probably shouldn’t go. Even though she’s new to the Escort service, she quickly became a favorite, and he’s more into her than on just a professional level. When Alexa realizes, things won’t be pretty.
CONNECTIONS
SIGNIFICANT OTHER. Alexa is kind of a wildcard, so definitely not the type to settle down. However, I would love to explore a more sensitive side to her, where she actually develops solid feelings for someone outside of just sexual ones. It would be even cooler if they didn’t know about her second job and then found out about it, though. Especially if they didn’t find out through her.
ESCORT CLIENT. It’s an under the table, very hush-hush service, so I’d love for someone to ask for an escort and have Alexa assigned to them. They’d both have to keep things quiet, and maybe their relationship would progress through it. Maybe they’d hate each other and have to keep each other’s secret despite wanting to tell people? Who knows!
CONFIDANTE. Someone who Alexa could actually open up to, and who could break down her walls. She’d have to really trust them, though, because I’d be going for her spilling everything to them. About her disorder, her secret job, her concerns about not making it where she wants to make it, etc. This connection would take a lot of development.
THEIR GOALS
Simply, Alexa wants to leave Lima again and become the backup/music video dancer she has always dreamed of being.

WHAT YOU SEE
full name: Radley “Lee” Jeremy Hummel
face claim: Chris Colfer
age: 24
birthday: May 28th, 1993
birth order: second
hometown: Lima, OH
gender identity: genderqueer
pronouns: he/him/his, they/them/theirs (on occasion)
orientation: thinks he’s ace/aro, is really demi
occupation: fitness instructor (at the rec center)
WHERE THEY’VE BEEN
[TW: Death, dissociation, self harm via athleticism, personality disorder]
LOSING HIS MOTHER AND HIMSELF. Lee has always been one to feel things strongly, more so than most children his age and more so than others thought was permitted. He cried and whimpered long after the stimulant was gone, laughed too hard and too long at a joke that wasn’t even really funny, and would shrink in on himself at voices just the slightest bit too loud or too stern. It had been a prominent part of his personality for as long as he had had a personality and everyone in his life was well used to his influx of emotions. Lee, himself, was used to the ever-present cacophony of emotions, despite rarely ever being able to pinpoint what exact emotion(s) was present at any given time. So used to it, in fact, that it was a shock to realize that all of that noise in his head was suddenly gone. Years later, his therapist would inform him that this lack of emotions was a coping mechanism. See, a child who felt as deeply as he did could never handle the onslaught that would arise in the face of his mother’s death. As such, when even an inkling of those feelings would return in the years following, it would cause him to dissociate almost immediately. He would be living life in a haze, being able to do little more than his daily routine, until he would finally snap out of it and go back to feeling the bare minimum.
FINDING A PASSION. Despite not really caring about much, there were a few things that brought Lee joy when he was capable of feeling it. Those things were music, the kind that forced you to feel it, and sports. Although, maybe ‘sports’ is too broad. He didn’t love all sports and, in fact, found most of them boring and pointless to watch. What he really loved was being active, pushing his body to it’s breaking point and then further. Perhaps it was unhealthy that he craved the sore muscles and shooting pains that came with constantly pushing your body too far, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care. It was a kind of numbing agent. When he was sprinting down the track and using every ounce of his willpower to keep his feet moving, he couldn’t be bothered to think of the constant emptiness he felt or the intensely irrational anger bubbling up in him at the slightest provocation. The same phenomenon happened with swimming, though his favorite time for this activity was at night, when the water was unforgiving in it’s cold and the sloshing felt like glass. It made him feel alive. And when he was too emotionally exhausted to deal with all of this? That’s when he turned to yoga. It was quiet and calm and fit perfectly with the dull white noise that served as background music in his mind.
TREATMENT PLANS. Thankfully, things have gotten better since his therapist worked up a treatment plan for him. He sees her once a week to talk things out and work on coping mechanisms. Along with that form of psychotherapy, he’s seeing two other therapists that specialize in Borderline Personality Disorder. It took two years and various medication trials to get him to where he is now, but things are better. His focus is on being happy and enjoying life, something that is fairly new to him but is a welcome change.
WHERE THEY’RE GOING
PLOTTING
SEXUALITY: In Lee’s 24 years of life, he’s never formed a romantic or sexual connection with anybody. He’s fine with this and has happily labelled himself as ace and aro. In reality, he’s demiromantic and demisexual. At some point, I’d love if he were to actually make a connection with someone and be forced to do a little research into sexuality. He hasn’t had to learn anything new about himself in a while, so it would be fun to see that change.
EDUCATION: Lee went to college straight out of high school and majored in kinesiology. After graduating, he planned to go back the following year to pursue another degree, even going as far as to enroll and schedule an orientation. However, he quickly lost interest and didn’t attend the orientation, dropping out a few weeks after classes started. He’s been ignoring the interest that soon came back, not pursuing it for fear of dropping out again.
CONNECTIONS
TRAINING: Lee teaches multiple classes at the rec center, but will also take someone on as a trainee if they request it. Ideally, this will be someone who admires Lee’s skill and/or passion in either yoga, track, or swim and asks him to train them.
INTIMATE CONNECTION: This person is the catalyst for Lee’s sexuality crisis. They started as friends but, as their connection grows, Lee finds himself experiencing feelings that he’s never felt for someone before.
BEST FRIEND: Preferably someone from high school, this is the person who’s stuck with Lee through lots of thick and a ton of thin. They don’t allow him to be a dick to them and let him know when he needs to go cool off before coming back to apologize. Lee doesn’t understand why they stick around, but he’s forever grateful.
THEIR GOALS
COLLEGE: At some point, Lee genuinely wants to go back to school and earn another degree. He knows there’s always the possibility of losing motivation and/or interest, which is the only thing in his way at this point.
TRANQUILITY: He’s come a long way since the chaotic years of his childhood, but there is still a lot going on in his head. Lee wants to reach a point in his life and mental health in which he is, for once, without worries. Specifically, he wants to have a moment of clarity wherein he stop and realizes that he is okay.
BOSTON MARATHON: Although his original interest in track had been an unhealthy one, it’s since formed into a past time that he genuinely enjoys doing. It’s been a goal for years, but he’s finally starting to think he’s getting to a good point to seriously consider running in the Boston Marathon. He’s been focusing more on training and stamina these past few months, though he hasn’t told anyone what for. He doesn’t want any influences on him, not until he knows for sure that he can do it.

