Like I have not seen this level of cruelty for a romantic storyline since House drove his car through Cuddy’s house after they broke up
911…man…that was actually so unbearably cruel that I can’t even imagine what people are feeling…

Oh man. Lou Ferrigno Jr. I don’t know you from Adam. From what I’ve seen you seem like a good man but online personas of celebrities can be way different than they are in real life and we will never know so I can only go off of what I’ve observed and how other people have talked about you. But dude. You were a MASTERCLASS in how to be a bigger person when other people are behaving like their lowest selves around you. If I had been getting death threats and being called a racist and a predator and ugly and having my relationship with my horrible father brought up over and over again and having family members harassed and EVERY OTHER THING that was thrown at me. While still managing to be kind to both the people who are supportive of me AS WELL AS the people who are ACTUALLY WISHING FOR MY DEATH. ALL WITHOUT A SINGLE ONE OF MY COSTARS DEFENDING ME. I would not have been as nice about it.
#again. I don’t know him.#whatever misdeeds he may or may not have done seem to have been a long time ago#and I don’t hold people’s humor in the early 2000s against them because it was a different time period and things change and we grow.#but good lord#did ANYONE who worked with him on that show stick up for him?#besides just saying he was nice occasionally?#if they did I didn’t see it#anyways.#hope you continue to be a class act and star in a show that actually deserves you#not tagging the show but we all know what I’m talking about#lou ferrigno jr

Yes, I'm worried. But this isn't about House. It's about Cuddy. She's the one who could be dying, and he's trying to make this about himself. I'm not playing.

one of the worst feelings in fandom is when the canon version of a character is one of your favorites ever but their fanon interpretation is just something you want to dropkick into a dying star and watch it all go supernova hopefully from close enough that it will obliterate you and your memory of what the fandom did to them in the process

“house is referencing brokeback mountain OMG what did the writers MEAN by this is he actually queercoded—” I’m gonna stop you right there. i know most people in the fandom revival were barely conscious and aware of the world in 2006 but brokeback mountain was basically the butt of all jokes back then. It was an earnestly-made, well-adapted, heartbreaking movie about queerness and desire and repression in rural America but the general public’s sense of humour was still extremely homophobic, every mainstream tv show was punching down, the movie was an unexpected mainstream hit and pop culture phenomenon, and because of that it was prime target for cheap references and punch-down jokes.
“I wish I knew how to quit you” was a punchline. you did not need to watch the movie to know it was referencing The Gay Cowboy Movie (Tee Hee) because it was made into a joke by every late-night talk show host, wannabe standup comic, and meme generator website. the house md writers did not mean anything by this. the media landscape of the mid-2000’s was just that fucking toxic and openly resentful towards queerness in general back then.
