MONDSTRAPUERIC
Mond (German, moon) + astra (Latin, star/constellation) + puer (Latin, boy) + ic
A gender related to the moon, being a boy, how someone’s boyness may shift similarly or comparatively to the moon's cycle, as well as twinkle, shine, and or burn more or less intensely, or burn so much for a period of time that it fades out, and stars. It also may or may not be connected to comets, depending on the entity and how they use the term.
IDs
FIRST IMAGE - [ID: A four-striped pastel coloured flag. From top to bottom, the colours are: Purple, blue, light blue, and baby blue. The first and fourth stripes are wavy, and not completely a straight stripe. Along with this, a crescent moon emblem sits in the middle, slightly to the left. In the middle of the moon is a comet with the boy symbol within it. Two sets of three yellow stars sit in both the bottom left and top right corners. In the middle of the flag are small white stars, dots, and twinkles. END ID]
SECOND IMAGE - [ID: A four-striped pastel coloured flag. From top to bottom, the colours are: Purple, blue, light blue, and baby blue. The first and fourth stripes are wavy, and not completely a straight stripe. END ID]
One is not the best with IDs, so one apologises—but one makes an effort to try!
Flag Colour Meanings
Shades of blue represent fluctuating intensity as well as stars. Purple represents fading/burning out for a certain period of time, and remnants (think of a black dwarf!)
Misc.
One hopes this is alright! this is one’s first ever coining post. Coined by one, for one! Anyone is allowed to use this term. [EDIT:] Slightly edited for clarification reasons + inclusitivity (changed person to entity). If anyone has questions, feel free to ask!

[ID: Series of Tweets by Hogan @Hogan698 “American tank mechanic here. Some advice. Tanks are bad at urban combat. They need infantry support. Without boots on ground they're just big targets with poor visibility. Rifles should aim for the periscopes, but most importantly the sight unit on top of the turret. Take down street signs. Don't let the enemy know where they are. Move signs to the wrong streets. Tanks are super heavy, so try to direct them to streets that can't hold their weight. They can't move if they break through to the sewer. Break the tracks if you have explosives. Tracks are also terrible for catching stuff like barbed wire/concertina wire. Line the streets with anything that can get sucked in and tangle up. The engine needs to breathe, so throw your molotov cocktails at whatever looks like an intake for the engine. It has rubber belts, hoses, and fuel lines. Tanks are a logistical nightmare. They need a supply chain a mile long for service parts, and especially fuel. They can usually only go about 300 miles on improved roads on one tank of fuel. Stop the supply line, and a tank is just a giant pile of useless iron. Visibility is rather poor from an armored vehicle. If you paint dinner plates to look like mines and set them upsode down in the street, the tank crew won't be able to tell if they're real or not. The U.S. ARMY likes to fight at night because we have thermal imagers. Thermal picks up heat, so you can not hide behind a bush, but anything that is ambient temperature just looks like a black square. They can't see through windows because the glass is ambient. Cut up cardboard boxes and put them everywhere. The cardboard is the same temperature as the environment. Hiding behind anything that obscures vision only works if they don't have thermal. Sheets of cardboard in every bush, tree, etc. Will just be a square in a thermal imager. Set them up everywhere as distractions. Make a chaos terrain for the enemy.”]

// rant, click read more to view. one curses a bit
ppl against xenogenders need to maybe just occupy their time with something else. one hates to say it, but if you are seriously getting pissed at fucking genders you need. you need to do something else. you need to figure out why you feel so threatened by genders that diverge from your expectations, you need to figure out why you feel this way instead of pitting the blame against your own community that you think that you’re““protecting”” by bashing and making fun of xenogenders
alternatively: just don’t look! seriously! one hates to fucking say that line, one really does, but... if you are seriously getting mad at xenogenders? one’s sorry. don’t fucking look. “b... but its harmful!!!!!” no, what the hell are you on about??? yeah ok, playing and completely dismantling the idea of the social construct of gender is absolutely harmful yep makes total sense /s
telling people to hurt themselves (because of how they identify), to not express themselves how they want to, to not allow them to be themselves, is much more harmful than whatever the hell youre on about you are repressing their entire being. you are rejecting their feelings, you are rejecting their entire core you are causing internalised hatred for an individual are there harmful things? of course! but do you know who makes those harmful things? trolls. trolls fucking do. when something is harmful, it is condemned by the ENTIRE COMMUNITY. remember that “superstraight” bullshit? yeah. everyone condemned that shit because it WAS harmful. either way though, if youre mad at xeno users, make fun of ‘em, or anything like that, kindly fuck off as one has a whole bunch of xenogenders! start crying, boo hoo waah