WHAT YOU SEE
full name: Dr. Gretchen Louise St. John (née McMasters)
face claim: Emma Stone
age: 28
birthday: September 3rd
birth order: Original Character
hometown: Lima, OH
gender identity: Cisfemale
pronouns: She/her/hers
orientation: Bisexual, Demiromantic
occupation: Youtube Vlogger/New Media professor
WHERE THEY’VE BEEN
ACCEPTANCE TO DARTMOUTH: Gretchen’s senior year of high school, all of her hard work paid off in the form of an acceptance letter to Dartmouth. Although her parents had always insisted upon their alma mater, Columbia, she’d always been the kind of person who paved her own path. Her relationship with her parents had always been strained, regardless, only made worse when her inability to keep her mouth shut about her father’s affair resulted in their divorce. For the most part, she was unaffected by the event; although she has the ability to empathize and, if only out of obligation, loved her parents, Gretchen’s focus has only ever been on school and her career. It was at Dartmouth where she majored in Film & Media Studies, which then led to her admission to Brown where she completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in Modern Culture and Media. Academia had always been her true love–although charismatic and always involved in extracurriculars, her social life fell victim to her career and schooling.
YOUTUBE CAREER: Becoming a Youtube vlogger had honestly been a mistake, but it has financially sustained her since she was in college. It started as a way to keep in contact with her brother, the two of them always too busy to hold a conversation, but she slowly began to gain popularity. Despite her lacking inability to create lasting relationships with most people, Gretchen has a relaxed demeanor behind the camera as well as a quick witted personality. Her main channel is similar to Philip Defranco–a news source with her own running social commentary–but she also runs a personal vlog on the side. Not only has this full time job given her financial security and the flexibility to cater to her school schedule (and, later, her family schedule) but it’s given her a unique perspective for her thesis.
THE TWO GREAT LOVES–KIND OF: Gretchen has fallen in love only two times in her life. The first, Elijah, had been her high school sweetheart and the first person who really taught her how to get her head out of her ass and give a shit about someone else for once in her life. He took care of her, made sure she ate in the midst of writing papers and took a break for the sake of her mental health. He championed her and she championed him right back. Unfortunately, their ambitions got the better of them, and in the wake of graduation, they decided to break up before the distance made things ugly. It wasn’t until she began attending Brown that she met Daniel, the brother of a classmate. Gretchen never did feel that all-encompassing love that she did for Elijah, but he was funny and had a good job and was the second person in her life that made her take breaks for herself, so when he proposed to her, she said yes. About six months into their marriage, Gretchen returned to Lima for her five year high school reunion–which, frankly, she never would have gone to had she not seen that Elijah would also be in attendance. And, although she’s always fancied herself faithful, a combination of Elijah’s charm and a lot of wine resulted in the two of them sleeping together. Two months later, when she found out she was pregnant, Gretchen wasn’t entirely sure if Penelope (or “Penny”) was Elijah’s or Daniel’s. Although she’s not proud of it, she’s operated under the assumption that Penny belonged to Daniel–and, as he was the one who raised her, Gretchen doesn’t really think it matters.
THE SEPARATION: Gretchen has recently moved back to Lima (and in with her brother) in the wake of her and Daniel’s separation. Even without him knowing about her night with Elijah, their mutual focus on their careers finally broke them, as neither of them were willing to make sacrifices. Eventually, the fighting got to be too much. Although Gretchen has always been fiercely independent, she chose to make the temporary relocation to Lima as she adjusts to being a single mother. For someone who’s never really had to care about anyone but herself, Gretchen has found it difficult to really be the parent that Penny needs (she loves her, she’s just…naturally inattentive). She’s teaching a few courses at the Lima branch of OSU as well as a couple of online classes for the University of Pittsburgh while she gets her shit together.
WHERE THEY’RE GOING
PLOTTING
settling into motherhood. Gretchen has never really had to give a fuck about anyone but herself before, save for the two relationships that she’s been in. Although Penny is now four, she’s always had Daniel doing the grunt of the work. Now that she’s on her own, potential divorce pending, she’s being forced to step up to the plate. I’d like for her to learn how to get her head out of her own ass.
endure a scandal with her channel. Gretchen has always been very good about staying out of drama that so many other Youtubers seem to find themselves in. I’d love for her to get into some kind of trouble, either with the business itself or with her fans, because that would force her to deal with a crisis. Perhaps this is also what prompts her to end her Youtube career in favor of spending more time with her family.
finding genuine love. While Gretchen loved Daniel, she hasn’t been in love with anyone since Elijah. I’d love to explore what she’s like in a genuine relationship now, not one clouded with secrecy and selfishness (from both parties), especially someone who’s willing to step up to the plate and give her that familial stability that she needs.
CONNECTIONS
the cliche ‘student/teacher’ fling. Nothing serious, but seeing as though Gretchen has never really done any sort of casual relationship, I think it’d be fun for her to have a short rebound with one of her students. Bonus points if it’s a female, as she’s never before had the opportunity to explore her sexuality.
a fellow parent. Seeing someone who’s actually good at the whole ‘parenting’ business will help motivate her to put more focus on her family. This person should be willing to support her and be a ‘tough love’ kind of voice to try and get her ass into gear.
her brother. This is pretty much the only stable person she’s had throughout her entire life. He’s one of the few people who knows how to get through to her and how to handle her when she’s stressed out. He’s currently her saving grace in regards to Penny.
an old friend. This person was Gretchen’s friend in high school and they probably lost touch, maybe even had a falling out as a result of Gretchen’s inattentiveness. I’d love to explore the dynamic of two old friends trying to reconnect after a decade of distance.
THEIR GOALS
Gretchen is attempting to pioneer a New Media program at Harvard or Yale, trying to get enough research done and pieces published to help boost her reputation. She’d like to see the discipline being taken more seriously, and adding the major to the curriculum of these Ivy League institutions would be a big step both for the medium and for her career.
Become the mother that Penny truly needs. Gretchen is determined to give her a good life with the emotional support that she never really had growing up.

