i want to clarify actually- this post was made after a community that me and my partner were part of made a public statement about male & masc lesbians not being "valid". this directly impacted us both, but it more heavily impacted her, as she has close ties to people with positions of authority in that community. my partner is a transfem lesbian, we're both bi lesbians, and to some degree we both identify with maleness in a way that made us "invalid" in the eyes of the people running this community. this isn't some end-all be-all statement about which lesbians are valid and which ones aren't, it's literally just me saying "hey, if you're (the type of person who was impacted by this community making this statement), you deserve respect and you're not getting it and i'm sorry". it's not "if you're NOT this type of person, you don't deserve that respect", nor is it "if you're not this type of person, i don't respect you". it's literally just because i lost some friends and i wanted people like me & my partner to know that the world isn't all like that. one statement being made doesn't mean the opposite is true.
trans women are often perceived as male or masculine and excluded from lesbian communities because of this. i recognize this, and with the amount of transfems in my life that i hold incredibly near & dear to me, and the area/political climate my partner and i live in, i'm thinking about it nearly constantly. this post is primarily about people who ARE male or masculine, and are excluded from lesbian communities because of this. if i included trans lesbians in the original post, i'd be lumping trans women in with men & masc people. i'm simply not gonna do that.
trans lesbians deserve respect, they get less than they deserve and that's fucked up. they deserve more than just a tumblr post on a blog with less than 50 followers, there are exponentially better ways i can do things that actively combat transmisogyny in lesbian spaces, which is why i do more to amplify transfem voices and bolster the transfems in my life than post about them on tumblr. this post is about a dude my partner is friends with who made a roblox game being exclusionary of male lesbians, whose following is primarily younger people on social media like tumblr, so the best way for me to reach these people and let them know they're respected is via social media like tumblr.
i'm not lumping these statements together because trans lesbians and male lesbians are different groups. "trans lesbians deserve more respect than they get" belongs in a different post than "male lesbians deserve more respect than they get". these groups have some crossover, but i'm not going to misgender or degender any trans woman who doesn't voluntarily identify with maleness or masculinity by including them in a statement about men & mascs.
this will be my last post about this because this post was never meant to be a fully fleshed out statement against exclusion in lesbian communities, it is quite literally about a roblox game and about my partner losing friends because her partner's identity as a male lesbian isn't respected and her identity as a transfem 'weird' lesbian is at risk of being disrespected because of these peoples' views.
i love you lesboys, i love you male lesbians, i love you bi lesbians, i love you dykes, i love you he/him lesbians, i love you transmasc lesbians, i love you genderfluid lesbians, i love you bigender lesbians, i love you weird lesbians
you are just as much of a "real lesbian" as the rest of us. we are all in this together. do not listen to the people who try to start fights with you about your identity- only you know who you are, their opinions on that mean nothing. please keep living your truth, you're important and wonderful and even when it feels like there's nowhere you can go without running into some stupid petty discourse about your life, know there are and always will be people who will love you for who you are. you do not have to conform for anyone. do what you're doing. don't let dumb internet arguments run your self-worth into the ground, they aren't and never will be worth it. you are a whole, beautiful person whose life and experiences matter, even when a loud minority wants to fight you on it. you don't have to make sense to anyone but yourself. i love you.

"no way you just excluded trans lesbians"
this post is about lesbians with "contradictory" identities. i shouldn't have to write a 500 paragraph disclaimer about how we should also respect every other identity in a post that is about specific identities. this post was also made in response to a very specific controversy that landed very close to my heart, personally hurt me and several friends, and lost me some social contacts.
i know a lot of bi lesbians. only Two of them are not trans women. i also know a lot of trans lesbians who identify as male or masculine to some degree. there are also plenty of genderfluid and bigender lesbians out there. nowhere in this post does it say that trans women aren't included in these communities. to assume that i was excluding trans women here just means that you read things in the most negative light possible
in other words,
i love you lesboys, i love you male lesbians, i love you bi lesbians, i love you dykes, i love you he/him lesbians, i love you transmasc lesbians, i love you genderfluid lesbians, i love you bigender lesbians, i love you weird lesbians

backshopcalmic: a gender related to photoshopping backgrounds out of images because it calms the user
for anon! the top and bottom stripes are from the photoshop logo (not that you couldn’t use this if you use a different editing software, but i figured it was a good base) and the inner two represent being calmed. the top flag is meant to look like a background being edited out of a photo, with the dotted lines surrounding the section that’s going to be removed. the bottom left flag keeps the dotted lines and the bottom right makes them solid lines. the term is ‘back’ from ‘background’, ‘shop’ from ‘photoshop’, ‘calm’, + ‘ic’!
flag id: the top flag’s background has a bright blue top half and a blue-black bottom half. in the center of the flag is a large square with a pale blue top half and very light red-pink bottom half. around the outer edge of the flag and the outer edge of the square, with the background showing through, are white dotted lines made up of evenly-spaced very small rectangular segments.
the bottom left flag has 4 stripes. in order, they are bright blue, pale blue, very light red-pink, and blue-black. at the top and bottom edges of the flag, the top edge of the second stripe, and the bottom edge of the third stripe, all overlapping the first and fourth stripes, are white dotted lines made up of evenly-spaced very small rectangular segments.
the bottom right flag has 8 stripes, with the first, third, sixth, and eighth being very small and the second and seventh being slightly smaller than the other two. in order, they are white, bright blue, white, pale blue, very light red-pink, white, blue-black, and white. end id.
banner id: a 1500x150 teal banner with the words ‘please read my dni before interacting’ in large white text in the center. end id.

(vamoose + -ean [variant of -an])
requested by a friend! the flag was based on @dasharez0ne‘s classic “JUST WALK OUT” image (included under the cut)
[DNI IMAGE ID: DNI banner with text reading “DNI: transmed, anti-endo, exclu of good-faith IDs/pronouns, proship/anti-anti/etc, NSFW-themed blog”. The background of the banner is the diversity rainbow pride flag]

the bottom left flag has 7 stripes, with the fourth being much larger than the rest. in order, they are sky blue, dark grey, silver, blue-white, silver, dark grey, and sky blue. in the center of the flag is a line of four evenly-spaced light red-pink cloudy hearts, which are not quite as tall as the fourth stripe. the first and fourth hearts are cut in half by the edges of the flag. the bottom right flag has 9 stripes, with the fifth being twice as large as the rest. in order, they are sky blue, dark grey, silver, blue-white, light red-pink, blue-white, silver, dark grey, and sky blue. end id.
