the clementine comic still makes me unrelentingly angry. it's impossible to convince me or pretty much any of the fans that this is in any way realistic to what clementine's actions would be. you mean to tell me that clementine is going to leave the home she literally fought so hard to protect and live at, leave her partner who she loved and went through hell with (most players did romance one of them!) AND leave AJ AS IF THE FACT THAT SHE WAS LEAVING THE OTHERS ISN'T ALREADY A MAJORLY OUT OF CHARACTER THING TO DO?? she promised all the way through the game that she wouldn't leave AJ, the first fucking rule she made up was "never go alone", she went through hell to keep AJ from danger and she went through emotional trauma at mccarroll ranch for him but this comic expects the fans of the game to completely ignore ALL of that for what? so that we can read about some character that barely resembles the clementine that all four seasons of the telltale game worked to build?? and it's just incredibly hard to believe that tillie actually played through the game and understood the character because of what this comic is about. it's hardly a tribute to the games. this story has no canon ties - and clementine doesn't even have any physical scars that imply the backstory she has even happened!! it's just fucking hard to believe that this is what we're getting. i wish it were a prank.

you know how eleanor is just naturally flirty? imagine if instead of javi she met kate and when she flirts with her and it kinda catches kate off guard??? because she kinda likes it?? she humors eleanor a little bit and then it somehow turns into a conversation about her past relationship with david and how shes somewhat close to javi and eleanor starts sympathizing and giving advice, telling kate that shes a strong woman and how she doesnt need some guy, because elle has had her share of bad relationships. the two immediately click... as friends, right? series goes on and there are some special moments between them, and kate finds herself enjoying eleanors company more than she should be. she feels heard, she feels seen when shes with elle, she feels like her own indivual again. maybe she had a thing with david because david also saw that, but as times went on he never saw her like that again and the relationship broke. maybe eleanor was able to pick up on the fact kate had a small [big] crush on her, knowing the only reason kate is trying to hide is because of her past bad expierences, and also shes never been like this with another girl so she lets kate take her time. as they continue to talk, their relationship blooming, kate cant help but be drawn more and more to her. she tries to hold it back out of fear, but she cant, she feels too safe with her, and ultimately gives into her feelings, letting go of the negativity and stress david and maybe javi gave her.
#im gonna um#go ..#twdg#ALL im saying is eleanor and javi have similarities in terms of charm n flirtation skills#so......... if kate was able to crush on javi.........#listen i want kate either to be a strong indivual by her SELF or with kate#ok bye#SHE STILL LOVES MARIANA AND GABE AND VIEWS HERSELF AS THEIR MOTHER#she just yk got a gfie

Would like to point out that, despite what Carlos thought, Sarah wasn’t going to fall apart completely if she were to realize the full truth of the post-outbreak world. In fact, she’s already somewhat aware of it.
When the cabin group leave to find Pete and Nick, leaving Clem to watch Sarah, you are given the option to tell her the truth. Her first reaction is about how her father must’ve told Clem not to tell her that, meaning she’s aware that there’s something her dad isn’t telling her. If you choose to tell her that Pete’s dead, she’s shocked (of course) and needs a moment to pull herself together: sitting on the floor, doing some breathing exercises.
Clem joins her on the floor, and there’s a quiet moment between them before Sarah suddenly gets up again. Now here comes the gun part. Sarah found this gun under the house, told no one but Clem (not even her dad), and asks Clem to show her how to use it. Which means she knows that knowing how to shoot is something that she’s going to have to know, and more importantly, it’s something she wants to know.
Sarah is willing to learn, and this scene shows that. When she makes the mistake of pointing the gun at Clem—asking Clem what she should shoot—she immediately apologizes and points the gun away from Clem when Clem scolds her for being reckless with it. Immediately after, Sarah suggests that maybe they should go outside and practice on a tree: she still wants to know how to use this weapon, and she wants to do it as safely as possible.
(Side note: that one scene outside of Carver’s truck, if Carver slaps Clem, Sarah immediately steps up to defend her and doesn’t back down. This is significant because Carver literally terrifies Sarah. She was starting to have a panic attack when Carver showed up at the cabin, the adults in the group are obviously running from and are terrified of him, and after everything that happened at the winter cabin (Alvin or Walter dead, Carlos being beaten, the whole group being kidnapped, and now Carver slapping a girl younger than Sarah so hard she crumbled to the floor) and yet she still defends Clementine; no matter how rude or nice Clem was to her before. She can and will be brave and protect others, even if she’s terrified.)
I fully believe that if Sarah was taught what to do and supported by the rest of the group, as well as shown some kindness and understanding, she could’ve came to terms with Carlos’ death and survive. It wouldn’t have been easy, of course, but as long as Sarah was willing to try then it definitely could’ve happened.
All this is to say; if you chose to save Sarah at the trailer, then she should’ve stayed alive. (Not to mention the way all the characters immediately ignore Sarah’s death like it never happened just to focus on AJ.)

i think ppl need to be more open minded in this fandom tbh, not even targeting people specifically as i think the community is chill now but as someone on the reddit, here AND the old twdg forums i think we all need to be reminded this is just a game series.
if someone doesnt like this character for a valid reason, let them be!! if someone likes this character you dont like, let them be!!!!!!!
people interrupt certain characters a different way than you, and thats okay! to me thats super cool, i like seeing peoples takes on characters i dont like, it makes me appreciate them more. but you can let it bother you, just dont get pushful and super verbal out of nowhere trying to start a one sided argument.
this doesnt include people who actively /enjoy/ conversing respectfully with other people on different takes btw!
i think the keyword here in general is respect. its a game series. have different opinions whatever, just be respectful

you know how like clementine's trauma led to her indirectly causing aj's trauma and how clementine tried everything she possibly could to get aj back even though so many people told her he was safe and happy because he couldn't be safe and happy if he wasn't with her and how she was willing to kill just to get aj back and how she's a flawed morally grey character just trying to do what lee did, trying to get aj back and get him safe because family's all you have, and she needed someone to keep her alive after everyone else she ever loved died or failed to protect her? how she learned from lee to protect and to love but how she learned from kenny to not let go of your family even if they're safe without you? and how she thought she was right and how everyone in the fandom thinks she was right in what she did because it's clem's narrative, but in reality everyone ends up hurting someone else in the end, even clementine who symbolises this beacon of hope? yeah, I think about that sometimes too

girl help i was listening to that one i love you so song since i saw cool animations with it and i am imagining it with clem and everyone who raised her, and how lee was her first guardian and her best ones and after his death she had to let him go, and her younger days in the apocalypse were in the hands of irresponsible adults (COUGHS s2)
like clem loved lee, he was the father she needed at that time, and a good one at that. she had to let him go
she loved luke, he was significantly more close to her than everyone else in the cabin group. she had to let him go
she depended on both jane and kenny, two people who werent properly stable to raise someone her age, but tried their best and cared for her deeply to love her with their all. she had to let them go
and then everything else felt hazy for her. she went jaded the older she grew. she became independent, not wanting to trust any adult that was in her path as much as she trusted the previous guardians in her life. she had to fight for herself and not get attached to a group anymore. it was rough
then she met javier garcia. a man who wants whats best for his family and willing to do anything to protect people he cares about. she met an adult she can depend on again, someone who she can go too to see some light in a dark world.
tl;dr right when clem was losing hope in the people around her, the right guardian came at the right time and was able to help heal her and be there for her throughout her traumatic experiences