WHAT YOU SEE
full name: Elliot Jude “Starchild” Gilbert
face claim: Adam Lambert
age: 26
birthday: November 11th, 1991
birth order: First
hometown: Paramus, NJ (The Land of Malls)
gender identity: Male
pronouns: He/Him/His
orientation: Homosexual, homoromantic
occupation: Barista-slash-yoga instructor-slash singer
WHERE THEY’VE BEEN
[tw for death, drug abuse, and an abusive relationship]
On the Hudson River Line: Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert grew up in the town of Paramus, NJ. Really, the only thing Paramus is known for is the strip malls that run through town. It was almost the most boring place in the world, but luckily for one Elliott Gilbert, it was a quick hop skip and a jump to New York City. Growing up so close to the epicenter of the universe might have made someone else a little jaded, but Elliott could feel the magic of the city in his bones from the second he stepped onto a train into Penn Station. One of the most iconic moments of his life was the time that he first saw a band play in a live music venue. There was so much energy– from the crowd, the performers, and the music itself. Elliott knew that it was something he wanted to be a part of and simply wouldn’t take no for an answer. He begged his mother for singing lessons, which she immediately obliged him, and that took Elliott right through his teenage years.
Finding his voice. When Elliott was fifteen, his father, a police office in Paramus, was killed on the job in a very tragic accident. Elliott really didn’t know how to process it, and for a period of a few months, thought of himself as someone with a lost voice. Every time he tried to open his mouth to sing, nothing came out. Instead, he focused on putting his thoughts on paper and thus, Elliott’s love of songwriting was born. He uses it as a diary more than anything else– while he struggles with writing “hits” like the superstar music idols that he admires so much, he finds it easier to write emotional ballads than anything else.
Concrete jungle where dreams are made. Probably the best day of his life was the day that he was accepted into NYU’s program for music business, with a minor in composition. Finally, Elliott was going to live out his dream of being a professional singer, and there was nothing that was going to stop him from that. Elliott threw himself into New York City, but a little too much. He found himself suddenly too busy for his family back home, and things got even worse for him when he met Gabriel. They spent several happy months together before Gabe started to drag Elliott down into a black hole of toxicity with him. Soon, Elliott’s entire world in New York became Gabe and his drama. He didn’t realize until another year into the situation that Gabe had been actively cheating on him for the entire time that they were together. Determined to make a fresh start, they both decided to pick up and move somewhere brand-new.
Back to black. Enter Lima, where Elliott felt at home in because of his status as a twin. Gabe, too, had a twin, which made them two peas in a pod in the tiny town, and for a while, things were okay. Elliott isn’t sure what happened in the meanwhile, but he woke up one day to find Gabriel completely gone. Despite his attempts to contact his ex, it’s been made clear to Elliott that Gabe no longer wants anything to do with him. Even though Elliott is still somewhat devastated after Gabriel’s departure, he’s still determined to make the most out of his lease and enjoy his time in Lima.
WHERE THEY’RE GOING
PLOTTING
FRIENDS PLS: Jam buddies, band mates, people who love going to see live music or a sounding board for his songwriting, Elliott definitely needs people he can vibe with. He’s also very much into his own fashion and style so shopping buddies will be a go. In short, Elliott really needs people who can get him out of his own head and show him a good time. I’d love to build a supportive network of people for him to be around now that he’s sticking around Lima.
REBOUND: Elliott’s just come off of a rough breakup, so he’s definitely not looking for anything serious right now. However, that’s not to say that he won’t let himself have a little bit of fun with the right person, should that person decide to come along.
SIBLING/FAMILY: Okay, sibling plots are my favorite. Should anyone be inclined to bring Elliott a twin, I would love to explore that dynamic and their relationship!
CONNECTIONS
Musical Soulmate: These two vibe, okay? They jam. From the moment they met they knew that they were connected somehow, but it only took until there was a guitar in Elliott’s hands and their voices chiming in harmony for them to realize that these two were meant to play together. Right now, the two of them are working on their solo acts but soon, my pretties, soon they will form an indie band and the world will all be in sync.
The #Bestie: This is a person whom Elliott has met since he arrived in Lima. This person has seen through all of the ins, outs, ups, and downs of Elliott’s former relationship and has seriously taken Elliott’s phone seven hundred times when they go out so he doesn’t drunk text or call someone he shouldn’t. These two are every kind of goals imaginable and considering Elliott is a new transplant to Lima, hit it off really fast.
The Reason to Stay: There’s a lot of room for this connection, but I definitely want to give Elliott a reason to stay in Lima. This could be to support his twin, a new business or music venture that he loves, or even someone who gives him the hope that a guy might not screw him over. No matter what, this person will be very important to Elliott and play a huge part in his growth at Lima!
THEIR GOALS
Write New Music: After what Elliott’s been through, he definitely has at least three albums worth of songs that are still swimming up in his head. In New York, he found that there was too much noise– so much, in fact, that he couldn’t hear himself think. For now, he’s pulling an Abbey Road and writing in seclusion so that when the time comes, he’s ready to record. A problem that Elliott has recently been finding is the fact that he doesn’t quite know how to put his feelings on paper, so that’s definitely something he’s trying to work on in light of what’s happened.
Mend Relationship with Mom: One of the hardest things that Elliott’s ever done was leave his home for the big city, and it’s pretty safe to say that his relationship with his mother has not been the same ever since then. Even though she’s the person who first taught him how to design his own costumes and find his identity through fashion. While they may not be close anymore, Elliott still desires to have a good relationship with his mother. Whether that involves him reaching out to her to make the first step, or something else, he’s determined to improve his status with his family.
Love His Life: Elliott hasn’t exactly had the easiest couple of years, and it’s been rough for him to transition back into the single life. However, his biggest focus is to work on himself and learn how to be Elliott, Starchild, or something in between. No matter where he is or what he’s doing, he wants to be happy, and that’s the most important thing.

