if we start off on one allignemnt (aka good) could we like switch to the other one?

Yes! That’s entirely possible and especially encouraged!

We see the affiliations as a way to help you flesh the character out, and roleplay is often very much open-ended and very similar to improv in that you don’t know what you’re getting as a response so watching and thinking about how many directions a thread or a plot can go is interesting and really helps build your character. It throws in some realism, in a way. 

If you want your character being good because you genuinely believe that it fits them, and then either through peer pressure, or manipulation or just a genuine change of heart, they change from being good to bad (or worse!) would be absolutely amazing as well. Also vice versa from bad to good!

It fits in with the whole universe as a whole, as I was taught from the Harry Potter series that there’s more to it than just good vs. bad, right vs. wrong. There’s a lot of grey areas, and excellent characters to demonstrate that -- Peter Pettigrew, Regulus Black, Severus Snape, Albus Dumbledore...

Oh, I am sorry for this tangent. But short answer, yes! You can absolutely change your character’s allingment any time! Just let the admins know so we can make additions to the bio/character page!

Dominique Weasley ● Part-Human (Veela Ancestry) ● Slytherin ● Sixth Year

Dominique Elizabeth Weasley is a sixteen year old Part-Human witch with Veela ancestry attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Slytherin House. Her alignment is bad, her wand type is 9 inch Elder Wood with a phoenix feather core and her patronus is a tiger. She currently identifies as bisexual. People say she looks like Muggle actress Madeline Petsch.

Dominique Elizabeth Weasley was a unique girl. She was part veela, like her mother but had inherited her father’s brilliantly red hair. She was also one of the only Weasleys never to be sorted into Gryffindor. The day she let for Hogwarts, her father had joked he would still love her if she was a Ravenclaw, because she had intelligence to spare. He added any house but Slytherin, but that was where the girl was sorted after a hat stall, where she insisted she wanted to be more than smart, she wanted power. She was pure blood, but considered to be part of a family of blood traitors and wasn’t very welcomed in her first or second year, even with excellent grades rivaling the Ravenclaws. It wasn’t until her 3rd year where she looks came in and she was able to use her magical creature abilities to bring others into her. Boys and girls were unable to resist her and her charm. She made many friends in the dungeon and outside of it as well. An excellent student, she had her run ins with others, but used her scary side to make sure none of them every reported her. Nique can be a bit of bully, using her magic to scare the younger students as well as mess with others in the hallway, especially if she felt someone had done her wrong. A tripping jink, changing someone’s hair color and all while not getting caught.

Her mother, who had not grew up around the fierce competition around houses, had treated Nique the same as always, but the girl felt a drift between her and her father. She spent her summers more in France, than at home. Her grandmothers making her only speak French and practice the customs they were used to. She learned more about control and she grew distant from her huge family. Even the extended Potters became less and less involved in her life, though her aunt Ginny was always sending her the same gifts she sent her own. She couldn’t explain why she felt so different, only that they all considered her house the evil one. She wasn’t evil, a little power hungry but far from the bad history. Or so she thought.

As she entered her fifth year, she was pleasantly surprised to be named a prefect.  She took it to heart and used it as a way to live up to her new identity within in her family. She was still lusted after and had a small following behind her, but she was also now feared. In her sixth year, she’s focused on studying for her Newts exams and figuring out exactly what she wanted to do after she left the school. Not beyond tormenting her family and having fun at their expanse, the girl is ready to do what she was to do to have fun and remind people of exactly who she is.

The Bad Affiliation

She uses her veela heritage to manipulate people. She knows they are  drawn in by the powers of her beauty but she uses it to her advantage.

She has what is commonly referred to as her scary side. A first year once damaged a pair of shoes of the girl and she momentarily lit her on fire. However, after calming the girl and using her song to lure her into a false sense of security, she was able to stop her from telling. Of course, she didn’t have the level of skill to perform a memory erasing charm as she does now.

Dominique is not afraid to dabble in the dark arts. She studies them, saying they’re needed as a learning permit only and takes her time learning about them. Defense Against The Dark Arts is a good class but why not know all you can about the dark arts?

Opening Day!

We are pleased to announce it’s the first official opening day of Twenty Three Years Later! You can now post starters and have your characters interact! Remember to follow the ttylstarter tag and check it out every day! 

Applications will now be accepted every Monday and Thursday, and activity will now be checked! If you are inactive for four days straight, you will be given a 24 hour notice. If you are still inactive, you will be removed.

Based on the events of the Cursed Child and the series as a whole, this roleplay navigates the lives and events of our beloved characters, in addition to their children and friends. There’s finally peace in the wizarding world, but it won’tl last long, as there’s a dark secret even worse than Voldemort brewing....

I'm a little confused if we are applying for a canon character do we have to fill out the bio or just use the one that has already been made?

Sorry for any confusion, we’ll make sure to make it clear on the blog.

You write the character’s bios, but the Affiliation notes are there as a guide to help you navigate the character. We tried keeping them as vague as possible, and upon discussion are willing to change them to help fit with any personal HC’s you may have for that character. 

If you’re applying for an OC or a canon not on the list, it’s up to you to write your own notes to add to the bio, as long as it’s not something hugely plot-altering (these would have to be cleared with us first).

Would you consider opening up two characters per person? I am definitely interested but I would love to play a canon character and an oc character. This looks awesome by the way!

At the moment, second characters can be applied for after two weeks of activity on the first, but people are definitely allowed two.

Hello everybody!

Although we did state original characters and additional canon’s would not be accepted until three characters on the list were taken, we have decided to lift that ban due to a high demand of requests of people wanting to bring their orginals in earlier. We have reworked the application form to include space for you to add your own affiliation notes. We are always around to help and answer questions regarding it. 

Other things to note:

Gryffindors are still banned until the numbers have evened out for the other houses, particularly Slytherin and Hufflepuff. As soon as the numbers have evened out, Gryffindors will be free to play again

You can use an FC who is currently used as a placeholder if you so wish, and any FC you feel comfortable with unless they are on the banned list