(1) Hello everyone. I'm from Ukraine. Please help spread the information about African and Nigerian students in Ukraine. #AfricansinUkraine
I read from @ nzekiev on twitter that the day before yesterday it was very hard for Africans to get on any train in Kyiv, they were letting them in the last, many managed to get in only coz they started pushing African women into the train so they had to allow everyone in. Before that if they managed to get on the train they were sent back outside with the phrase "Ukrainians first", but nobody was checking anyone's passports.
Today, February 27, he says the Ukrainian soldiers at the Polish border were holding them at gunpoint if they crossed the border before Ukrainians. These are students, they can't be fighting this war!!! Other people of color share on twitter that it's harder for them to cross the border, a Nigerian medical student told @ stephheharty they were told Ukrainians go first and were sent to the back of the queue by Ukrainian soldiers on Polish border.
@ Damilare_arah shared a video where Ukrainian soldiers block Africans from getting on trains. (https://twitter.com/Damilare_arah/status/1497654141350522880?t=rkNx-B9TffKopCRtfgZodA&s=19)
I can't figure out how to download videos from Twitter so I'm attaching screenshots. (https://twitter.com/Damilare_arah/status/1497855205098106880?t=gi_dUgx8nFI36KqlH-CeEA&s=19) (https://twitter.com/nzekiev/status/1497805019311218689?t=hz-3gS0hFxwAZQddLZI85w&s=19)
We must help. They can't be denied shelter while every other white Ukrainian gets to cross the border right before their eyes. @ chylady and @ Damilare_arah share all the important information for Africans and Nigerians on where to find help and also donations.
@ korrinesky is actively sharing all the information. This thread increases to this day and time https://twitter.com/korrinesky/status/1496770898019303427?t=oheEMMWK2KecFzPFWb05iA&s=19
They also have a Telegram chat for African and Caribbean students who are in Lviv but I can't seem to be able to copy the link directly so I'm sending the link to the tweet: https://twitter.com/korrinesky/status/1497661192038453251?t=1bzZxfWvu-zf-zQhFk4BMw&s=19
Use the hashtag #AfricansinUkraine and mentions @UN @RedCross @UNESCO @wateraid @amnesty @gatesfoundation @FordFoundation @ActionAid @Oxfam on twitter.

I've been thinking about that post I shared the other night about how genderqueer is a misunderstood and ignored identity...and the reason really is the queerphobia.
There are, and have been for as long as I've been active in the community, people who are very against the existence of genderqueer as an umbrella term.
Genderqueer used to be the most common umbrella term for gender identities outside of the binary and for all forms of gender nonconformity. It's on this website that I really watched that change, and it changed because of people who were anti-queer and who didn't want to be associated with queerness.
I was reminded of this not too long ago, when I went searching for the original post where the first nonbinary flag was created. The nonbinary flag was created in February 2014, and I made this blog during that same week as a response to the anti-queer attitudes on this website around that time.
The nonbinary flag was created by a person who was against genderqueer as the umbrella term, because genderqueer was too "political" and contains a "slur".
The flag creator went so far as to claim that it was a "myth" that genderqueer was ever an umbrella term.
No, really: here's the post. (And for those who have never seen it, here is the original nonbinary flag post.)
Queerphobia is the reason that genderqueer identity is ignored and misunderstood. That, and the fact that most people are completely unaware of the history and origin of the term.
And it's kind of bizarre, because it's recent-in-my-life-time-history and I'm not even 30.
Genderqueer was coined in the 90s, and the person who coined the term is still alive and has a twitter account and blogs??
GenderQueer: Voices From Beyond the Sexual Binary was published almost 20 years ago. (And is now in re-print, so one no longer has to hunt down a used copy anymore!!)
And yet the general attitude is that genderqueer is a new invention. And the same folks seem to believe that the reclamation of queer is a brand new idea and not a deliberate action that has already been taken by countless queer people for decades.
Genderqueer does function as a specific gender identity label, and it is one of the many labels I use for myself. This isn't the original usage of the term, but one that has developed since it's creation.
Genderqueer is an umbrella term, a very large umbrella term, and this is by design; it is intended to encompass every form of transness, every kind of gender nonconformity, every complex and creative gender identity, and every queer experience of marginalization based upon gender and sex.
The definitions that I see attributed to the word genderqueer are usually far more narrow than that, including simplified definitions that I myself have given the word so that it would be easier for others to understand; the way that the term is used today is not how it used to be used, which is kind of disappointing actually. No other word that we have functions in that way, as a broad and proud banner for all queer people who are marginalized because of gender and sex.
Perhaps the broad inclusiveness of the term is why it's grown so unpopular.