WHERE THEY’VE BEEN
Tw: Heart Condition, Fainting, Clinical Depression & Anxiety
SYNCOPE: Growing up, you would have never thought Caleb was more than Ohio’s average little boy; he was always so energetic, so friendly and polite, he loved to play soccer with his friends, in middle school he was the captain of the track team, and he was always jumping around without a care in the world. He was just like any other little boy, both of his parents were quite wealthy; his mother coached the Mckinley High Cheerios, and they usually returned from competitions with first place, and as for his father, he worked at the biggest hospital in Princeton, New Jersey, he was the most qualified doctor in the building and it was safe to say that with his titles of being the Head of Diagnostic Medicine, Residency in Pathology, Nephrology, Infectious Disease Specialist and being an Intensivist, he had more than your regular GP qualifications. Sure, both of his parents weren’t the friendliest people in the world, but they knew how to raise and love a child, so who could complain? But things with Caleb slowly started to deteriorate when he was in Seventh Grade, his mood went from being this happy and energetic little boy to a little boy who threw temper tantrums, suddenly wouldn’t eat his meals, and was starting to become easily agitated and just wanted to sleep. Like any parent would, they first just put it down to him being near the age of puberty, they thought it would pass by the summer that year, little did they know, though, while their wishes came true, as soon as Caleb went into Eight Grade, everything went downhill. His mother was seven months pregnant at the time, she had only recently broken the news to her son that his little sister would be born with Down Syndrome, and that was fine, the problems started when his grandmother came to visit, Caleb was simply just in one of those moods, but everyone paid no attention to him, except, of course, his medical expert of a father, Caleb was turning a pale bluish colour, he looked exhausted in a matter of minutes after having just gone up and back down the stairs. If his father hadn’t needed the aid of his cane to walk, he would’ve rushed to his son, but sadly, by the time he had managed to get to him as quickly as he could and had drawn attention, Caleb was blacked out on the ground, involuntarily gasping for air as his pulse raced and his heart fluttered in an unusual way. He was rushed to the hospital, both his parents by his side when he woke up from having a variety of tests done, all of them coming back to the same shocking conclusion; Caleb had been diagnosed with a complex form of a Transposition of The Great Arteries in his heart, there were only a handful of people that had the same complexity of the condition like Caleb did, but unfortunately, Caleb would also suffer from a more severe symptom of the condition; Syncope, also known as fainting that was caused by the complication of his arteries flowing the blood through his body in the wrong direction; the blood that was supposed to go to his heart, went to his brain, and vice versa, meaning that there was a lack of oxygen going to his brain, which, is the most common cause of people collapsing. He would have to create a completely new routine for himself, and the life he had once known, would probably never exist again.
MOVING: As anyone could imagine, the diagnosis of his heart condition was a stressful time for everyone in his family, it meant changing everything they once knew to ensure it would be alright for him. But because of the stress and pressure it put on Caleb’s parents, they came to the difficult decision that maybe it would be best if he went to live in New Jersey with his father; the man was more qualified than any normal GP, he specialised in some of the most complex cases, and with his mother still being pregnant at the time, the last thing she needed was more stress. It was a difficult decision that had to be made, and Caleb could understand that, but it didn’t make the transition from Ohio with his mother to New Jersey with his father any easier. Caleb had always believed that his father was busy and stressed all the time from work, it made him think that his father would have practically no time to be with him, but he was wrong. His father spent so much time making sure that he was safe and happy; they spent all of their free time together and amazingly, Caleb never once felt like he needed to try to be perfect around his father, he was comfortable and could just himself, and while at first, the move was hard, Caleb honestly never wanted to look back. Moving to New Jersey had been the best thing for both himself and both his parents.
CHANGES: The first year of Caleb’s diagnosis of his heart condition was definitely one of the most difficult years of his life; he had to go through a countless amount of hours in the hospital getting a variety of different tests and procedures done; being poked and prodded by different types of doctors and medical students. It was something Caleb hated the most about his condition, he just wanted to back to the time where he could be somewhat normal again, back to the life he had where people didn’t stare at him for having this new bluish tinge to his lips, fingertips and toes, he wanted to go back to the life where he could still be on the track team, where he could still run around with his friends playing sports. The life of being pale, being picked at like a little test subject and seeming sickly all the time wasn’t what he had ever imagined in his life, but this was the reality, this was his new life, and whether he liked it or not, there was no easy way out. His condition was too complex for surgery to be done, so the only thing that could really be done was his cardiac specialist putting him on medication to relieve some of the pressure from his lungs so his breathing would be somewhat easier again. But this was a life sentence that he didn’t know what he had done to deserve it; he could never get piercings, he could never get tattoos, he would never be like every other teen that went out and got wasted, he would always be on medication and would have to be careful with absolutely everything. He would have none of those experiences and he hated it, but at the same time, he was still only a kid and he didn’t understand completely, so all he could hope was that one day he would understand and accept himself even just a little bit better than he did now
FIRST INSTRUMENT: After everything Caleb had been through the year of his fifteenth birthday, his parents knew that they needed to somehow do something to try and cheer their son up; at first, his parents thought that the arrival of his little sister Robin would somehow lift his spirits, and it did, but only for a very short amount of time. Deep down, they knew it was only a matter of time until their precious little boy would be diagnosed with Depression and he was, by Christmas that year, he had been diagnosed with Clinical Depression and Anxiety, he didn’t even want to celebrate Christmas that year, he just wanted to stay in his room curled up in his bed ignoring the world. His father even had to watch him taking his medication to ensure he didn’t attempt to overdose, things were bad and nobody wanted it to get any worse, so, his parents decided to get deep into their savings to give their son one of the best Christmases of his life. On Christmas Morning, Caleb was greeted with more than a handful of presents, but out of everything he had received that year, the one thing that stuck out to him the most was his black Yamaha P Series P35B 88-Key Digital Piano, it was the one thing he had always stopped to look at when he went to the local Music Store with his father, but he was always too scared to mention how much he would like one. In his mind, why would he ever mention it? He didn’t play the piano, he had never shown a key interest in music, so Caleb always believed that if he brought it up, he would be pestered to prove how dedicated he would be and that would just put him off completely. Now it was here, and God, he was so happy, as soon as Christmas Breakfast was finished, he pleaded with his parents to help him set it up in his bedroom. All he wanted to do was to play it, and he did, not once did he ever go to a piano lesson. He thought himself how to play and by the time he was seventeen, he could play like he was a professional. It was the one skill he knew made his parents proud, but what he never shared with them was once he had mastered the piano, he had also taken up the interest of writing his own songs. Of course, he still suffered from his depression and Anxiety, but with the piano there to occupy him, his anti-depressants doses were gradually lessened. It was safe to say that the piano he had received for Christmas that year was what saved his life. Somehow, it got him out of that dark place better than any medication could have done.
BACK TO OHIO: As soon as Caleb had graduated from High School, his mother and little sister had asked him if he would come back to Ohio, and deep down, he didn’t want to go. He loved living with his father and while yes, he missed his little sister and mother, he had built a life for himself in New Jersey, he had made friends and he didn’t want to leave, and everyone could tell, so his father decided to make some sort of compromise;  his father made the decision to transfer over to Lima General Hospital to work, they needed a doctor as qualified as his father was, so he was welcomed with opened arms, plus, with the amount of money he made from his job, he was also able to buy a big house in Westerville for the two of them to live. Caleb felt horrible that his father had to pack up and leave, but the older man had assured him that he was ready for a change, so this was the path they were now going to go down. By the new school year after the summer in 2016, Caleb and his father were happily settled in Ohio once again, but this time, the four of them weren’t just celebrating a house warming; Caleb had also been accepted into a college just outside of the city to pursue his dream of studying Performing Arts. Everything was finally looking up in the world and Caleb couldn’t have been happier.
