Ilych Slap Selection - Part 2
Now that our first round of voting is closed, it is now time to reveal which two songs from each semi have moved onto the final stage, and to open voting to determine our winner.
Round 1 Results
In the first represented region of the country, Tescolya, the two songs that are moving on to the final are...
Human by dodie & Salted Caramel Ice Cream by Metronomy!
Sadly, we must now say goodbye to George Ezra and Alfie Templeman who were both very narrowly removed from the race.
We now move on to Chaylitsi, and the two songs moving forward from their semifinal are...
9 Neshamot by Carakukly & Yalla Bye by Kobi Marimi!
Congratulations! Unfortunately that does mean we must say Yalla Bye to Static and Ben El and to our funky blue jeans robot friend.
And our final semifinal, which took place in our capital, Nova Varda, allowed for these two songs to qualify to the final...
Dzīvot Citādāk by Aminata and Tautumeitas & Ogles by Prāta Vētra!
Which indicates that our final non-qualifiers are KATŌ and Saldās sejas, which we do want to thank all six non-qualifiers for their participations!
Running order
Ogles
Yalla Bye
Dzīvot Citādāk
Human
Salted Caramel Ice Cream
9 Neshamot

Good luck to your favorites, and we will see you soon with the results!

Ilych Slap Selection - Part 1
An @eslariasongcontest 4 national final!
This is part one of two for our national selection. Each of the 3 major regions of Ilych have 4 songs in the running, and you will decide which 2 songs from each semi will get to continue to the grand final, and have a further chance at representing the great nation of Ilych at the 4th Eslariavision Song Contest in Atlanti!
It is now time to introduce our 12 competing entries, and it’s up to the audience to reduce that number to 6 for the final!
Fortunately, you will only have to compare the four songs in each semi to each other instead of ranking all twelve songs together.
The four songs from the Tescolya region of Ilych are just as varied as the landscape, perfect for our beloved cheese-rolling tradition!
Metronomy - Salted Caramel Ice Cream
dodie - Human
George Ezra - Shotgun
Alfie Templeman - Used to Love
We also have an interesting selection of four songs from the rich cultural region of Chaylitsi!
Static + Ben El - Gumigam
Kobi Marimi - Yalla Bye
Sweaty Machines ft. Izhar Cohen - Blue Jeans And Bloody Tears
Carakukly - 9 Neshamot
And last, but certainly not least, is the capital region of Nova Varda, and the last four songs to condense Ilyan musical culture into one competition!
Aminata + Tautumeitas - Dzīvot Citādāk
Prāta Vētra - Ogles
KATŌ - Es gāju par tālu
Saldās sejas - Mīlestība ir
For your convenience, all 12 songs are in one playlist, so you can listen through all of them in one location! And here is the voting form for the semifinals (also in one link!)
We will be back in a few days to announce the finalists and voting for the grand final, and from there we will find our winner. Good luck to your favorites and we hope you enjoyed these great songs!

Song of Americium 2019
Welcome to Americium’s national final for @lgbtvisionblog!
Americium is a synthetic radioactive chemical element which was discovered in the United States in 1944, during the Manhattan Project. It was named after the American continents (North and South America) which in turn are named after Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci. It is commonly used in smoke detectors and some other industrial processes.
Now that you know a little more about our element, it’s time to present our five LGBT-related musical projects that are in the running to represent our element!
Here is a brief synopsis of our artists and the songs they will perform.
1. Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls
Opening the show, it’s none other than the iconic duo Pet Shop Boys, whose lead singer is out as gay. While they still are making great music in 2019, they will be giving us a throwback, competing with their 1984 hit song “West End Girls”.
2. Shura - What’s It Gonna Be?
Shura is a synth-pop performer from the UK who identifies as a lesbian. Her song “What’s It Gonna Be?” is an upbeat song with a music video showing themes of LGBT teenage romance.
3. Yvie Oddly - Dolla $tore
Yvie Oddly is the drag persona of Jovan Bridges, and the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11. Here she is with the iconic rap track about going to the Dollar Store.
4. Austra - I Love You More Than You Love Yourself
Austra is an electronic band from Canada, fronted by Katie Stelmanis, a queer Canadian-Latvian musician. The group will perform “I Love You More Than You Love Yourself” !
5. Dorian Electra - Flamboyant
Dorian Electra is a genderfluid performer who uses they/them pronouns. They use their music and visual aesthetic to challenge gender norms and express themself. This is their song “Flamboyant” !
🏳️🌈 You can listen to all the songs here 🌈
🍭 You can vote/rank the songs here 💙🤍💗
Thanks to everyone who voted and good luck to all participants!
