I just remembered reptiles' brains arent capable of bonding and love and missing their owners like Jack assumed. The snake was likely just lethargic and lazy because of its sub par housing and lack of stimulation. Reptiles and captivity are often like that. Therefore, Jack's "mercy kill" was pointless.

Jack becomes totally evil or does something unforgivable, Winchesters need to kill him, Winchesters need to enlist the help of Lucifer to do so, Lucifer posses Sam, and we get the white suit Samifer "We will always end up here" ending