Yo can I run something by you? You seem to be older than me and more knowledgeable about the LGBT community in general and I've been seeing something on one of the stim blogs I follow about mspec lesbians/gays being harmful? Do you know what that means? As far as I know, that term is something related to the split attraction model so I don't really understand how, for example, a biromantic lesbian could be harmful just by existing
Like it feels very cruel to me, and I'm thinking of unfollowing them, but I'd like to have a better understanding of things first
It's just the latest brand of exclusionist (and, subsequently, radfem) bullshit; same motives, different targets.
The idea is that because lesbians are often preyed upon by straight men who want to "convert" them, lesbians who both identify as lesbians, and might willingly become involved with straight men "set a bad precedent" or some such bullshit. The reality, of course, is that lesbophobic straight men will be lesbophobic regardless of what lesbians do or how they identify, and lesbophobia is never the fault of lesbians themselves. It's victim-blaming, and it's lesbophobic to imply as much.
It's rooted heavily in radfem rhetoric as well; gold star lesbianism, political lesbianism, and lesbian separatism play heavily into these beliefs, with the idea being that lesbians are the Purest and also Most Oppressed group because of their separation from men (who are Dirty and Corrupted). Radfems- and people who fall for their rhetoric without necessarily calling themselves as much- believe m-spec lesbians are "dangerous" or "illegitimate" because of their involvement (or potential involvement) with men.
The ideas are incredibly transmisogynistic as well; for the fact that it feeds into radfem rhetoric & gender-essentialism, as well as inherently transmisogynistic ideologies like lesbian separatism and gold star lesbianism; for the view of being "male-adjacent" as "dirtying" (how must they view butch trans women, non-passing trans women, nonbinary transfems with connections to manhood, closeted transfems...?)
And because it doesn't allow any room for the complicated relationships transfems often have with gender and orientation. It requires them to give up all connection to manhood and masculinity, to erase their histories as people who may have once felt they were, identified as, or been men (depending on their personal feelings about their gender), and to conform to a type of womanhood that makes cis women comfortable in order to be seen as "legitimate" women/lesbians.
And that's without getting into the other issues with m-spec lesbian exclusionism. What about lesbians with nonbinary- and especially genderfluid- partners, who may feel dysphoric with partners who identify solely as lesbians? What about nonbinary- and especially genderfluid- lesbians, who may feel dysphoric identifying solely as lesbians or m-spec?
Not to mention that there are even more legitimate reasons to identify that way: maybe you're technically m-spec, but by choice or by chance happen to lean strongly toward lesbian relationships. Maybe you've identified as a lesbian for so long, become such a part of the community, that a newly-discovered m-spec identity is not enough to make you willing to leave that identity and community. Maybe you're a system, or part of a system, and explaining your identity as either "m-spec" or "lesbian" just doesn't make sense in that context. Maybe it's a split-attraction thing, or maybe it's a preference thing, or maybe it's something else.
Queer people identifying in ways that make sense to them will never, ever be the reason queerphobia exists. Queer people are not to blame for our own oppression. And the entire point of our community, and our cause, is to allow queer people to identify in the ways that make sense and feel good for them.
Creating more rigid binaries and boxes with rigid, palatable-to-cis-&-straight-people labels will not liberate us; it only adjusts our current systems of oppression to allow a few more people a bit more useless respectability.
** I talk predominately about lesbians here because the discourse originated with lesbians, as a TERF and radfem argument against queer and trans people. The inclusion of m-spec gay men in the argument came later, and was mostly an optics thing. These arguments are largely being made by feminist and cis lesbian communities, even wrt gay men.