WHERE THEY’RE GOING
PLOTTING
FALLING IN LOVE: Caleb is such a quirky and shy character, so digging into this type of plot would be extremely fun, he has absolutely no idea what it feels like to be in love, deep down, he thinks it’s just a fairy tale. I really think this would be incredible to explore with him! It would be amazing to see him go from not believing in love to transitioning to the belief that love is possible once it’s with the right person.
OPENING UP: He definitely isn’t ashamed about his heart condition, but at the same time, he’s never been close enough with a friend to actually be able to really open up and talk about his own concerns. Of course, he could go to his father considering he’s a doctor, but at the same time, Caleb just wants someone his own age to be able to talk to, they probably wouldn’t understand it, but I could definitely see it being something of a challenge for Caleb to do, he’s such a guarded person, so it would be lovely to have a plot with him connecting with someone enough that he could just vent and not worry about it being said back to people.
HOSPITAL PROCEDURES: Caleb has never had to have surgery on his heart before, but with him being older, he would have to once again go through the process of multiple procedures to check on his condition. I think it would be interesting to see him in that type of environment with no guard up, plus, I think it would be pretty hilarious seeing him in the aftermath of an anaesthetic. Hospital appointments are a regular part of Caleb’ life, but no one other than his family have seen him in those situations. I think it would be great to get to plot it all out, from the leading up to it, to the recovering, I think it would add that extra human quality to Caleb.
CONNECTIONS
CHILDHOOD FRIEND: Although Caleb has moved around, I would like to imagine that through it all he’s had that person there to stand by his side through everything he’s been through; someone who will keep it totally real with him. This is the one person that can argue with Caleb and he wouldn’t worry about losing them forever. They’re also the only person that has ever heard the songs that Caleb has written.
MENTOR: This is someone that Caleb really looks up to when it comes to his music, he personally believes that they know everything there is to know about the music industry; Caleb definitely looks up to this person on their journey with music and he hopes one they he can be even a little bit as successful as they are.
FIRST LOVE: Caleb has never been in love before, so I would love for Caleb to have that romantic connection with someone. This connection would probably be the person to see Caleb at his highest and lowest points, someone that can make him feel loved even when he’s feeling worthless. They know how to make Caleb feel better, even if it’s a simple hug or a peck on the cheek, Caleb is usually happiest with this person.
THEIR GOALS
At the moment, all Caleb really wants is to pass his exams and continue to go further with his Performing and Media Arts, but he also wants to make friends and really make Ohio feel like home in the same way New Jersey did. He knows it will take a while for that feeling to settle, but he would much prefer it if it came sooner rather than later.

WHAT YOU SEE
full name: Benjamin “BEN” Aiden Fabray.
face claim: Liam Hemsworth.
age: (twenty-six) 26.
birthday: November 5th, 1990.
birth order: Second.
hometown: Lima, Ohio.
gender identity: Male.
pronouns: He/him/his
orientation: Heteroromantic/Heterosexual.
occupation: Bartender.
WHERE THEY’VE BEEN
TW: Weed, Smoking.
HOW HE WAS RAISED: Pretentious, manipulative, and arrogant. Benjamin was raised by what was looked at as the picture perfect family. His mother was a stay at home mom while his father worked at a Too Big to Failcompany. His father did very well and compensated by not being there often by giving his children a lot of presents. The thing is, Benjamin wasn’t always a loner. Ben had always been asked to strive for perfection and boy did he love to achieve it. He loved the thrill of seeing people attentive and nervous while he spoke. His idea of normal was going out of his way to make someone’s life miserable because he enjoyed it. Those who knew him, knew better than to even acknowledge his presence in fear of getting barked at by Ben. He wasn’t the type of person you wanted to have as a friend, and therefore had to basically bribe others to be his friends. He was the person who knew everyone’s deepest secrets, or at least attempted to figure them out. He was a monster, an uptight and careless monster.
THE REVELATION: There came a point in his life in which he was just tired of his scheming ways, which occurred in the beginning of his senior year. He just wanted to be left alone. His parents wanted to send him to school for pre-law, wanting him to become a big shot lawyer His life was all planned, he had his whole life set out at the young age seventeen. Hell, it was basically set in stone since he was in Kindergarten. While his parents put him up on a pedestal, he wasn’t quite as smart as they thought he was. Benjamin was average and although he worked hard for his first three years of high school, that all stopped when he became a senior. He could not find a reason to work hard. In fact, he found it all pretty idiotic.
MAKING THE CHANGE: He could not fathom why he listened to his parents for the first seventeen years of his life, why he let himself become their puppet. That was all going to change though. He ditched his pressed clothes for a much more rugged look, expressing how he felt on the inside. Or at least that’s what he told people. He changed his desired major from Pre-law to Philosophy since he’s way more into “going with the flow” now. Instead of applying to any Ivy Leagues, he applied to colleges that he wanted to go to. He wanted to get as far away from his parents as he could. Ben ended up staying in Lima and enrolled as a philosophy major. It was there in college that he smoked his first blunt and enjoyed it immensely and continues to do so presently. Throughout college, he was considered a loner. It was not as if people were afraid of him or he was afraid of them, he’d just rather have been left alone.
WHERE HE IS NOW: At the time of graduation, where he should have been heading to law school right after, Ben instead volunteered abroad as a basketball coach in Ghana for a year. And then a year became two, and then another one as well. Coming back with no job lined up for him, and fresh off a conversation with his parents about how he would not be allowed to rely on them for money, Ben began to search for a stable job. Fortunately, he was hired at a landscaping company, as part of the yard team just to make sure he was making an income. Ben hated working for them and began to take bartending classes, before eventually getting hired to bartend. It is where he’s been ever since. Still, he feels as if something is missing: that he isn’t doing anything important enough with his life.
WHERE THEY’RE GOING
PLOTTING
SPEAKING TO HIS PARENTS: He hasn’t had a great relationship since he stopped staying underneath their wings. It’d be interesting to have him sit down and actually talk to them about everything and about how he’s feeling. If they’re even listening.
GOOD INFLUENCERS: The problem is he hasn’t had very good idols in his life. Meeting people who could change that for him may change his perspective on everything. He’s honestly a scared little boy beneath everything.
HITTING A LOW SPOT: It’d be interesting to have Ben hit the lowest he’s ever been. Whether it’s just doing nothing with his life that causes him to spiral or what, it could be interesting to see him just spiral and not in a good way.
CONNECTIONS
THE BAD INFLUENCE: Someone who saw Benjamin at his worst, and liked him at his worst. Ben dropped them as a friend after he started to change, but every time they see each other, Ben has a hard time staying on the track of not being vicious. It’s hard for him to resist temptation sometimes.
THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY: These two dated throughout college, and at one point, proposal was on his mind. But Ben needed to get out and didn’t tell this person that he was going out of the country for a year. The pair haven’t really spoken since he got back. He wants to talk to them but isn’t quite sure how.
THE BEST FRIEND: These two just hit it off one day and Ben knows that these two will always be platonic soulmates. He’s so thankful for them in his life and this person is the one person that he’s able to open up to.
THEIR GOALS
Ben wants to just figure out what his purpose in life is. What is he supposed to be doing and how can he do it?

WHAT YOU SEE
full name: bayley “bay” reign fabray.
face claim: dianna agron.
age: 26 years old.
birthday: october, 31st, 1990.
birth order: first.
hometown: beverly hills, california.
gender identity: female.
pronouns: she/her/hers.
orientation: heterosexual and heteromantic.
occupation: bayley is a midwife at the local hospital.
WHERE THEY’VE BEEN
COMING FROM A WEALTHY FAMILY: Judy and Russell Fabray always intended on having children, however they never expected to have two at the same time. They always wanted a big family, but the idea of having two babies in one came as a big shock and they weren’t sure they were going to be able to handle it. Being a very wealthy family meant they were always going to have help by hiring an Au Pair and in some ways that distanced the twins from their parents. Of course, having wealthy parents meant Bayley was handed everything to her on a silver platter, but still to this day she stays humble and likes to keep her heart firmly on the ground.
RECEIVING HER FIRST DOCTORS KIT: From a young age, Bayley always showed compassion and care for others, if any of her friends were hurt from falling over she’d be there with a bandage in hand and shoulder to cry on. It seemed odd that she was such a passionate and caring girl considering she was very guarded sparking from her father always working away. She kept to herself a lot but would always put others before herself. It was pretty obvious that Bayley would end up in the medical profession, so at the age of 6 when she received her first doctors kit from her Grandfather, it just sparked a fire inside of her. After attending university in California on a midwife degree, Bayley had definitely found her belonging in life.
FINDING HER FIRST LOVE/GETTING KNOCKED UP: It wasn’t long before Bayley fell into the friends with benefits situation with most guys at her university, most of her friends telling her she was being naive as they were only sleeping with her because of her money, but she was safe and if Bayley was enjoying herself, then who cares right? There was one guy that Bayley knew her friends were wrong about though, his name was Freddie and she had met him on their first day of her midwifery course, he seemed to be everything that Bayley looked for in a guy, including the fact he was a little older and much more mature than the other guys she had dated before. It seemed she had found the one and they were just generally perfect together. However, three years into the relationship Bayley found herself two weeks late for her period, throwing up every morning and a gain in weight. It was confirmed after five pregnancy tests all showing positive, she was officially knocked up. When the truth finally came out, Bayley found herself more guarded than ever, she felt she had let her family down and now everything was about to change forever. To make matters worse, when Bayley told Freddie about the baby, he fled the moment he found out. No calls, no texts or anything, he just vanished and didn’t want anything to do with Bayley and the baby.
GETTING OUT OF CALIFORNIA: With determination in her mind, Bayley finished her midwifery degree and with her head held high she finished with the best outcome she could’ve wished for. Not long after graduating from university, Bayley decided moving away from California was the best thing for her and the baby. She wanted a fresh start and it seemed the small town of Lima, Ohio was the place for her. Getting her dream job of being a midwife at the local hospital and buying her first home for herself and the baby, Bayley seems to have turned her life around for the better, even with a few bumps in the way.
WHERE THEY’RE GOING
PLOTTING
FALLING IN LOVE: Bayley hasn’t dated a lot of people since her last relationship, yeah she would hook up with a lot of people but as soon as feelings got involved Bayley would run a mile. Especially since the Freddie situation Bayley has been even more guarded when it comes to dating and relationships, so it would be nice to see someone break down those walls and let her finally open up again.
KNOW HER WORTH: Bayley is that person who constantly cares for others and often forgets that she needs to care for herself too. It comes with her job as well as just being an unselfish person. It would be great for Bayley to realise she is just important as others and finally start believing in herself.
MENDING A BROKEN RELATIONSHIP: Since having her baby, Bayley hasn’t had any contact with her family back in California. Things were just awkward and Bayley didn’t want that drama following her to her fresh start. It would be nice to see her rekindle with her family and finally start letting people into her life again.
CONNECTIONS
THE ONE: Someone who Bayley can open up to and actually allow herself to have feelings for, could either be an old friend that there used to be sparks with or someone completely new who could sweep her off her feet.
A PARTNER IN CRIME: Someone who is Bayley’s literal best friend for life, they would both do anything for each other and this person is someone Bayley could tell anything to. They love Bayley’s baby and accept her for all her baggage and flaws.
THE GOOD INFLUENCE: This person is a good reminder for Bayley when she forgets to look after herself and can bring her head firmly back down to earth when things get a little too much. This person knows Bayley all too well and knows which buttons control her, definitely one of the most important people in Bayley’s life.
THEIR GOALS
At this moment in time, Bayley just wants to be the best mother she can and raise her daughter with pride in her heart and make her proud of who she is.

WHAT YOU SEE
full name: Genevieve “Annie” Anne St. James
face claim: Emmy Rossum
age: 26
birthday: 10.31.1990
birth order: canon older sibling
hometown: Lima, OH
gender identity: Female
pronouns: She/Her/Hers
orientation: Bisexual Biromantic
occupation: Master’s student and piano instructor
area of study: Piano Pedagogy
WHERE THEY’VE BEEN
Raised by a Stage Mom™: For what’s felt like Annie’s entire life, the St. James parents have encouraged their children to reach for the stars… literally. With her mother being a former beauty pageant queen, it really shouldn’t surprise anyone that she decided to live out her younger years vicariously through her first-born daughter. Annie began participating in child pageants at the age of three, with her mom acting ever-the-stereotype of a stage mom, always expecting her to act a certain way and to look a certain way, often chastising her for small things that could simply fall under the umbrella of ‘childhood behavior’ – dirt under her fingernail, slouching, anything that might translate onto the stage. While Annie won a few pageants here and there, it became obvious as she grew older that she simply had no interest in the spotlight. At least not in the way her parents wanted. All it did was help to create a rather timid child who was afraid of disappointing. It was a temper tantrum at the age of 9 that finally  made her mother agree to pull her from the pageant circuit, but Annie’s always felt like that’s when a rift formed between her and her mom, though neither would ever admit it out loud.
Falling in love with music: All Annie has ever wanted to do was make her parents happy, however that may be. Although they enrolled her in dance and music lessons back when she still did pageants, over time Annie lost any interest in the things they forced on her with the exception of one: piano.  Oh, how she loved piano, even when her small hands couldn’t quite play an octave and her feet didn’t yet reach the pedals. Music quickly became her solace, and her instructors proclaimed her as being a natural, a prodigy even. Despite Annie’s pride in herself from such a young age, her parents were…. well, less than impressed. A pianist wasn’t exactly someone who could soak up fame and fortunate as much as some other kind of entertainer, and once they realized that Annie was uninterested in other avenues, she may as well have become invisible when it came to her parent’s praise, resulting in a limited sense of self-esteem and a constant desire to make them proud for what she is rather than what she’s not. At that point, music really became her one true solace, and by the time she started middle school, she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt it was what she wanted to do with her future.
{{Trigger warnings for references to anorexia nervosa - binge/purge subtype}}
Her eating disorder: It didn’t start off intentional – once she entered university, most of her free time was spent in the school’s practice rooms, rehearsing for hours until her wrists and fingers were sore from wanting to be at the top of her performance classes, and missing meals on more than one occasion as a result. It wasn’t something she took note of until friends began commenting her on her slight weight loss. And Annie, who’d been raised with the unending craving for even the slightest recognition, loved it. This eventually turned into a purposeful diet to shed a few more pounds, with an end goal in mind. When she reached that goal though, she told herself “a little bit more couldn’t hurt”, a mantra that soon became all too common for her. Her “diet” soon turned into a crash diet, with her skipping more and more meals and becoming better at making excuses for why. It’s only when people started asking her to eat with them that she began purging what she did eat, a habit that became the closest thing to control that she’d ever had over her own life. During her junior year of undergrad, at an end-of-the-year student recital that she’d rehearsed for for months, Annie’s secret was found out. She’d convinced her parents to come out and see her - the first time they had agreed and made room in their schedule to go to any of her performances since she’d started college. For Annie, that meant the bar was raised in terms of how good she had to be. She remembers walking out onto the stage when it was her time to perform, and the next thing she remembers is waking up in the hospital, later being told that she’d passed out and hit her head on the piano bench on her way down. Annie considers that to be her latest point, and there was no longer a chance of her making excuses with the doctors noting her dwindling weight and the scabs on the back of her knuckles from purging. At her parents forcing, Annie found herself in an inpatient treatment program, and upon her release, her parents insisted on her taking a year off of school to “make sure [she was] all sorted out.”
Getting in to teaching: For the majority of her life, Annie was convinced that she wanted to be a concert pianist. It’s why she majored in piano performance as an undergrad. Sure it took her a year longer than anticipated to earn her degree, but the fact of the matter is that she earned it. Actually becoming a concert pianist though was a complete separate story. She had every intention of moving to New York or Philadelphia after graduating, but knew that it wouldn’t be an immediate thing. She worked two jobs after getting her diploma, while also deciding to offer piano lessons on the side for anyone interested for a little extra cash flow. It was only meant to be temporary until she’d saved up enough to move to the east coast, but Annie quickly fell in love with watching other people discover the beauty of music. More than that, it filled her with an intense sense of satisfaction to know that she’d helped them discover that beauty. It’s this satisfaction that compelled her to reroute her dreams and, at the age of 25, she was re-enrolling at her undergrad alma mater to earn her master’s in piano pedagogy — while being a concert pianist is still her ultimate dream, helping to teach other’s music has become a passion of hers that she desperately wants to harness.
WHERE THEY’RE GOING
PLOTTING
Discovering herself as a person: For the majority of her life, Annie has considered her main purpose  to be fulfilling her parents’ expectations and dreams. While she is very much content with where she’s at in life and genuinely does want the future that she’s on track for, it’s still been hard to really think of herself as someone with meaning beyond that. A chance for her to discover her own worth as a person, rather than just her parent’s practice child, would be phenomenal.
A blip in recovery: Obviously something to be handled sensitively and respectfully, but being in a program like the one she’s in can understandably lead to stress and frustration. While maybe not a full on relapse, it’s something that does hold the potential to make Annie doubt her desire for recovery.
Fixing what’s been broken: Annie is someone who’s learned that trust is a fragile thing in this lifetime, and because of this, has ended up almost self-sabotaging certain relationships in her life. It could be friendly, familial, or romantic, but the opportunity for her to actually mend something that’s been strained.
CONNECTIONS
MENTEE - So many possibilities, really. It could be either someone she’s offering piano lessons to, someone in an undergrad music program who she’s sort of taken under her wing, or - on a deeper level - someone who’s struggling with the same battles she once did. Whatever the common bond is, this is someone younger than Annie who she wants to help better in some form or another, and to offer them a helpful hand when possible.
LIFELONG FRIEND - Could be either a family friend or someone she met in elementary school, maybe even through lessons as a child. Regardless of what forged it, these two have been thick as thieves since day one, and Annie can’t possibly imagine where she would be in life if it weren’t for their saving grace. Just someone who is able to see past what she’s been through and still continue to be at her side no matter what.
FELLOW MUSICIAN - Music (specifically piano) is the brightest thing in Annie’s life, and she sometimes feels that she’s underestimated when she tries to tell people just how much it means to her. Someone who completely gets that love and respects music the same as her would be a huge blessing to her.
THEIR GOALS
Annie just wants to change lives with her music. It can be from inspiring someone who hears her to fall in love with piano, or teaching someone how to play in a way that (at the very least) helps them to be a better, happier person. She genuinely believes that music can enhance every aspect of a person - it’s definitely helped save her on more than one occasion. She wants to share that same feeling with the world, and hopes graduating with her degree will put her one stop closer to doing so.

WHERE THEY’VE BEEN
TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of attempted suicide and panic attacks
Getting scared of settling down. Al’s parents have always been a bunch of pacifists. Now, it’s definitely not something he could complain about because, in a certain way, it actually had its perks, but not when there’s an elephant in the room and his parents would rather not talk to each other to keep a fight from happening in front of their kids and wait until everything’s shoved under the rag and everyone moved on. As a child, he didn’t really think much of it. In fact, he was grateful, but the older he got, the more he was exposed to other people’s way of dealing with things, and his opinion about his pacifist parents soon changed — especially when they made him their mediator, telling him contradicting things about the same problem. He tried his best to encourage them to talk, but it was like talking to two solid walls that he just got tired of it at some point. One particular Saturday night, fifteen year old Al packed his bags, left just before dinner time, and went to stay at a classmate’s house not far away from their own house. He’d refused to answer their calls and even refused to take the food that his parents sent later on for their sleepover. It wasn’t until the next day when he finally answered his mother’s call, telling him that they were going to church together (to which he asked, “All of us?” then later on answered with, “Yes. All of us.” by his mom). Somehow, even as their family car stopped in front of his friend’s house — his mom and dad smiling at him as if nothing happened the previous night — Al knew that nothing had been fixed; that his parents simply decided to forget everything and talk to each other again (not about their problem, though) just for the sake of getting Al back. Somehow, even after what he did, his parents never tried to change their attitude. They still refused to talk about their problems, still used Al as their mediator, and Al just got so tired of it that he eventually came to a conclusion that marriage was fucking overrated. This had caused a shift in the way Al worked in relationships as years went by. Al still knew how to like people; he still got himself in relationships, and yet when his girlfriend would start talking about the future and settling down, he’d oftentimes step back and refuse to talk about anything that had to do with the future, always insisting that they were good as they were — that they should enjoy what they have in the present time before they start fucking things up because of getting tired of each other’s presence in the future.
Meeting the first person he trusts. Al’s family had always been musically inclined. His father knew how to play the guitar and sing; his mother and twin sister were exceptional singers; and then, there’s Al with his love for the guitar, piano, and singing. One would have thought that he was set to become a singer one day, but his parents — as much as they supported his love for music — refused to let him have it as his career. Al wasn’t much of a rebel, but just to (lowkey) spite his parents, he created a youtube account, set up his own mini-studio at home (just his laptop, midi, guitar, and microphone, really) and became a cover artist during his freshman year in college. In the midst of being an aspiring teacher, Al soon became a relatively well-known cover artist, even collaborating with other cover artists in youtube — which was where he met Dino Lopez. Due to fans’ demand, both cover artists worked together and became good friends; Al would even visit LA to hang out with Dino the summer. With Al being an ambivert and Dino being an extrovert, it was no surprise that they hit it off right away, and Al just loved having Dino around, since she’s basically his ticket to everything crazy. Lord knows Al usually never did half of what he’d usually do when he’s in the company of Dino.
Breaking down, finally. Growing up in the presence of people who usually never let out their thoughts and emotions, it was no surprise that Al grew up just like them. Not even his sister — who was admittedly very sweet and considerate of his feelings — could keep him from being just that. However, one could only keep things bottled up for long. One particular night as a senior in college, he’d been pushed to the point of attempting suicide, but he’d miraculously managed to dial Dino’s number (she’s seriously the only person who’s not direct family in his phone) in the midst of his panicking, and it was through the phone where he poured all his concerns for the first time in his life even before Dino could say hello. Since then, Al had tried his best to change himself a little bit, talk every now and then to Dino just to keep himself in check. He couldn’t believe that he’d actually considered ending his life, and he was truly scared of going through that again.
Becoming a teacher; a better him. After graduating getting his license to teach at the age of 23, Al wasted no time to start teaching in his alma mater, and it was a couple of years later after that when he finally started working at Dino’s label as a producer during the night (or during his time outside of school). With Dino’s influence in his life, and the colleagues he eventually met at school, Al began socializing even more. Nowadays, with the natural need to be outgoing as a teacher as well as the encouragement of his friends, Al was a lot more approachable, and made conversations with strangers easily compared to when he was younger.
WHERE THEY’RE GOING
PLOTTING
for someone to heal him: kind of? kinda want to see this guy go through a very slow process of changing his views in relationship and marriage all over again. lots of push and pulls, maybe — it’s going to be one hell of a frustrating ride, but that’s what makes it fun.
for someone or something to bring out the beast in him: not what it sounds like — definitely not. al bottles up his emotions too much and refuses to do anything that is generally considered violent, and while talking to Dino helps him every now and then, sometimes — a guy just got to grab some gloves and punch something to let out his frustrations. the lack of gloves can work too, depending on the situation.
for someone to fuck up his clean reputation as a teacher: people sometimes, if not most, just love thinking that teachers should be literal angels outside the school so that their students wouldn’t be influenced negatively. But like most teachers in the world, Al believes that he’s free to do whatever he wants outside the school, as long as he wasn’t hurting anybody. His covers of songs with inappropriate lyrics, as well as the songs he helped produce and composed for ADULTS, will be brought up by this person, causing uproar among some parents aka he’ll be labelled a negative influence to the kids because of his works in the music industry. this could be a potential dark time for Al, but it could also lead to some changes in his life (like his job or something). it’ll depend on how things work out.
CONNECTIONS
healer: basically the person who’ll change some of Al’s views in life, particularly in relationships. would rather have this as an organic development, however.
bro: this person could be a man or a woman or whatever; basically someone who’ll bring out the human in Al (since he loves to refer to himself as an alien sometimes with his lack of interest in activities that people of his age often like), someone who’ll encourage him to act reckless and do something bad in his life even just twice a year, and someone who’ll encourage him to explore his talents more than what he’s done in the past. this person could also be considered his one and only best friend.
first lady: she’s the first lady to ever experience Al’s changes in the past; the first person Al would ever hurt with his refusal to talk about feelings and anything considered sentimental; the first Al would have a nasty breakup with; the first person in Al’s terrible record in relationships.
THEIR GOALS
Other than seeing his students be successful in life (and never let them forget about him as the awesome and very nice teacher in middle school), he just wants Loca Bonita to be one of the most successful records in the country whose artists are genuinely talented and passionate in music.
